Story
Feeney came to CVHS with her litter of kittens (who have all been adopted) when her owners were unable to care for them. She is a sweet girl who loves attention but also likes her independence. In her prior home she was used to the indoor/outdoor lifestyle and enjoyed hunting. She has experience living with young children and felines and did well with them. Due to Feeney`s personality we feel she may be just fine with a cat savvy-canine with a slow introduction.

Story
Pebble came to CVHS when her owner was no longer able to care for her due to the owner’s health problems. She is new to us, so we are still getting to know her, but so far she has demonstrated that she is a shy girl who would do best in a calm and quiet environment. Due to her shy personality, no children or canines for this sweet girl. So far she has done well with her feline roommate that has given her space to come out on her own terms.

Story
Coconut came to CVHS with her brother when her owners were moving. Coconut doesn`t do the best with change, so she would like to find a place with consistency, a cozy place to cat nap, and a human to give her attention. She is a sweet girl who can take a little time to trust her people, but when she does, she loves attention on her own terms, and will let you know when she has had enough. Coconut has lived with another feline in the past, but has demonstrated here she can be selective on who she likes. She could tolerate going into a home with another cat of similar personality as long as she gets a slow introduction since she doesn`t do great with change. She has also had experience with young children, but can get overstimulated, so no young children or canines in Coconut`s new home.

Story
Lily came to CVHS when her owners were moving and unable to take her with them. She is a delightful and charming cat with a big, bold purrrsonality! She is an affectionate girl who asks for attention by rubbing on your legs and enjoys being petted. Just like any strong-willed kitty, Lily has her boundaries. She’s a smart girl who knows how to communicate her needs, and she’ll let you know if she’s had enough. She has lived with felines in the past, and has tolerated them here as long as they don`t get in her space. She does not have any experience with young children, and due to her getting overstimulated, should not go to a home with children. Lily has had some brief exposure to canines and seems to be afraid of them, so would need a home without them.

Story
Olive came to CVHS when her owner lost their housing. When it comes to relationships, she`s very level-headed. She doesn`t leap in paws first, if you know what I mean. But give her a little time, and then she`ll shower you with purrs, head-butts, and plenty of lap time. She is also a cat that will definitely let you know when she has had enough attention. We have yet to have a cat that we could test with Olive, but in her previous home she did live with another feline, and did not enjoy her company. Due to her age and personality, no young children or canines please.

Story
Cleo came back to CVHS after 11 years with her beloved adopter, when he passed away from cancer. Her person, Morgan, was very well known in the community, and even when working hard to advocate for stable housing for all, he made sure to share his love of Cleo with everyone he met. She was the apple of his eye, and she got him through some tough times. Cleo is now in need of a new home, but she isn’t going to fit in just anywhere; she needs a special place. Cleo needs to be the only pet in the home, and she needs someone with great patience, and understanding not to push her buttons. She wants attention and affection on her terms, and will not hesitate to smack you if you push past her boundaries. She did spend time with Morgan’s granddaughter, and never misbehaved, but we feel strongly she should not live with children. She spent many happy hours warming Morgan’s lap, and though it may take her a little time to adjust to a new home, a lap is probably what she’ll love the most. When Cleo first came to us, she was clearly grieving the loss of Morgan, and it took her a while to start eating again, and even longer to seek attention from staff. Now when we enter her room, she comes out from wherever she`s made herself comfortable (in a crate, under a blanket, under the bench), and rubs around our legs, and happily accepts gentle pets.Cleo also needs someone to help her with weight loss, as well as making sure she gets her meds in her meals of wet food each day. She has arthritis pain, and gabapentin is helping her with that, as well as with her anxiety. The other major quirk of Cleo’s is that she is aggressively reactive to vet care and forced confinement post-surgery (she’s had multiple dental extractions), so precautions need to be taken when she needs to go to the vet. We can discuss that in detail with potential adopters.
