Story
Calico is a sweet, gentle girl with a soft heart and a playful spirit. She was rescued from a cat colony about two years ago and has since been learning how wonderful indoor life can be. While she can be a little skittish at first, in a calm and quiet home she truly blossoms and shows her affectionate side. Calico loves attention and enjoys being brushed something that’s especially helpful because she sheds quite a bit. She isn’t much of a lap cat, but she loves being close to her people and will happily curl up beside you to relax. She’s also not a picky eater, making mealtime nice and easy. Playtime is one of her favorite parts of the day! Calico has a blast chasing toy mice, laser pointers, and anything sprinkled with catnip. She’s also a big fan of high places, so a tall cat tree is a must for her. It gives her a place to scratch, climb, and lounge on top while keeping her from turning the furniture into her scratching post. Calico enjoys watching the world outside and would thrive in a home with a window view or access to a safe catio where she can relax and observe birds and nature. Because of her submissive personality, she tends to get along well with other calm animals. She has lived with other cats and even large dogs before, so a gentle companion could be a great match for her. Overall, Calico would do best in a quieter household with patient adopters who will give her time to feel safe and loved. In return, she’ll reward you with companionship, playful moments, and sweet cuddles right by your side PLEASE READ THIS TO ADOPT: ***ALL ANIMALS ARE CURRENTLY IN LONG BEACH, MISSISSIPPI.*** We transport adopted animals every 2-3 weeks to Northeast states.  Completed applications take precedence over inquiries. If you are interested in adopting, the FIRST step is to complete an application. Story
This little spitfire may look like a dapper gentleman in his Sunday best green bow tie, but don’t let the city slicker outfit fool you. He’s got more scoot boot and boogie than a honky tonk on a Saturday night! Whether he’s practicing his high speed cattle herding (on your ankles) or attempting to lasso a feather wand like a pro, this pint sized powerhouse is 100% farm fresh mischief. After a long day of working the ranch (chasing a string he found in the kitchen), he’s looking for a soft place to kick off his boots and settle in for a long nap. Since he’s a true blue rescue, his family tree is a bit of a mystery to us. Our best educated guess is that he’s a Domestic Shorthair with some mighty fine dark gray tabby markings. He’s a real dapper fellow, sporting a crisp white blaze that runs straight down his nose and continues onto his chest and belly, making those deep charcoal stripes really pop. Along his sides, Denim shows off soft light gray tabby swirls that give his coat a rugged, textured look. Despite his striking “tough guy” pattern, he’s much more of a sweet gentleman than a wild outlaw. If you’ve got a heart that needs a laugh and a home that needs a little extra sunshine, this blue jeans boy is ready to ride off into the sunset with you. He is just waiting for the right person to come along and call him their own. Ready to be the lucky winner of this little guy's heart? Don't let him be the one that got away click the link below to fill out an adoption application and make this handsome fellow a permanent part of your family! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69a1c6e36912ab2ca40754d1 Questions? Story
Part storm cloud, part marshmallow, and 100% convinced she’s the smartest detective in the building. Meet Skye, a tiny grey and white tabby who hasn't met a mystery (or a stray shoelace) she couldn't solve. They say every cloud has a silver lining, but this one has whiskers! Skye is a Grey and White Tabby who looks like she was put together using only the softest materials available or at least we think. We aren’t quite sure of her exact breed or age, but we are sure she’s made of the softest stuff on earth. With her snowy white chest and smudged grey tabby stripes, she’s basically a walking storm cloud, the clumsy kind that mostly just rains purrs and the occasional somersault. Skye’s investigative style is more gentle curiosity than high speed chase. She doesn’t just run into a room; she delicately inspects every corner, pausing to give a soft mrrp to a passing dust bunny or a suspicious shadow. While she definitely has her goofy moments usually involving a sideways hop or a very serious battle with a feather wand she’s a mellow soul at heart. She plays in polite bursts, preferring a soft pat tap with her paws over a wild scramble. Once her investigation for the day is complete, she’s the first to find a warm lap or a fuzzy blanket to melt into, proving she’s just as much a professional snuggler as she is a world class detective. If you have a vacancy for a full time tiny investigator and a part time lap warmer, Skye is ready to take the case. She’s looking for a forever home where her "mrrps" are appreciated, her sideways hops are celebrated, and there’s always a soft spot available for a post detective naps. This little storm cloud is ready to clear up and bring nothing but sunshine (and the occasional goofy tumble) to your life. Are you ready to solve the mystery of who her favorite human will be? https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69a1c6d8a51111611c0ee192 Questions? Ever feel like someone is watching you... in the cutest way possible? This tiny explorer has been waiting for the perfect person to notice her perfectly symmetrical stripes and those giant, curious eyes. She doesn’t need a fancy collar or a podium to stand out; she’s a natural born head turner who is ready to leap off the screen and into your lap. Wait… is that a tiny tiger in your living room? Nope, that’s just Delta, a stunning Brown Tabby with a tapestry of warm honey browns and deep espresso stripes. While her exact breed is a rescue best guess, her Standard Issue look is anything but basic. Those delicate natural eyeliner markings make her gaze downright mesmerizing. Sleek, soft, and timelessly beautiful, Delta is a little work of art with a personality to match. She is Delta-finitely the missing piece to your family puzzle. If you’re looking for a companion who is smart, spirited, and undeniably beautiful, Delta is ready to go home with you today. https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69a1c6cd7b8f38ae0d062a84 Questions? Story
The Prince of Pounce and the king of the What’s that?! face. If you’re looking for a kitten who takes his miniature wildcat duties very seriously, look no further! This dashing dark tabby is convinced he’s a fierce hunter of the night, even if his primary prey is actually a dangling string or a very suspicious looking feather. With his deep, smoky stripes and soulful eyes, he’s a masterpiece of kitten charm! With his deep, swirling charcoal stripes and velvety fur, this dashing little guy is a masterclass in Tabby excellence! His coat is a beautiful tapestry of dark tiger markings that make him look like a pint-sized jungle cat ready for a big adventure. Since he’s a rescue, he’s never actually sat us down to explain his family tree or his official breed so while his heritage is a bit of a mystery and Tabby is our best guess, we are 100% certain he’s a masterpiece of kitten energy. Deacon is the perfect example of why rescue kittens are the best; he brings a little bit of mystery and a whole lot of handsome to every room he enters! Deacon is the ultimate explorer. He’s the first to peak around a corner and the last to give up on a game of tag. He’s been thriving in a loving foster home where he’s mastered the art of "helping" with the laundry and ensuring no lap goes unnapped upon. He’s brave, social, and has a purr that sounds like a tiny sports car idling! This little guy has officially leveled up into a confident, social, and ridiculously sweet companion. He’s spent his days perfecting the delicate balance between fierce jungle hunter and world class lap warmer, proving that he’s more than ready to take his show on the road. He might be a mystery mix, but his future is crystal clear: he is destined to be the absolute center of someone’s world (and the primary reason you’ll never have a boring afternoon again). Ready to let this tiny "Dark Knight" leap into your heart? Deacon is packed, purring, and prepared to start his next big adventure in a home of his own! https://adopt.animalsfirst.com/animal/62cc8e128b02916730334440/69a1c6c2e381144eb50704da Questions?
