Story

Our precious Lucy needs a loving home. She was born with an amazing personality that is naturally trusting and friendly. As a baby kitten, she would walk with confidence straight toward any voice in the the room. She was just a tiny fluff ball back then, who loved everyone and she was easily adopted at a young age. Over time, changes in the household led to a separation of her owner and partner. Lucy went to live with the partner who eventually lost touch with the owner. Fast forward a few years later, Lucy was recently found in a stranger's yard, begging to come in their house. The kind samaritan took her to Animal Control who contacted us via her microchip. We contacted her owner who explained that Lucy had not lived with her for some time and had no way of reaching the ex from where Lucy went missing. The rightful owner then without hesitation went and saved Lucy from the pound, but is not in a position to keep her and has asked us for help with rehoming. Lucy is still the same tiny sweetheart that she always was. She still loves and trusts, despite whatever she went through to find herself homeless. We will likely never know what happened in that time, but we are still here for her and committed to making it right. All thanks to her microchip. She was examined at the shelter and determined to be in great condition, so we think she was not lost much longer than the 2 weeks we know of (per the good samaritan). She is happy to be safe and ready for the next chapter of her life. Lucy has a wonderful personality. She is gentle, affectionate, and loving. She is now 10 years old, and full of life as ever. The shelter vet thought she was much younger, as she is still petite and very healthy. She is good with kids and dogs, and knows how to fit herself in easily as she has maintained her natural confidence. If you are a sucker for a beautiful, black, long hair with gorgeous green eyes that look up at you adoringly, then please don't hesitate to inquire about this special little girl. She will be a loyal and loving companion who appreciates and deserves a good home.

Donna is a beautiful silver/gray tabby, with the most gorgeous emerald green eyes you've ever seen. She is about 5+ years old. She was living a sad life with no frills until her owner passed away. When we rescued her, she was just a scared girl who went from hiding under a blanket all the time - to basking in attention. She loves to be pet and brushed, and looks forward to bonding time with someone who can make her feel important and make up for lost time. Her energy level is low - medium. She would be perfectly happy as a couch potato with moderate playtime for exercise and engagement. If you are looking for a sweet, companion who likes to lounge, then Donna may be the one for you. She is shy at first and will need someone who can help her settle in, but once she warms up she can't get enough of the one-on-one. This beautiful gal has waited a long time to have the love and home she deserves. She would prefer to be an only pet, and will do best in a calm, quiet environment where she can lounge to her heart's content, watch out the windows, and feel special to someone who loves her.

These lovely calico sisters are Angel & Stormy. Stormy was a young mother who came with 3 newborn kitten and her sister. She was a wonderful mom to her kittens, but was afraid of people. After the kittens were adopted, Stormy bonded with her sister Angel. Angel was also leary of people, but a bit more trusting. Their foster began the patient process of socializing them. They've progressed tremendously but have a ways to go. Angel has discovered that she loves to be pet and purrs loud like a motor to let us know she is happy. Stormy likes to play, but still keeps a distance and has not yet discovered the joys of petting. They both sleep on their foster's bed at night and like to be near her. They are often curled up together napping, or playing together with their toys. They are sweet, gentle, quiet, and shy. They will do well in a home that is calm and quiet with someone special who can meet them at their level and build their confidence. They are available for foster or adoption. Their foster has done amazing work with them, but has others to care for as well. Angel & Stormy would benefit from someone who can carry the torch and focus on them directly. They are young about 3 years old, fixed and fully vetted. Angel is the one always pictured in front. She has the most natural confidence, so Stormy feels safe snoozing behind her.

Three 8 week old kittens are looking for loving homes. They have appointments to be fixed the end of June, and we would love to have their homes lined up and ready for them. There is a landlord giving a deadline of July 1, so timing is important. If they are not rehomed, then they will need a new foster come July, which we have a shortage of. A no-pets exception was made so that the tenant can keep the mom (Pepper). Pepper was abandoned by a previous owner and this tenant recently took her in, unaware she was pregnant until she gave birth in his basement. It was only discovered when she came upstairs with milk on her belly. So the search was on and we located the newborns in a hidden crawlspace of the basement. We placed them into a bucket and passed them through a hole in the wall to safety. The tenant made them a nice room for Pepper to care for her babies and teach them how to be good little kitties. They are very well-rounded, having had their full benefit of nursing and learning from mom, socializing with their siblings and with people. They are adorable and fun, just beginning their lives. They will be 12 weeks old when they are fixed and fully vetted, ready to fit right in. They've had a great start in life, so let's secure them a happy future. You know you want one! *Each is available for foster or adoption. They can go as singles, a pair, or even a trio, whatever your heart desires. **Mom will also be fixed late June and will be kept by her finder. He has done a terrific job with her, and she has done a terrific job raising her babies. Now it's her turn to rest and enjoy her home, as they leave to enjoy their best lives. This beautiful brother & sister is a bonded pair of kittens, about 7 months old (as of March). They are very sweet. Shy at first with strangers, but warm up quickly and purring within seconds of being pet. Their personalities are quiet, gentle, relaxed. They like to be near you, hanging out, lounging on the couch. They are very bonded, in fact Money relies on Penny for his confidence. Penny is the braver one who explores and investigates first, while Money lets her make sure the coast is clear. He watches everything she does and then follows her lead. She loves to get close and bump you to pet her. She loves to be noticed and comes to you for attention. Money kind of waits for you to invite him out of his shell, and the instant you pet him, he is a purring machine. He rubs his face in your hand and enjoys every second. As he becomes more settled in his environment, he is very chill and wants to be just as much a part of the action. His personality is smart, always observing and learning. They were born at a landscaping shop with their mom and siblings. The guys working there brought them in for winter, and made a nice spot for them to stay in the shop. They were about 3 months old, so they had their full time with their mom and a decent start with people. A foster volunteered to foster a pair, so Penny & Money got to leave the shop and get a temporary home to prepare them for a permanent one. They have been in foster for about a month, and adapted quickly. They are having a ball exploring, playing, watching out the windows, watching their foster mom work on her computer, sleeping on her bed. They are ready for a forever home to grow up in. They would do best in a calm, quiet environment. Penny is the light tan, her unique shade is elegant. Money is the more gray tabby with amazing eyes that tell his thoughts and feelings. The are both strikingly gorgeous. Still small-ish not yet full grown, and their hair is soft as a bunny. They are both fixed and fully vetted. Healthy, happy, and perfect with litter box.

Story

Warren was rescued in Detroit at Warren & Trumbull. We have fostered him for about a year. We know Warren was friendly with the neighbor dog (about 15 pounds) when he was briefly an outdoor cat on his arrival. Warren likely can coexist with another cat his age and energy, we just do not have that. Warren is somewhat cat aggressive with the two we have and that is why he needs to be rehoused along with the fact he was a foster to begin with. Warren is a bit spicy & can be an ankle biter. He will eat anything but does prefer kibble. No allergies known. Prefers wand toys.
