Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet  Mowie , a charming Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a survival story as cool as the storm he escaped!   Born around  August 4, 2024 , and weighing in at a sturdy  15.9 pounds , Mowie is the definition of a "tough guy with a heart of gold." He was discovered hanging around the guard shack at  Randolph AFB  just as a major ice storm was rolling in. The kind-hearted guards had been sharing their lunches with him to keep him going, but they knew he needed a warm hearth to survive the freeze.   Mowie is a truly great boy who is ready to trade base security for home security. He does have one quirky "occupational hazard": he’s a bit of a serial humper when it comes to other dogs, which hasn't always won him friends at the park. However, he was  recently neutered , and we are optimistic that this will help him keep his "enthusiasm" in check as his hormones settle down.   Mowie’s Stats: Birthday:  ~08/04/2024 (approx. 1.5 years old) Weight:  15.9 lbs Background:  Air Force Base veteran & lunch-sharing expert Personality:  Resilient, social, and brave If you’re looking for a loyal companion who has been "cleared for duty," Mowie is your man! You can apply for him at www.adoggie4you.org.  His adoption fee is $300.   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $225. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 16, 2026, 11:04 am

Story
Hendricks is an 8-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a big personality wrapped in a perfectly portable 15-ish pound frame. Once upon a time he may have been a certified little gremlin, but these days he’s embraced his distinguished gentleman era. He’s incredibly people-friendly and happiest when he’s part of the action. Whether it’s tagging along around the house, hopping in the car for a ride, or claiming his rightful spot on the couch for cuddle time, Hendricks just wants to be near his person. If you close the door and exclude him, he will absolutely voice his opinion about it — participation is mandatory in his world. He enjoys walks, loves toys, and has mellowed into a much more relaxed companion as he’s gotten older. He does well with calm dogs and tends to mirror the energy of others. Hyper or pushy dogs aren’t really his vibe anymore — he prefers a chill crew. He’s shown curiosity toward cats (even if they weren’t quite as impressed with him), and he’s very friendly w/ people

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Rose was saved from the streets of Laredo.  She was being fostered by a good Samaritan who tried to socialize her, but had trouble getting her out of the closet.  She has acclimated really well to our program, loves being outside during the day with the other dogs.  Comes in at night and goes to her kennel to sleep.  She appears to be housebroken. She wants to be people friendly, but she had to warm up to you first.  I suspect she has been traumatized while she was on the streets.  The good sam said the neighbors were chasing her away and throwing rocks at her.  She is starting to realize not all humans are mean.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 6, 2025, 2:44 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Robin Robin is a 2-year-old Chihuahua with a brave heart and a whole lot of love to give. This sweet girl was found on the streets while pregnant and went on to be a devoted mama to five puppies. Now that her babies are on their way to their own futures, it’s finally Robin’s turn to be someone’s cherished companion. Robin is smart, feisty, and a true “velcro dog” — she bonds deeply with her person and wants nothing more than to be by your side (or curled up in your lap). She does fine with other dogs, but she would truly thrive as an only dog where she can soak up all the love and attention she’s been waiting for. She can be wary of men at first, but with patience, kindness, and a steady supply of treats, she becomes more comfortable and tolerant. Once she trusts you, her loyalty is unwavering. If you’re looking for a devoted lap dog who will adore you endlessly, Robin may be your perfect match. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there, I'm Popcorn, your friendly, goofy, gentle, curious, brave, mellow, funny, smart, playful, energetic, loyal, and a bit shy canine buddy. My journey to the shelter is quite a hilarious tale. You see, I was on a mission to dig to China from my backyard. I dug and dug until I popped up in the neighbor's yard. They were having a barbeque, and I thought, 'Why not join?' Turns out, they weren't as welcoming as I'd hoped. So, here I am, ready for new adventures with you. I'm a great listener, a superb comedian, and I promise to be the most loyal friend you'll ever have. Adopt me and let's make our own fun stories together! I'm a very outgoing boy and love playing with my kennel mates and friends. I am a little hesitant when I first meet people because I'm not sure if I can trust them. I need a quiet home where I can take my time to build confidence and trust. As you can see, I have a cherry eye. It doesn't bother me and can be surgically fixed.   To adopt this dog, please fillout an application at www.adoggie4you.org.  He was born around 12/01/2018 and weighs 21 pounds.  This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. Story
Rusty is a 10 year old Pomeranian with lots of personality! Don't let his age fool you! Rusty is as spunky as ever. He loves his people. He also loves his job: protecting his people from potential threats such as delivery persons, mail carriers, meter readers, etc, with his warning barks. They have no idea how many times he has saved them from certain disaster! Rusty is crate trained and house broken. He has excellent house manners, and has lived with dogs and kids most of his life. Rusty loves all other dogs - cats are an unknown - but he prefers kids old enough to know not to pull his fur. He prefers all fur "pulling" be left to the grooming professionals. Pomeranians do require coat care and regular grooming to maintain their beautiful coats, so Rusty is a pro at being pampered.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Doran — professional sunbather, part-time squirrel chaser, full-time good boy. Doran is a 5-year-old Chinese Crested/Terrier mix who was sadly left behind by his previous people… but don’t worry, he’s handled it like the brave little champ he is. He’s learned that humans can actually be pretty great, especially the kind who give him a little time and a lot of patience. Once you’re in his trust circle? You’re in for life. This funny, quirky guy loves hanging out with other dogs and can often be found running around playing tag with his foster buddies like it’s recess. When he’s not zooming, he’s perfecting his sun-lounging skills, popping in and out of the doggy door like he owns the place, or chasing squirrels who absolutely started it. Doran’s favorite things include: Toys (all of them) Treats (yes, please) Couch cuddles (non-negotiable) Sunshine naps Being your little shadow once he feels safe He’s equal parts playful and cuddly, silly and sweet, and ready for a home that will let him settle in at his own pace and show him he’s finally home for good.
