Story
Pete and Pedro 😊are bonded “brothers”. Pete is 10 years old and weighs 18 pounds. Pedro is also 10 and weighs 14 pounds. They are both a little overweight but they are the sweetest, most lovable boys you will meet. They came to us when their owner went into assisted living and there was no one to care for them. They adapted very quickly and became little love muffins. They love attention and are very affectionate. They prefer to be the only pets. The adoption donation for the pair is $300 which includes their neuter, vaccinations, microchip. They are heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. They must be together so twice as much to love! https://www.aforeverhomeanimalrescue.org/store/p168/Pete_%26_Pedro.html We are only able to adopt within the state of Florida. Luna and Precious are bonded "sisters." Luna is seven years old and weighs 12 pounds little Precious is two years old and weighs 6 pounds. They both are dependent on each other, so they do have to be adopted together. They're friendly and a little shy when you first meet them, but in no time at all, they are very lovable. They came to us when their owner passed away and there was nobody to care for them. The adoption fee for the two of them is $600 which includes their spays vaccination and microchip. They are heartworm negative and on monthly prevention. Story
Kennedy is a unique and resilient pup who’s still figuring out how to trust. He’s had a rough start, but underneath his uncertainty is a dog who truly wants love—he just needs patience and the right approach. This guy is house-trained (no accidents here!) and crate-trained, settling in without complaint at night. He also does well in a playpen when left alone for short periods. He loves his toys, especially Nylabones and balls, but can be a little possessive with them. Kennedy enjoys being near his people - he follows them from room to room, wags his tail to show his feelings, and even gives kisses. He may ask for affection by bumping against you or jumping in your lap but then growl or nip when actually petted. Kennedy knows "come" and "sit", but treats (especially chicken!) help him stay engaged. He’s leash-reactive when it comes to putting it on or taking it off, especially around his neck, but once he’s walking, he does well - though 15 minutes is his max before he’s exhausted. He clearly has a history of being fed from the table and will wait at mealtime for a better offer- but don’t fall for it! Kennedy needs an experienced, patient adopter who understands that trust takes time. His ideal home is one where: He can continue learning boundaries in a structured environment, touch and handling are approached with patience and care, he has a predictable routine and a safe space to retreat when needed, and he’s allowed to bond at his own pace - on his terms PLEASE NOTE: All your current pets must be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and on heartworm prevention to adopt from Polka Dogz. We only adopt in Florida. All adoption fees go to help all the dogs in the rescue, some of which require extensive medical care. Thank you for caring for the greater good. Adoption fee is $150 and you can adopt me at www.polkadogz.org. ##2510665##
