Jackson is the most loving, loyal companion you could ever ask for in a cat. Unfortunately, our life has changed dramatically since we adopted him and we no longer have the space and attention for him that he needs. He’s started having anxiety and we know he needs to find a home with less chaos than the toddler boys running around ours. He will purr on your lap, at your side, and go everywhere with you like a best fur friend. He loves hard and you won’t regret bringing him home.

Meet Eugene. He is a sweet, high energy, extremely playful, occasionally bossy 7 month old pirate kitty. Life wasn’t always so good for Eugene and his extended family. It wasn’t too long ago that he was living off a busy country road in Washington County, where many of his friends and family members were killed by cars. Despite Eugene’s sad beginning, he is a happy, go lucky cat. Perhaps his sad beginning, taught him to be the flexible and dynamic kitty boy that he is. He has quickly integrated into his current foster home where there are four older adult male cats and three domestic rabbits. And he loves each and every member of his extended family. His favorite past times are rough housing with the older cats, playing in empty boxes and with the cat wand, watching the rabbits, eating, and getting his cheeks rubbed. He also loves rolling around on his back when he gets loving. And he takes treats like a dog out of your hand.He was born with micropthamalia, which is a condition that develops in utero and his eye is recessed and almost undetectable as a result. He will need to have it removed so that it doesn’t cause any issues as he grows older but this will be done when he gets fixed.His vocalizations are not what you’d expect from a typical Tabby cat. In fact, he chirps and trills like a bird more than he meows. For such a big personality, he has such a quiet, sing songy voice. His foster family says that he is an absolute delight to have. He’s incredibly social with the other cats, if not occasionally bossy, gentle towards the domestic rabbits, and a pleasure to take care of.

And in those 258 days, this beautiful girl has made a HUGE transformation.When Mikala first came to us, she was terrified of human hands. She desperately wanted affection, but something in her past had taught her that a hand reaching toward her was something to fear.Our team discovered that she LOVED a back scratcher. It became her way of accepting the love she so desperately wanted while still feeling safe.So we waited. We gave her time. We respected her boundaries. We let her come around at her own pace.And slowly, over many months, Mikala began to trust us.Now she happily accepts pets from our hands. 🥹💜For Mikala, this isn't a small thing. This is a HUGE milestone.And she has blossomed in other ways, too.Today, Mikala is the welcomer of our catio room. When someone walks in, she gets up and comes to the front of her catio to say hello. She seeks people out and requests pets from anyone who enters.The girl who once couldn't trust a human hand now actively asks humans for affection. She will now accept a few gentle pets from people she trusts, and she’s becoming much more comfortable when visitors enter her catio room. She’ll get up, wander around, check people out, and sometimes even act like she might want some attention.She may still have plenty of spice 🌶️ and she is definitely not a kitty who wants to be smothered with attention. She will let you know when she has had enough, and her signals need to be respected. 217 Days & Still Waiting for Her Forever Family 💛🐾How is this sweet little girl STILL waiting? 😭 Velma has now been with us for 217 days, and we’re determined to find the family she’s been waiting for!Velma may be petite, but her personality is anything but small! 💕 She’s outgoing, affectionate, and quick to steal your heart. She is the first catio you pass when you enter our catio room, and it doesn’t take long for her to work her magic! 🥹Our volunteers who visit the catio room quickly fall in love with Velma. She’s always ready to greet you, soak up pets, and show off her sweet personality. She also enjoys having feline friends around, too! 🐱💕Velma does have abdominal lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes in her digestive tract) and requires a special diet (Hills prescription hard food) and medication (simply sprinkled on her wet food) that she will likely need long-term. But Velma doesn’t let that slow her down!
