You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.POPPY-Jean, her sister and friends, arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine on Friday 26 June 2026 from our partner shelter in Texas. We post our available pets across the east coast and Canada and welcome applications from anywhere on the understanding that approved families must be prepared to travel  to the rescue in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. We Will Be Actively Looking to Adopt Kittens in Pairs Health & Background Estimated Date of Birth: 6 April 2026 ✅ SPAYED ✅ NWS Transport Protocol: Credelio CAT and Capstar administered orally prior to transport from a New World Screwworm (NWS) affected area. ✅ FIV Test (SNAP): Negative ✅ FeLV Test (SNAP): Negative ✅ Eclipse 4 (FVRCP+C) Vaccination: Protects against Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (Herpesvirus-1), Feline Calicivirus, Feline Panleukopenia (Feline Distemper), and Chlamydia felis. Rabies Vaccine: Too young to receive. ✅ Microchipped with 24PetWatch and registered with the Free Pet Chip Registry. ⚖️ Weight: 18 July 2026 - 4.8 pounds Why We Will Be Actively Looking to Adopt Kittens in Pairs We will be actively looking to place kittens in pairs whenever possible, as animal behavior experts and feline welfare organizations consistently recognize that kittens develop better socially, emotionally, and behaviorally when they grow up with a feline companion of a similar age. Benefits of adopting two kittens together: Built-in playmate: Kittens have endless energy. A companion provides a healthy outlet for wrestling, chasing, and play, helping to redirect natural hunting instincts and play aggression away from people, furniture, and household items. Teaches bite inhibition and boundaries: Through play and wrestling, kittens learn how to control the force of their bites and scratches. When one kitten plays too rough, the other responds immediately, teaching important social limits that humans cannot easily replicate. Faster learning and social development: Kittens learn by watching each other. They often develop appropriate grooming habits, litter box skills, confidence, and social behaviors more quickly when raised with a companion. Reduces loneliness and stress: Kittens thrive on interaction and stimulation. Having a bonded companion provides comfort, companionship, and security, especially when family members are at work, school, or away from home. Helps prevent boredom and destructive behavior: Two kittens are far more likely to keep each other entertained, reducing the chances of unwanted behaviors that can result from boredom, frustration, or excess energy. Provides lifelong companionship: Many kittens form strong bonds with their feline companions, giving them a source of friendship, comfort, and enrichment throughout their lives. While every kitten and family situation is unique, adopting a pair often creates a happier, healthier, and better-adjusted outcome for both the kittens and their adopters.  Our adoption fee's are $250 per kitten or $400 for two. We prefer for our young kittens to go to families who have other young kittens/cats so they can thrive and learn cat behaviour. We understand this is not always possible and it doesn't mean an instant application denial, it is just our preference. Good with kids, Not good with dogs, Good with cats, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meeka is a sweet and charming senior kitty, around 12 years old, who has mastered the art of being the purrfect companion. She's friendly and social without being demanding. You'll often find her snoozing contentedly at the foot of the bed, and unlike some cats, she's considerate enough to let you sleep in rather than demanding breakfast at dawn! Meeka does best with adults and older children, around age 9 and up. She's a cat who appreciates having her personal space respected and isn't a fan of being carried around like a rag doll. That said, she's patient and tolerant, making her a wonderful companion for respectful, cat-savvy kids. When Meeka first arrives in a new home, she will seek out a secret hiding spot given the chance. It's best to provide a safe space, giving her time to adjust, and when she's ready, she'll explore her surroundings and get to know her new family. Meeka isn't an overly playful cat, but she's still a cat and you'll have fun discovering what toys bring out the hunter in her. She's a lovely girl and her calm presence will bring a lightness to your home. If you're looking for a friendly, easy-going family kitty who enjoys human company, Meeka could be your match! Complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org if you'd like to meet her.

He is a friendly, outgoing kitten who loves both adventure and affection. If you'd like to meet Gregory, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.

Story
Lilly is a lovely 15-year-old sweetheart who proves that senior cats are truly something special. She’s affectionate, devoted, and happiest when she’s the center of your world, soaking up every bit of love and attention you can give. Her charming raspy meow and adorable happy drool when she’s extra content only make her more irresistible. This golden girl is wonderfully easy to please—she’s a great eater and her twice daily medication mixes easily right into her food. She also loves spending time by the window, keeping an eye on the birds and the world outside. Lilly is gentle, great with kids, and full of warm companionship. Lilly’s perfect home would be one where she can be your one and only cat, surrounded by love, cozy spots, and people who adore her as much as she’ll adore them. If you’re looking for a sweet, soulful companion, Lilly is ready to make your home her happily ever after. If you want to meet Lilly, complete an adoption application at queencitycatsvt.org.
