Ritual is the sweetest little girl you will ever meet, and she knows it. She has a highly calculated routine: walk around your legs, look up at you with huge eyes, and try to look as cute as physically possible 24/7. It works every single time. Included in our $225 (going rate/vetting is expensive) adoption fee is full vetting. It will cost you more money to have everything we have already completed for them done. Adopting from us supports S.O.S and our mission to save cats from neglect, abandonment, hoarding or friendly strays stuck living outside. All of our cats are dewormed, have received Capstar for any flea issues and NEXGUARD COMBO for any parasites, received two FVRCP vaccines as well as their rabies vaccine, are treated for ear mites (if needed), are combo tested for FeLV and FIV, and are microchipped which will transfer to you. Once the adult cats are fully vetted and vaccinated, they freely roam across two floors and (Pittsburgh weather permitting...) also spend time in an outside Catio to soak up the sunshine. I will tell you all my same spiel I tell everyone else, if you adopt from us. Do not declaw your cat, if the cat is sick- have enough money to take them to the vet. If you ever need me, call me. We talk to you and ask questions ourselves and we know the cats well. If we think it is not going to work out, we will let you know. Everyone who is able and willing, deserves the companionship of a cat. It's an art that we have purfected here! Most of the cats are in the shelter, all in one place. No, you do not need to bring your entire family and all the pets to your appointment (actually please don't on the pets) We take you around to the different rooms and then you & yours can go and visit where you want too. Seems simple right? Well, it is! Bring your own carrier just encase you do pick a new BFF, we have all of their paperwork. All you have to do is schedule an appointment. During your visit, feel free to spend time with the cat you want to meet, but also take a look around. We always have cats with a wide variety of ages, coat patterns/lengths, and personalities. High energy antics? You bet. Couch potatoes? Check. Sweet, purring snugglers? Roger that. And please don't overlook the shy wallflower who keeps glancing your way, introverts need love too. Often times, a cat is simply overwhelmed with their new rescue environment and will blossom in a calmer home environment. SOS is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our adoption fee, along with donations, allow us to tend to our rescued cats in the manner in which they deserve: fully vetted and fully cared for. We also allocate funds to continue TNR (trap, neuter, and release) efforts for all of the strays who are too unsocialized and human-adverse for an indoor home. By spaying/neutering, these cats live a healthier life and no longer contribute to increasing the stray cat population. When you adopt a cat from SOS, you're doing more than giving a cat a good home. Both boys are sweet (Toby is a little more shy at first but overcomes it quickly!), charming to the max, and very silly. They came in as bonded brothers through an owner surrender, so we know know they don't love dogs and are avoidant of kids, but boy oh boy do they love each other. Meet Smoke! This handsome guy came to us when his previous owner could no longer care for him. He can start out a bit shy around new people and will likely need a bit more time than your average cat to get his bearings in a new home, but he's well worth the wait! He has lived with another cat in the past so may be interested in doing so in the future as long as they're introduced to one another properly. Since he hasn't ever met a dog and hasn't lived with any children we're quite unsure how he would feel about sharing his new home with any of the like. We're not just blowing smoke--Smoke is the guy! This lovely little gal is Didi! Didi came to us alongside her best friend Tony when her owners were no longer allowed to have cats. She's an incredibly friendly little lap cat looking for the perfect home to curl up in. She previously lived with a 2-year-old, so she may do well in another home with kids. We aren't sure how she feels about dogs, but she was living with her friend Tony, so she may be open to a home with other cats already. Everybody say hiii Stormy! Stormy is an incredibly handsome and lovable 11 years young fella who is ready for his forever home. Storm has been rehomed twice now due to his anti-natalist beliefs and is required to go to an adult only home. Storm also does not like dogs and would do best in a quiet and calm home! When Storm feels safe, he is an absolute lover boy. He loves gentle pets and a warm lap. Storm does also require a specific litter box set up that we will show you before you take him home!
