RUE is approximately one year old and came to us when her owner could no longer care for her. Rue was terrified when she arrived and would strike out through the bars of her quarantine cage. It took us a while to win her over. She is now very affectionate with the volunteers but her new family should expect a similar decompression time. Typical to Calicos, she has a short fuse, so would not be the best match for a family with young children. Older children who understand “catitude” should be fine. Rue does not mind the small dogs who also inhabit our cat room. She has been spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for FIV/leukemia and microchipped. Adoption $75. Update: Buttercups was adopted. Tiger is still available. TIGER & BUTTERCUPS came to us through no fault of their own. They are one year-old littermates who can be adopted together or separately. Tiger is the outgoing one of the pair. He is often the first one to greet us in the cat room. Buttercups is very sweet and loving but tends to hang back a little bit until she gets to know you. While Tiger gets along well with his sister, he’s a bit of a bully with the other cats and the cat room so, if not adopted as a pair, we recommend that Tiger be an only kitty. Buttercups would be fine in a multi cat household. Both kitties have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and tested negative for FIV/Leukemia. Adoption $100 each if going solo/$150 to keep the siblings together. OZZY & TOTO came to us when their owner suffered a devastating health diagnosis. They were very loved in their former home and we would like to keep them together if possible. Ozzy & Toto are 4 year old littermates. Ozzy is an orange and white dreamsicle! He is very sweet, just a little shy at first. Toto is his gray and white tabby brother - he is the shy one. Toto can be coaxed out of hiding with Temptations treats. We feel that Toto would do best with Ozzy to show him the ropes.
