Meet the Littles! Hi Everyone I am Braveheart and I have a BFF Rosie. Before Rosie came I spent my whole day hiding and wouldn't come upstairs for anything. Now I will come around my human roommates but I still like my Rosie best. Those humans try to touch me and before I came here I was living in a very small place with 150 other doggies including Rosie. All of the dogs in the house were around my size so larger dogs scare me, in fact a lot of things scare me (thunderstorms, loud noises and sudden movements). I am a pretty easy going guy and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't understand why anyone would keep a cat "Dogs rule and Cats Drool". I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what is like to be loved. Interested? Meet King! King was rescued from a bad hoarding situation in 2021. He has made incredible progress and has learned how to be a happy and confident dog. King is a chihuahua mix that currently weighs 20lbs. He a happy boy and has no interest in shedding his winter weight for the summer. We are not sure how old King is, but his facial hair is starting to lighten up. While in foster care, King has gone from hiding under the bed to actively seeking human affection. He does not mind the company of his other foster siblings and will seek them out for some play time. King has been working on his potty habits and will go outside when he is let out. He is not a barker but will squeak when he wants something. King generally prefers to be a couch surfer, but will go outside with his foster siblings. He also prefers comfy beds over toys, does not mind cars rides and does well with baths. Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)

Ernest Goes To Jail, yes, to my embarrassment and dismay, I was found as a stray and spent some time in the doggie slammer. It seemed like forever!! But thanks to this rescue I got out on good behavior and am ready for that freedom ride! Yes, Ernest Rides Again!!! I'm just hoping your home is my last ride!! I have been working on the whole house and crate training thing and have got it down. I may have spent most of my life outside but I've caught on quickly. I coming to see that this whole living inside with a soft bed and a warm lap to lay on is pretty darn nice!! I would do best in a quiet adult only home. I'm needing my space but will come seeking companionship when I want it. Kinda like a cat in that sense. I do well with other dogs but would prefer a more mellow sibling that isn't too bouncy and constantly in my space. At 9 years and only 11lbs I would make a great family addition for someone that is looking for a great lil guy to chill with them. I'm already out of that destructive stage but still enjoy neighborhood strolls and catching some rays in the backyard. If you're looking for that needy pup that is always under foot seeking you attention, I'm not your boy. But if you want an independent lil guy that is just happy being in the same room, I might just be that lil man!! I would love to be your lil side kick....so what do ya say? My house training is coming along and I'm getting pretty good at going outside to potty. I meant to say play with. ;) At around 5lbs I should be around the 10lb range when I get fully growed up. I'll stay on the small side so it'll be easy to just scoop me up and take along on all your daily activities. My favoritest time is you and me time, no matter what we're doing!! And the bestest thing is I don't take up much room on the couch or recliner. I'm a perfect fit for just about any lap! The sun is shining up in the sky, throwing you your little shadow...ME! Never be by yourself again, I'll follow you from room to room to outside to back inside. Even when the sun goes away at the end of the day, you'll know it's still there cuz I will always be right there!!
