Story
Birdie is a feral cat who decided she does not want to live outside and instead wants a human best friend. Birdie is as sweet and mild-mannered as they come. She was an amazing mother to her five babies with a special fondness to her baby Chicken. Birdie is truly a special cat with a deep appreciation for those who care for her. She is quiet and shy at first but warms up and build confidence in new surroundings fairly quickly. Please consider Birdie as a new addition to your family.

Story
Dottie (Black and white) and Luna (black) are sisters and very bonded (they need to be adopted together). After they were kicked out of their house with 5 and 7 week old kittens, they were spotted and taken in for fostering (owner relinquished them). Dottie and Luna are very territorial. It's suspected that is from having to protect their kittens outdoors. (The kittens were adopted out last Fall). They are slowly getting used to my cats but there are still some altercations. I feel they would do best together in a home with no pets, or after established in a home, introduced to younger kittens. Dottie was a great mom. She even nursed a foster kitten and Luna's older kittens. They are very playful and sweet, and both love belly rubs and getting brushed. Dottie did need steroid injections (twice) for snoring sounds. It is most likely she has a nasal polyp which is just treated with steroids. I have heard her snore occasionally, but not constantly or heard breathing congestion noise when awake as of late. That will be something the new owner will need to monitor for.

Story
217 Days & Still Waiting for Her Forever Family 💛🐾How is this sweet little girl STILL waiting? 😭 Velma has now been with us for 217 days, and we’re determined to find the family she’s been waiting for!Velma may be petite, but her personality is anything but small! 💕 She’s outgoing, affectionate, and quick to steal your heart. She is the first catio you pass when you enter our catio room, and it doesn’t take long for her to work her magic! 🥹Our volunteers who visit the catio room quickly fall in love with Velma. She’s always ready to greet you, soak up pets, and show off her sweet personality. She also enjoys having feline friends around, too! 🐱💕Velma does have abdominal lymphadenopathy (enlarged lymph nodes in her digestive tract) and requires a special diet (Hills prescription hard food) and medication (simply sprinkled on her wet food) that she will likely need long-term. But Velma doesn’t let that slow her down! She is happy, loving, and full of life. 🥰After 217 days, we’d love nothing more than to see this little ray of sunshine finally have a home to call her own. 🏡💛Come meet Velma and see for yourself why she is so easy to love!📍 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA📝 Adoption Application: https://form.jotform.com/213275062626049📧 adoptions@animalprotectors.net📞 (724) 339-7388

Story
💜🐾 258 DAYS. Adoptable Mikala has been waiting for her forever home... And in those 258 days, this beautiful girl has made a HUGE transformation. When Mikala first came to us, she was terrified of human hands. She desperately wanted affection, but something in her past had taught her that a hand reaching toward her was something to fear. Our team discovered that she LOVED a back scratcher. It became her way of accepting the love she so desperately wanted while still feeling safe.So we waited. We gave her time. We respected her boundaries. We let her come around at her own pace. And slowly, over many months, Mikala began to trust us.Now she happily accepts pets from our hands. 🥹💜For Mikala, this isn't a small thing. This is a HUGE milestone. And she has blossomed in other ways, too.Today, Mikala is the welcomer of our catio room. When someone walks in, she gets up and comes to the front of her catio to say hello. She seeks people out and requests pets from anyone who enters. The girl who once couldn't trust a human hand now actively asks humans for affection. We are SO proud of her.But there is one thing we haven't been able to give her yet: A forever home. She has shown us that when she feels safe, she can grow. She has gained confidence in her catio and explores the room, visiting her feline neighbors along the way. Because she seems comfortable around other cats, we think she could do well in a home with a feline friend. She just needs the opportunity to settle into a home, feel safe, and continue her journey with someone who understands that trust takes time.Mikala has already spent 258 days waiting for that person. Please help us find her forever home. 🙏Share her story. Tag someone who might be the right fit. Help us get her in front of the person who will look at Mikala and say, “I'll give you the time you need.”📍 730 Church Street, New Kensington, PA📝 Adoption Application:** https://form.jotform.com/213275062626049📧 adoptions@animalprotectors.net📞 (724) 339-7388
