Rayne Rayne is a tan, short haired, deer head chihuahua. She is up to date on vaccinations and rabies shots. She has been on a monthly treatment for heartworm. She currently weighs around 8 lbs. Rayne becomes very attached to people and loves to snuggle. She does not do well with other animals (dogs or cats). She can be food aggressive. She will nip at other animals when food is present. Due to her previous situation where she was being starved, she is food insecure. She has gained weight back from this situation and has a good bill of health from the vet. She eats wet food as she has lost some teeth. I would recommend she be an only pet and not be around small children. She does not bark or bite at people when they come into the house. She starts out weary of strangers and will come around slowly to them being present in the house.

Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)

Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me? Mental health advocates, hardship survivors, or those who simply love a slowwwww burn--this is a dog you can appreciate. We want to be transparent: Trinket isn't for everyone. She isn't a traditional little lap dog who wants to be carried around everywhere. In fact, she really doesn't want to be touched at all right now. But she DOES want to be loved. She shows this in her own little ways--following her foster mom around the house like a little shadow, sitting at the foot of her armchair and staring into her soul, spying around corners, taking food from her hands, and even sneakily curling up next to her on the couch when she was taking a nap one day. Trinket is also doing well with the resident dog, cats, birds, and even a fish tank in her foster home! We aren't sure what Trinket's full story is, but here's what we DO know: She was found running loose near an abandoned property, along with a pack of other small dogs. Thankfully, a Good Samaritan spotted them, picked up everyone they could, and got them to safety with SICSA. The dogs all appeared to be very well cared for, but unfortunately, we were never able to locate an owner. But don't go feeling sorry for Trinket--this tiny girl is a tiny WARRIOR. Sure, she's having a hard time with all these changes. But she's not letting a big, scary world get the best of her! Is she scared? Yes--but she's facing her fears and achieving small milestones every day! If you're a patient soul with a quiet home and a dog who can help show Trinket that you're a trustworthy human, you may be the one Trinket has been waiting for.
