Onyx was a puppy born in the shelter until i got him in a past relationship, after that had ended he went to live with my ex boyfriend but then got kicked out because they no longer wanted him. I don’t have a place of my own to keep him so he’s been bounced between my friends to foster him until i’m able to be out on my own as i’m currently living with my parents. Onyx really is a good boy, he was attacked by another dog when he was little so dogs really get to him. Onyx loves cats and all people! He’s so playful and loving, ball is his fave! I want nothing more than for Onyx to be able to run around in a yard with kids or bask in the sun and be lazy with you. He deserves a good home and a warm bed.

He came to us from an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky, and now that he’s safe, he’s more than ready to find a forever family of his own. This little guy loves nothing more than carrying around his small squeaky toys - they’re his absolute favorite! Toby’s gentle nature and adorable quirks make him an easy companion to fall in love with. Meet Sophia!! She’s the sweetest little chihuaha senior you’ll ever meet. She’s got wire hair, a snaggpe tooth and the biggest ears ever. Sophia is wonderful with dogs, cats and kids. She loves a good car ride or walk and she’s a treat connoisseur. Sophia will dance for a treat and she also loves to dance when she meets new people. She’s not a barker and she’s overly friendly so she won’t work out as a guard dog lol. Sophia is a senior but she’s got some pep in her step too! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter. Meet Alice! Alice is a female chihuahua mix weighing in at 7 pounds. She is on the search for her fur-ever home! Alice was born in September 2019 which makes her just over 6 years old now. Poor Alice was not treated well prior to coming into rescue. It is believed she was used as a breeder dog at a backyard breeder. She has come a long way since being with her foster family. Alice needs to be treated like the queen she is- she deserves the finest things in life! She is a fun-loving little gal, but has to live life on her terms. A few things to know about Alice: she really is not fond of other dogs, unless they are little and leave her alone, but even then, she can be cranky with them. That being said, it has been determined that Alice should be the only dog in her new home. She will need an adult only home, no kids at all. Alice also needs time to get to know new people- all of her vets talked to her first, walked around the room so Alice could go to know them, then they would pick her up and she was okay with that. Alice doesn’t like people sticking their face in her face. She should be in a home without children but is good with adults who know how to handle her and be respectful. Alice is a good eater and not fussy when it comes to food. She likes car rides- her foster family has a seat that they buckle her into but it sits on the console in the middle of both adults and Alice really seems to love that! Due to her arthritis, she should go to a home without steps; she can’t go up stairs on her own. Her foster family has a ramp but most of the time they carry her outside to go potty and carry her back inside. She should be carried or have a stroller, as she should not walk that much, except for going potty and around the yard. As she gets older, she will need more care as she will develop severe arthritis, so maybe pain meds, anti inflammatories, maybe a cart; for now, she can get around and at the times she cannot, her foster parents carry her and/or use a stroller. This cutie is Chance! Chance is a 7 year old, 14 pound male chihuahua mix in need of a forever home. Chance has white and cream fur, the cutest floppy ears, and a great smile! Chance is very playful and loves to wiggle and squirm around. He can be a bit nippy at first when he’s scared and can be a little slow to warm up, but once he trusts, he is the perfect companion. Chance is the perfect mix of energetic and snuggly. Even his foster mom’s resident chihuahua, who usually isn’t a fan of other dogs, loves Chance! Chance is housetrained. He is also up to date on all vaccinations and has been completely vetted. He has been neutered and microchipped as well. He is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention. Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)
