Story
Meet Dumpling. Once a part of one of our South Oakland colonies, Dumpling is a small tuxedo girl who couldn't cut it as an outdoor kitty. Quite skittish around loud noises (and loud humans), Dumpling very much needs a quiet home with the company of kitties who will let her cuddle them and humans who understand her strange gremlin ways. To humans who greet her with patience and love (and a treat or two in their hand), she is a lovebug who purrs up a storm (and drools out of happiness) and can't get enough cheek scratches. She also LOVES butt pets and gentle spanks, but don't tell her that we told her about her butt fetish. She also loves high perches to watch her world where she can feel safe. Dumpling seeks a rescue-savvy owner who will love her gremlin and hissy self for who she is, and give her a loving home for her to continue to bloom into a real kitty. She would do best in a home with other cats, no dogs, and no small children. Dumpling is around a year and a half, spayed, fully vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Oscar. This special needs boy was brought in from our infamous West End colony after we were able to successfully convince his caretakers he needed to see a vet. After a full workup and ultrasound, it was decided that Oscar would be staying indoors. And good thing - because this boy loves his fancy new indoor life. Oscar is such a sweet, gentle boy and has a way about him that makes anyone fall instantly in love with his precious, expressive face. He has the cutest little bobblehead due to his mild CH and gives him the most adorable wobble. He certainly doesn't let it slow him down and loves to play with his string toys and go crazy for catnip. He will happily flop on his back as his way to let you know it's time for some loving and will immediately make air biscuits to show his content. He loves to chew on dog toys, which his foster discovered after she first found him chowing down on the litter scoop handle! He's a lovable, quirky boy who would make the most amazing best friend. He would prefer a home with his best friend Bug. Oscar deals with chronic bowel issues but has been doing very well since starting his steroids, gaining 2 lbs of weight back. He has shown significant clinical improvement, and as of his re-check appointment on 1/17/23, his vet believes whether he has IBD or GI lymphoma, he is in a state of remission. Aside from a small portion of inflammation in his intestines, everything looks normal on his ultrasound. With his improvement over the last 4 months, we and his vet staff believe he is also perfectly fine to continue his course of medications to keep him as healthy and happy as possible for as long as possible. Because of Oscar's FeLV status and diagnosis of either IBD or GI Lymphoma, his adoption fee has been waived. Oscar is about 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated, dewormer, flea treated, microchipped, FIV-, FeLV+, and has mild cerebellar hypoplasia.

Story
Meet Ana. Found on the streets very dirty and inhumanely overweight, she was brought into rescue where she's worked very hard on losing weight. When first rescued, she was so obese that the fat in her abdomen was pushing down on all of her organs, completely distending her belly and causing lots of discomfort. She has since lost a little over two pounds and is a whole new cat! She loves her life indoors and just wants plenty of attention and to be around humans! Ana is a very sweet girl, but definitely a cat for a more experienced cat owner. She can be a bit finicky about her pets and can get a little sassy if you touch her in a way that she doesn't prefer. She's also not a fan of being held! Because of her time outside, she can be a bit overwhelmed by too many people and loud sounds, so a calm and quiet household without young children would be best. She is undecided on other cats at the moment but may do okay with very slow, proper intros. She is a bit of a weirdo! Not the biggest fan of most toys, she is playful and will get the goofiest of zoomies. She likes to play with hair ties, small twigs, and puzzle-treat toys! She adores watching birds from the windows. Her silliest quirk is her eating habit, where she will scoop up her wet food and eat it off of her toes. Ana is roughly 3 years old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped and tested FIV/FeLV negative. She still needs to lose about a pound to be at her ideal weight and will likely need to be on a weight management diet for life.

Story
Meet Bug. The first cat rescued from the West End colony, Bug came to us semi-feral, horribly sick, and severely underweight. At 6 months old, she had weighed just around 2lbs. After some medication and TLC, her respiratory illness cleared up, she started to put on weight, and she's become a healthy, sweet little girl. Bug is quite a playful cat and will run zoomies most of the day and night. She can be fearful at first, but will easily fall for a good wand toy and smoothie treat. Once she is settled, she is a very curious girl and loves to play with anything and everything. She loves to carry her mouse toys and hide them for future play. Bug can be very affectionate at times, especially in the mornings, and will often spend her afternoon naps snuggled into your lap. However, it's important to know her sensitive areas and when to give her space. Bug would be best for someone who can respect her boundaries and let her be her crazy kitten self. Bug would prefer to find a home with her best friend Oscar. Because Bug is FeLV+, she must be in a home with FeLV+ cats or cats updated and regularly vaccinated for the virus. Bug is just over a year old, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV negative, FeLV positive (confirmed via PCR).

Story
Meet Dorothy. This classic brown tabby was rescued from a colony on the border of Bloomfield and North Oakland as a young mother. At just 7 months old, she had already had one litter of kittens. She didn't seem like a truly feral cat, so we decided to keep her inside and give her a second chance. Over the last 10 months in foster, she's come a long way. She can still be very wary of humans and jumpy to touch, but she's made so much progress that we're sure will only continue in the right home. From taking every chance she could to hide, to now greeting her foster at the door and even rubbing on their legs at dinner time. And now, if you're lucky, she will let you sneak in a pet or two at dinner time or at your feet if she's in the mood! She's an incredibly sweet cat that deserves a calm, patient, and loving home that is willing to give her the time that she needs to fully trust and feel comfortable and safe. Dorothy is a young and energetic girl and LOVES to play. She'll unleash her inner kitten on any wand toy yoy have and loves to play in her tunnel. She also loves other cats once she gets to know them. Having been a young mother, she's a bit of a matriarch and will mother any cat she meets regardless of age. She knows her boundaries and is not afraid to teach a new cat what they are with a good wack. But with a good and proper introduction, she'll be cuddling and playing the day away with her new friends and needs a home with other cats. Dorothy is about a year and a half, spayed, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.

Story
Meet Houdini. Originally trapped as a TNR case from a feral colony, he was the only one who decided he'd rather live indoors instead. He was a bit shy at first but has blossomed into the sweetest little gentleman. Houdini is a very loving guy. Because of his feral start, he can be a bit shy in a new situation but it doesn't take long before he's strutting his stuff with confidence. He has the cutest little meow and will use to ask for attention and, of course, dinner. He doesn't mind being picked up and enjoys being held and cuddled - he'll even make biscuits while you hold him! He doesn't mind other cats and would do just fine in a home with others or by himself. Houdini is about 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated, flea treated, dewormed, microchipped, and tested FIV/FeLV negative.
