Story
Hi, I’m Wednesday- yes, like the one from The Addams Family! I may not be as gloomy as my famous namesake, but I do share that sleek, all-black look… and a bit of attitude. Think of me as your very own playful little house panther—with a hint of spice.I’m a 2-year-old boy who came to the shelter when my previous family developed allergies. I’ve lived with other cats before, so I could do well with feline friends again. I’m friendly and love pets… but only on my terms. When I’ve had enough, I’ll let you know—sometimes with a swat or a quick escape. I’m definitely not a lap cat, and I like keeping my paws firmly on the ground.I adore playtime—chasing toys, pouncing, and exploring keeps me happy. I’m an indoor-only cat and enjoy a home where I can safely strut my stuff and show off my personality. If you’re looking for a sleek, playful black cat who knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to show it, I just might be your perfect little panther.

Story
Hi, I’m PoppyI’m a shy girl who likes to take my time getting to know new people and new places. At first, I may hang back and watch from a safe spot while I figure things out, but with patience, kindness, and a calm home, I can start to feel more comfortable. Once I settle in, I have the potential to show my sweet side in my own quiet way. I’m looking for a forever family who will give me the time and understanding I need to blossom.

Story
Hi there, I’m Austin. I’m a 2½-year-old handsome white kitty looking for a forever home with my brother and best friend, Texas. We’re a bonded pair, which means we need to be adopted together-we’ve always had each other and wouldn’t want it any other way. When you first meet us, we’ll likely be very shy and a bit shut down. Big changes can be scary for sensitive cats like us. But with time, patience, and a calm home, we may start to come out of our shells and show you our sweet sides.I’m a gentle guy who enjoys being pet, but you have to go slow and let me decide when it’s time for attention. When I’ve had enough, I’ll simply wander off to find a cozy spot for a nap. I’m not much of a lap cat and I’m not a big fan of being picked up, but I’m polite about it—I’ll just squirm away without using my claws.I do have a playful side though, especially when it comes to chasing mouse toys. I can do well with older, considerate children who understand that I’m a quiet, sensitive cat. Dogs make me nervous though, so a dog-free home would be best for me and Texas. If you have a calm home and a kind heart, my brother and I would love the chance to grow more confident with you and finally find our forever family.

Story
Hi… I’m Smudge. I may not be the first to run up and greet you, but if you give me a little time, you’ll discover a gentle, loving soul who just wants to feel safe and cherished. I used to live with one person and other cats, and I did well with my feline friends. I’ve always been an affectionate girl at heart — the kind who loves being pet (honestly, I could soak up attention all day). I’m a big fan of laps, cozy snuggles, and even belly rubs. When I’ve had my fill of love? I’ll simply drift off to sleep right beside you. It’s my favourite way to say “I trust you.” Since coming into care, the world has felt a little overwhelming. I’ve been quite shy and timid, and at first I spent a lot of time tucked away in a safe hiding spot. But in my foster home, I’ve been slowly finding my courage. At night, when everything is quiet, I like to explore, play, and even chase around my favorite toys — water bottle caps are the best! With patience and kindness, I’ve started to come out on my own, even curling up in a lap for a peaceful nap. I still get startled by sudden noises or fast movements, and I’ll need a home that understands I might take some time to fully settle in. But every day, I’m growing a little braver. I would do best in a calm, quiet home with patient adults who will let me adjust at my own pace. Once I feel safe, I promise I’ll reward you with the sweetest snuggles, soft purrs, and a bond that’s truly special. If you have a gentle heart and a little patience, I think we could be something really beautiful together. I am a special paws adoption, which means I do have medical needs that need tending to. I have a grade 3-4 heart murmur, but because of this, my adoption fee is totally up to you ($30 admin fee still applies)!

Story
Hi, I’m Phoebe. I’m a beautiful 1-year-old girl who was found as a stray, and I’m looking for a quiet, loving home where I can feel safe and loved. I can be a little shy and avoidant at first, especially when I’m unsure or scared, but I’m a sweetheart at heart. Even when I’m nervous, I don’t get aggressive—I just need a little patience and understanding while I learn that I’m safe. With time, kindness, and a gentle approach, I know I’ll start to come out of my shell. What I really need is a family who will let me move at my own pace and show me that love can be a wonderful thing. Once I feel comfortable, I’m sure my sweet personality will shine through. If you have a soft spot for gentle souls and want to help a lovely girl feel safe and cherished, I might be the perfect match for you. Come meet me at PetSmart Dougall starting March 24th!
