Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, I'm Popcorn, your friendly, goofy, gentle, curious, brave, mellow, funny, smart, playful, energetic, loyal, and a bit shy canine buddy. My journey to the shelter is quite a hilarious tale. You see, I was on a mission to dig to China from my backyard. I dug and dug until I popped up in the neighbor's yard. They were having a barbeque, and I thought, 'Why not join?' Turns out, they weren't as welcoming as I'd hoped. So, here I am, ready for new adventures with you. I'm a great listener, a superb comedian, and I promise to be the most loyal friend you'll ever have. Adopt me and let's make our own fun stories together! I'm a very outgoing boy and love playing with my kennel mates and friends. I am a little hesitant when I first meet people because I'm not sure if I can trust them. I need a quiet home where I can take my time to build confidence and trust. As you can see, I have a cherry eye. It doesn't bother me and can be surgically fixed.   To adopt this dog, please fillout an application at www.adoggie4you.org.  He was born around 12/01/2018 and weighs 21 pounds.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. Story
Baby Bat embodies the personality, uniqueness and likeness of the Batman. First, he works alone. No sidekicks or partners. He prefers solitude and his space. Baby Bat has lived with his foster and her dog pack for 5 years, he gets along with them but tolerates them at most. He would do well in a home where he is the only dog, no children, and adults only. Next, Baby Bat is an apex predator. Which means he needs his sleep and food and not to be interrupted or coddled when given either. Baby Bat is not a lap or cuddly dog. Finally, did we mention Baby Bat is a Chihuahua mix? That's a really important detail! Baby Bat is a great and loyal dog seeking a great family to adopt him! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Story
TEXAS ADOPTION ONLY Grandpa Lucky I have the weirdest name. What is that? "Grandpa Lucky. Sounds like I had a lot of luck in my short life, but I am not quite sure of all that. I just look like a Grandpa because I have lived outside most of the time and it is hard on a fella. I am only about 8 or 9 years old according to the vet I have seen, and am in pretty decent health although a little on the chubby side. First off, I was fished out of a river and taken to the city dog pound. I can't tell you how I got into the river, but foster mom suspects I had a little help with that. Well, it was lucky that I got fished out, but then I went to the city pound where I had 3 days before my time was up...literally. But then I got lucky again because foster mom saw me and just had to have me to foster so I got a ticket out of there. I was a pretty skinny dude when she got me, and it wasn't too long before she discovered that I love to eat. Foster mom also has an 18 year old chihuahua, and sometimes I use her potty pad to potty but I love to go outside too! Foster Mom noticed that I was having a little trouble walking on my back legs and that wasn't so good so when we got me checked out, it turns out that I have a little compression of my T4 to T6 vertebrae, whatever that is. Not good. But the vet lady said that nothing needed to be done for that so that was lucky. So, when I get a little tired, I hop like a bunny and the other times when I feel good, I walk like a regular dog. I had some tests done on my blood and I had worms living in my heart of all places. I am told that is not good. But it is lucky for me that foster mommy gave me the medicines to kill those little varmints over time and not all at once. She said it is easier on me if we do it this way. Plus, it is lucky that I got the medicine in a little bit of tasty food that I love. Did I tell you I like to eat? About that, foster mommy tells me I can't gain too much weight, or it will be too hard on my joints and back and that won't be good. Aren't I lucky to have her to take care of me? The one complaint I have with foster mommy is that she doesn't have enough time to let me sleep in her lap during the day. I would like to have a lap in my new forever home and someone who will love me as much as foster mommy does. The heartworms are all dead and gone, and I am done with all the treatments now. So I am free to travel anywhere I want to. Besides having a lap to sleep in during the day, I want to sleep in the bed with you at night. I can't jump off the bed though but being with you all the time is what I want. Then I would really feel lucky! $200 Local adoption fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State adoption fee with $50 temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rose was saved from the streets of Laredo.  She was being fostered by a good Samaritan who tried to socialize her, but had trouble getting her out of the closet.  She has acclimated really well to our program, loves being outside during the day with the other dogs.  Comes in at night and goes to her kennel to sleep.  She appears to be housebroken. She wants to be people friendly, but she had to warm up to you first.  I suspect she has been traumatized while she was on the streets.  The good sam said the neighbors were chasing her away and throwing rocks at her.  She is starting to realize not all humans are mean.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 2, 2024, 1:16 pm

Story
Gigi has been in her foster home for 8 months getting ready for adoption. She was feral when she was rescued by SAAP and she was terrified of people. She now wants to sleep as close to her foster mom as she can get and lets her pick her up and carry her around and even trim her nails! She will need time and patience in her forever home to feel safe. Gigi gets along great with other dogs and loves to sniff around outside and chase squirrels and birds. Gigi would do best in a calm home with a fenced yard and no children. Apply to meet this sweet girl at adoptastray.comOctober 1, 2024, 10:55 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
She does love the yard. But walks on leash. Potties as soon as she hits the grass. Uses potty pads too. Sits up like a squirrel for attention. Flattens out and rolls over for belly rubs when you pick her up. Crate trained but does not need to be crated. Loves a snuggly dog bed. And would sleep with you under covers. Burrows like a mole. Loves her people when she gets to know you. Is fussy when dogs get in her face and when she is in your lap. Corrects easily. Leash up before opening door. She can be be speedy.October 1, 2024, 10:55 pm
