Story
My name is Hailey & I'm a really good girl. I'm a 1 & half year old Catahoula mix and weigh 40 pounds although I could easily add a little more weight. I love people and dogs too. I'm a little shy at first but warm up and my true loving and kind personality comes out. I'm sweet and trusting and will love you completely. I'm truly a beauty and and very special because i have one blue eye and one brown eye! I'm great in the car and walk well on a leash too. I'm praying that a loving family with a fenced yard will fall in love with me and make me part of their family so I can love them forever. Reach out to Long Road Home Rescue (LRHRescue@gmail.com) to get more info on me.

Story
Meet Carrie, our 4 year old Catahoula Mix!Carrie is an absolute beauty inside and out. As stunning as she is on the surface, it’s her gentle spirit that will capture your heart. Once you know her, it’s hard not gush about how special she is. Carrie is super sweet, playful, smart and affectionate. She is shy but rewards longstanding kindness with a big bright smile. She is happiest around trusted friends. When accompanied by her friends in a quiet familiar spot, she relaxes and shows off her fun, silly side. Carrie is an introvert who takes comfort in routines in calm environments. Despite her reserved demeanor, she is an avid hiker who beams with joy when she’s out on nature trails with human and doggy pals! She runs, she rolls, she climbs and revels in all the woodsy outdoor scents and sights. Carrie has been at the shelter for 6 months and is really hoping her forever person finds her soon. She knows sit, paw and takes treats politely. She is nervous walking down city streets and gets scared by loud noises so needs a strong pawrent who can help build her confidence in stressful situations. Carrie is looking for someone patient who will let her slowly adjust, decompress and reveal her delightful personality. Carrie is deeply cherished by regular volunteers and staff alike. We are all rooting for this darling girl to get the loving, happy, stable life she deserves. If you can commit to giving adorable Carrie the guidance, patience and assurance she is worthy of and are interested in making her part of your family, please come meet herCarrie is spayed, dewormed, microchipped and is up to date with vaccines. Story
Meet Maple Walnut! Maple is the sweetest girl with gorgeous amber eyes and a goofy personality. She has come a long way from being abandoned in Georgia but she's taking on NYC with stride! She loves people, treats, smelling all the smells in the park, but most of all cuddles. Maple is fully housetrained. She sleeps through the night and for a lot of the day. Although the would be the happiest cuddled up next to you all day, she'll enjoy her peanut butter fillerd-kong while you go to work and welcome you back with the best wiggly nub. Maple has no signs of resource guarding and takes treats from your hand gently on her hind legs like a penguin. She is super food motivated so any kind of training should be a breeze. Don't miss the chance to add this gorgeous sweetheart to your home! 3 Keywords for Maple: Sweet, affectionate, cuddly My foster dog is good with: Dogs and cats. Maple needs slow introductions to all animals but already lived with dogs and cats.  My foster dog is: House and crate trained, and she's low shed. Energy Level (1= calm, 10= high energy): 3 Barker? Or Quiet Pup?: She will cry for attention occasionally and barks when she gets overly excited. Walking Manners: She is still learning how to walk on a leash - loves all the city smells and used to pull to say hi to all people and dogs. With treats, she's learning to focus on the handler and keep close. Since she loves attention and treats, in no time she'll be walking on a leash like a pro! Appetite: LOVES food Commands/Tricks: knows Sit, Let's go, No and Down (work in progress). Food motivated so will learn all the commands quite fast.   ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States ##2283383##

Story
CAPE MAY COUNTY, NJ: Whoa, who’s that gorgeous light merle new cutie? It’s the playful and loving young Harlem! (previously known as Leonardo at the shelter, lovingly dubbed Harlem by his fosters) Sweet boy Harlem is only 1 year old and weighs 60 lbs. He has a rare light merle coloring that makes him stand out, but this good boy also has an outstanding personality! He is friendly and outgoing, greeting everyone he can – and climbing into laps if he can, too! Harlem is a sweet boy who does happy zoomies and enthusiastically plays with his toys. Harlem bonds deeply to his people and looks to them for comfort. Poor Harlem was originally found as a stray and although he suffered from kennel stress in the shelter, he was otherwise a very good boy. With how loving he is and how good at giving kisses, it is no wonder Harlem steals hearts wherever he goes! Harlem absolutely adores his fosters, wanting to be by their side and can tend to be a "velcro dog" so he is all about being your best friend! Being a young guy, Harlem has a higher energy level, so he loves to go for walks and play outside. He is dog friendly, currently living with multiple other dogs but will need proper intros, of course. Harlem is so excited to begin his second chance at life! Could that life be with you, as a loyal (and handsome) companion? Harlem is neutered, fully vetted, microchipped and ready to be adopted! Please contact AmsterDog at 917-689-8414 (text ok) or by e-mail at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt dear Harlem at AmsterDog.org. Thanks for caring about a pet in need!

These pups are in Long Beach, New York too!

“Adoption fee has been fully sponsored—no donation required 🐾 Meet Cooper! 🐾 Hi, I’m Cooper, an 8-year-old, 60-pound Ridgeback mix looking for a fresh start after my beloved owner became too ill to care for me. While I miss my family, I’m doing my best with the help of my rescue—and now I’m hoping to find another wonderful person to love. I’m a calm, well-behaved, and quiet companion who walks nicely on a leash and knows basic commands like sit and stay. I enjoy outdoor adventures and would be a great match for someone who likes peaceful walks and having a loyal buddy by their side. I’m also a natural protector—I bond deeply with my person and will always have your back. If you're looking for a dog who will love you fiercely and make you feel safe, I’m your guy. I’m neutered, up to date on all vaccinations, and heartworm tested. All I need now is a loving home to call my own. 👉 Ready to meet me?
