Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)

Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me? PISTOL ANNIE is an adorable small mixed breed girl looking for a home. Annie is about 3 years old and just shy of 9 pounds. She has a long wire-haired coat. Our best guess on breed is chihuahua/terrier-type mix. Pistol Annie is dog friendly and ever so sweet. She came to us from an environment where there were too many small dogs in a small space. She loves to be cuddled and carried. She's best suited to a home with no small children or large dogs. Tiny TEENY is an excellent listener, just look at those ears! Teeny is a sweet little girl looking for a quiet home. She's a chihuahua-type mix. What's the "mix" part? Maybe some rat terrier or min pin? She's about 5 years old and 10 pounds. Teeny spent her whole life living with seniors but landed in a rural shelter when they could no longer care for her. Teeny was so scared in the shelter. She's now in a foster home and doing very well. She's housebroken and crate trained, walks well on a leash and fine with other small friendly dogs. She enjoys being carried and cuddled. Teeny needs a quiet home with a patient adopter who will take the time to earn her trust. She just needs a day or two to settle after so much upheaval in her little life. No small kids or big dogs for Teeny. ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED! MACK is a darling little senior dog looking for a home. This sweet boy is around 13-14 years old and 17 pounds. He is a chiweenie (chihuahua/dachshund) type mixed breed boy. Despite his age, little Mack still has plenty of pep in his step and loves to go out for walks. He's an affectionate little fellow who would be happiest as someone's constant companion. Mack loves to carry around soft stuffy toys and REALLY wants to play with his foster brother even though his foster brother is just not interested. Mack needs a little time to warm up to new people. He was adopted from SDHR back in 2013. He and another senior dog landed in a shelter after being found as strays. We suspect his human passed away and he was dumped. He seems to have been well loved over the last 12 years before his life was turned upside down. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, Mack is scheduled for a much-needed dental work and his cherry eye will be repaired. His bloodwork looks good, he's a healthy boy other than those two correctible issues. Donors have also sponsored his adoption fee, but a donation would be gladly accepted. Mack seems accustomed to the quiet life. He is best suited to a quiet adults-only home with another friendly dog. HITCH is a little goofball, and we mean that in the best possible way. He's a happy-go-lucky little fluffernutter, about 1 year old and fully grown at just 13 pounds. He's brimming with puppy playfulness. Hitch is a Heinz 57 varieties-type mixed breed dog. He landed in a rural shelter with little chihuahua mix boy Hopper, who we suspect may be his father, but beyond that we can't begin to guess the breed mix. He has a soft, fluffy, medium length coat. Hitch loves to run and play with his foster siblings, loves to fetch and does his best to sneak his stuffy toys outside. When playtime is over Hitch is a world class cuddler. Hitch is best suited to a home with another playful dog and room to run. He's a bit of a stinker with kitties so no cats for Hitch. He's housebroken and crate trained.
