Story
Meet Wanda IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN WANDA, PLEASE GO TO OUR WEBSITE TO READ ABOUT THE PROCESS AND FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. www.furkidrescue.org Wanda was a young teenage kitten when we trapped her in a feral colony in Bethel Park. We had a cat experienced foster home willing to take her in as a foster and get her used to domestic life. It took months, but now she loves the indoors, and loves human affection and attention. She follows her foster mom, Emilie, around the house, “yelling” at her, and demanding pets and butt scratches. She also gets along well with the resident cats and dog, and you can often find her hanging out with the dog!

Story
We adopted Bean with his mother after she gave birth in the middle of winter, underneath a mobile home. He's about ten months old, very social, and loves to play--feathers, mice, string, other cats, anything is fun! He also likes to squeeze under chairs and couches and pop out. He hasn't encountered dogs yet, but he's great with cats and kids of all ages. He does have a medical issue, which is why we have to rehome him. (Two of our cats developed different medical issues this summer and we can only afford to handle one of them.) Bean has something similar to IBS, where he gets diarrhea and has trouble making it to the litter box (though he uses the box successfully for all his pee) that gets worse if not treated. He's had several rounds of testing, and we know a lot of things it's not. So far the only things that help are steroids and strong probiotics. They want to do an ultrasound and further workups from there, and figure out a long term management plan.

Story
Meet Iris, a Russian Blue lookalike kitten. She is not a purebred Russian Blue. She's a solid gray kitten who is short haired. If a lifetime home for Iris is found in the Pittsburgh area, Iris will fly up from Florida (in the passenger cabin) for the meet and greet. Florida currently has a cat overpopulation crisis so severe that several rescue groups fly and drive cats and kittens from Florida to the New England area. We do so to Pittsburgh where we have a connection. We do this with just a few cats. Every transport helps. Every home helps. Our goal is to save cats. We have only so much space and other resources. Iris's adoption fee helps to cover some of her transport, vet and daily living expenses. About Iris. She's been fostered in loving foster homes. Loves to run around and play - she's a kitten after all and that's what they do! Plays with other cats and kittens very well. In fact, she loves other cats - loves to cuddle with them. A proper introduction is important for all cats involved, if you have other cats or kittens. We think she would do well and blossom as an only cat as well. Iris is affectionate and likes to cuddle. The kinder and gentler you are with her, the more she responds. She has to get to know you a bit, its normal... Iris is on the timid side and so we are seeking a quieter home for her. No young children and no dogs. A home with a little bit of patience and cat savvy. Yes, cat savvy cat be learned - in fact - lifelong learning about cats is highly recommended! We want Iris to be loved. She's precious. We want her forever family to be happy and love her. She will love them back with all of her heart. Iris has been spayed, microchipped, had rabies vaccination and a series of three FVRCP vaccinations and is on a monthly flea preventative revolution plus. She tested negative for the feline leukemia virus and feline immunodeficiency virus. Her DOB is 4.11.26. Iris was born to a pregnant stray cat who was rescued ready to give birth. Iris was born in safety. Our adoption process: First and foremost, we are happy to answer any questions and provide more photos and we are currently working on some video clips of Iris. If interested in possibly adopting Iris, the first step is to complete an adoption interest form. Then we will schedule a phone call or possibly a video call to further discuss Iris and the adoption process. If it seems like a good fit for Iris and for the adoptive home, we schedule a transport for her. The prospective adopter comes to meet her. If its a good fit at the meeting, Iris goes to the home. All of her veterinary records go with her. We follow up to assist with the transitioning process as needed and to help in any and every way to ensure a successful adoption. Our adoption interest form: https://form.jotform.com/233454813758161 We can also email a word document to complete if that is easier for the adopter. Thank you for considering sweet Iris.
