Story
Rocket is an adult chihuahua who was left behind by a family members ex-partner, and really needs a new home. He is not good with kids, other dogs or animals, or most people in general. He is aggressive and has a history of biting. His age and shot records are unknown to us as he was owned by someone else and we’ve just been taking care of and providing for him because he was left with us. He can be a good boy for most of the time, but often is aggressive, always unprovoked. His previous owner was male and he definitely seems more partial to men than women. We have exhausted efforts to try and calm his aggression but have come up unsuccessful. We do not want to surrender him and would prefer he go to the home of someone experienced to care for him, but are out of options and we can no longer have him in our home.

Story
Brianna and Beau are bonded, Mom and Son Chihuahua mix. Brianna is the smaller one (thankfully she only had 1 puppy!) She is 3 years old and weighs approximately 9 pounds. Her son Beau is 2 and weighs approximately 14 pounds. They were adopted and returned when they exhibited separation anxiety, so they will need a home where there is usually someone home. We have not seen it. They are so lovable and playful. They love getting attention and playing with their toys and each other. They must be adopted together. The adoption donation for the pair is $500 which includes their spay/neuter, vaccinations, and microchip. They are heartworm-negative and on monthly prevention. Please come to meet this lovable family. https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/brianna_beau/ We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. We have a page on our website that explains our adoption process, and contains a link to our adoption application. Here is the link: http://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/adoption-information-2/

Story
Rocko is a 3-year-old Chihuahua weighing approximately 10 pounds. His owner was moving and unable to bring him. She said he was fearful and unsocialized. He would frequently hide from them. He has improved greatly with us, but he still is not totally trusting. He will need someone who will take it slow with him and be patient. He may snap and try to nip until he gets to know you and trust you. We think he will be best for someone with a fenced yard. He likes to walk on a leash but it's best to get to know him in a fenced yard then leashing him will be more comfortable for everyone. He has bonded with our rescue manager. It just takes him a little time. If you are tender-hearted and can go slow, please come meet this boy a few times. He will be worth the wait. He tends to attach to one person and they can do no wrong in his eyes. He is affectionate but when he has enough, he will let you know. He has to be the only pet. His adoption donation is $150 which includes his neuter, vaccinations, microchip. He is heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. He will blossom into a lovable, friendly boy so please give him a chance https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/Project/rocko/

Story
Dexter is 7 years old and would be best suited for a single person that he can cuddle and sleep with! He is very protective and was an only dog for most his life. I married and brought in two small kids (who he loves) but his attention was taken away. He has become a temperamental old man but still has love to give for someone looking for a companion. The adopted him a brother (a chorkie) that I hoped would entertain him and though they get along well I still think he would be happiest in a home with one person he can hang with. He is potty trained and doe not use a crate. I am not in a rush, I want to find the perfect fit for him! I would be willing to rehome him with his brother for the right person.
