RUSTY is an adorable little red mixed breed dog looking for a home and a human to adore. He's the perfect little sidekick. Rusty is probably some type of chiweenie mix (chihuahua/dachshund), maybe with a little corgi mixed in and heaven only knows what else. He's a medium energy middle-aged boy, 5-7 years old. He's silly and playful and affectionate. Rusty is currently a bit overweight, he's 16 pounds and should weight about 12 pounds. He'd love a home where he gets plenty of attention, walks and playtime. Rusty is okay with other small dogs and ignores kitties. He is housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet Rusty, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Rusty at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate. Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. Little Miss SUGARPLUM is searching for her perfect home! She's an energetic 10 week old 5 pound bundle of fun! Sugarplum is one of 5 puppies born December 13th to 15 pound long-haired chihuahua mix Lacey. We suspect her daddy is 17 pound chihuahua/dachshund mix Leon. Our best guesstimate is that Sugarplum will be an 18-20 pound adult when she grows up. Sugarplum loves play time and would be a fun addition to a home with another grounded dog with an advanced degree in doggie manners to serve as her mentor. She MUST have another dog as a companion. Sugarplum is an agile athlete who is highly energetic. She loves a good frolic and could use some help learning the rules of play from an expert peer. Well-balanced dogs make excellent puppy trainers! Sometimes Sugarplum has trouble finding her "off" switch with both humans and dogs, so a home with people who are ready and willing to help her through her T-Rex stage will be the best fit. Sugarplum, like all puppies, requires training and needs an adopter willing to invest time into training her to become a well-mannered family member. The rewards for doing so will be reaped for a lifetime, as she is incredibly intelligent and ready to soak up as much education as she is offered. In addition to her energetic play style, Sugarplum is also a talented snuggler and love bug. She craves physical touch (lap time while she has a chewy) and kissy face sessions whenever possible (a tolerance for doggie kisses is a must for Sugarplum!). Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me?
