Story
Meet Reishi, a sleek and mysterious 5-year-old black cat with a heart full of untold stories and a spirit as resilient as her namesake. Reishi is a soul in search of a patient and understanding home where she can truly blossom. Reishi's low-key demeanor and independent nature make her an ideal companion for someone who values tranquility and understands the beauty of earning trust over time. While she may initially be reserved and prefers to keep her paws firmly on the ground, she'll gladly accept affection on her own terms, reveling in the gentle strokes of a loving hand. Reishi's FIV+ status and grade 2 heart murmur add an extra layer of uniqueness to her story, but it certainly doesn't define her. FIV is a feline-only virus that lowers a cat's immune system. With regular vet check-ups, many FIV+ kitties live long lives. FIV+ kitties can live with other cats as long as there is no fighting, as the virus is only passed through deep bites. While Reishi's compatibility with other cats remains uncertain, she seems unfazed by most things, suggesting she could potentially coexist with the right feline friend. Reishi is a mystery waiting to be unraveled, a soul yearning for a patient and compassionate companion to share her journey with. If you're willing to open your heart and home to this beautiful black cat and earn her trust one gentle gesture at a time, Reishi will reward you with a lifetime of quiet companionship and unconditional love. Reishi is approximately 5 years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and tested FeLV negative. Adopters will receive an adoption package of goodies valued at around $100 if you visit one or both of our Petstore partners after adoption (Tabby & Jacks and All Paws). Misfit Felines Inc is a foster based 501(c)3 rescue. All of our cats are in foster homes. The first step in the adoption process is to submit an application. Story
Ezra! Let this mustachioed gentleman be your new best friend! Ezra enjoys playing with any type of cat toys or blanket. This ginger out of Milwaukee loves bird watching, playing with running water, and doing hot laps at midnight. Ezra enjoys being papa cat to the kittens in his foster home. While Ezra is very playful, he does need some help channeling his energy with wands and other engaging interactive toys with his human. He can get overstimulated and frustrated if he doesn’t get enough hunting/prey-play time which could lead to occasional swiping and nips. It’s important to not use hands or arms as toys with him and to pay attention to his body language when petting. Approximate DOB: 2019 Foster Home Location: lake mills

Story
If you’re looking for a companion who embodies resilience, sweetness, and a love for the finer things in life (like a perfectly constructed blanket fort), Chloe is your girl. Chloe is a beautiful Arabian Mau with a story that shows just how tough she is. After surviving a spinal injury on the streets of Kuwait, she has emerged as a happy, affectionate survivor who doesn't let her "differently-abled" status slow her down. Why You’ll Fall for Her The Purr-fect Sidekick: Chloe is an absolute sweetheart. If you have hands available for ear rubs or chin scratches, she’ll be your best friend for life. The Fort Critic: Do you enjoy building blanket forts? Chloe is ready to apply for the position of Lead Quality Controller. She loves nothing more than burrowing into cozy spots and napping the day away. Low-Maintenance Living: Because she is paralyzed in her rear legs, she doesn't use a litter box. No more scooping! Since you handle her bathroom breaks on your schedule, the traditional "cat chores" are a thing of the past! Chloe is looking for a calm, low-key forever home. She gets along great with other laid-back pets who won't mind a roommate who moves a little differently. If you have a quiet corner and a surplus of soft blankets, you’re already halfway to winning her heart.

Story
Maze may be a little shy when you first meet him, but with patience and time, his true personality begins to shine. Once he feels safe and secure, he blossoms into a playful, affectionate companion who loves being part of whatever is happening around him. Maze enjoys exploring his surroundings and investigating anything that catches his attention. He especially loves the company of other cats and will happily follow his feline friends—or you—from room to room just to be close to the action. He has plenty of playful energy and enjoys chasing toys, climbing, and exploring, but he also appreciates a good nap after his adventures. When Maze trusts you, he becomes incredibly loving. He adores gentle pets, cuddles, and spending quality time with his people. He has so much love to give to the family willing to let him settle in at his own pace. Maze’s ideal home is one that understands shy cats and will give him the time he needs to adjust. A home with another friendly cat would be a wonderful fit, as he enjoys feline companionship and gains confidence from his cat friends. Once he’s comfortable, Maze will reward your patience with endless affection, playful antics, and a loyal friendship.

Story
Hi there! My name is Piper. You might be looking at my pictures and think, “man, that is one cute cat,” but I have something that really sets me apart from the rest of the bunch. I only have two legs! How cool is that? Man, all of those other cats wish they could be like me. Too bad for them, I’m one in a million. I lost my legs when I was pretty young, and I get around great. I chase toys and even climb onto the bed and couch all by myself. No help needed. I do need help with one little thing, though. My bladder needs to be expressed. A quick squeeze three times a day, and I am all set to go. My favorite hobbies, you may be wondering, are playing with spring toys and my foster siblings, taking naps, and cuddling with my humans. My foster sister often asks me, “Piper, where did you put your legs?” and I always tell her, “medical waste, silly!” But, on a serious note, please don’t feel sorry for me, I am who I am, and I am a good sport about it, and you should be too. I am just like any other cat (except much cooler). I am a perfect feline companion, wise words spoken by my foster fam on more than one occasion. They say I “self-entertain,” whatever that means. Just in case you missed it in the beginning, my name is Piper, and I really hope you’ll consider me to be your new feline friend.
