Story
Billy is a very sweet but shy boy who barely escaped death with his buddy Butch. They were already in the euth room in a shelter in Texas, but fortunately we were able to pull them just in time. Billy and Butch were roaming the streets with a few other dogs when they were picked up by ACS. It has been a rough start to life for these two, but we are hoping they will find a wonderful family to show them that life can be good and not all humans are bad or scary. They are definitely bonded and must be kept together. Billy adjusted pretty quickly, but little Butch is frightened and less trusting and will take a little longer to warm up. Once he begins to trust and relax, you will see his loving and kind personality emerge. Please submit an application to meet these two special boys. Canaananimalsanctuary.org

Story
Butch was so frightened when arriving to us, but who wouldnt have been. Picked up as a stray with his buddy, Billy. Taken to the shelter where he was minutes from losing his life. Then transported across the country with lots of other barking and frightened pups. It’s been a whirlwind of stressful events. But even so, Butch began to relax slightly after a few days and after a week he allowed us to touch him. It just takes a little time and patience. Billy warms up a lot faster, but with time these two will be a delightful addition to any family. We are looking for someone with the time and patience to bring the best out in this sweet boy who Wants so badly to trust and believe there is good that exists in this scary world. At not quite three weeks we are now receiving kisses from Butch. Both boys are vaccinated, neutered, flea and tick treated and microchipped. Please submit an application to meet these sweet little guys. Canaananimalsanctuary.org

Story
Rocket is a tiny feisty 2-year-old, 10 pound chihuahua. With those bat-like ears he may have some rat terrier too! He is not even 10 lbs and loves to be carried. He is not a fan of men (or women) who wear hoodies but once they take off the hoodie, he is fine. Rocket has that chi personality where he is top dog and nothing scares him. He is so cute when he walks- he throws his feet out in front of him and prances like a Clydesdale horse! He will sniff greet other same size dogs appropriately and seems ok with other dogs. He does have some barkiness in a crate but outside of his crate he is fine. If you like that feisty chi personality Rocket may be the boy for you. Apply at www.caninecollective.org.

Story
Meet Lucy! Lucy is a brown and white senior chihuahua looking for a loving home. Lucy is a sweet 12-year-old gal who’s ready to steal your heart! Lucy made her way to CRT when her mother died and her son surrendered Lucy to CRT. Lucy weighs in at 6 pounds. Despite being blind in one eye, Lucy’s spirit is as vibrant as ever. She navigates with grace and loves to cuddle up with her human friends. Lucy is looking for a quiet, loving home where she can enjoy her golden years in comfort. She would do best in a home where people are at home the majority of the time. She seems to do well with other small dogs around her size that are relatively chill and relaxed. She has not been tested around cats. This charming senior lady house trained, making her an ideal companion for a relaxed household. Lucy is leash trained and goes on walks. Though she sometimes panics if she loses sight of you, she calms back down once she finds you again and does well overall on a leash. Lucy is completely vetted and up to date on her vaccinations. She is spayed. She will be microchipped prior to adoption. As mentioned previously, Lucy is blind in one eye. Her other eye is a bit cloudy. Her foster mom has noticed some pacing with Lucy, so she takes melatonin twice daily and is going to start acupuncture soon to see if that helps with the pacing. Lucy does take a monthly heartworm prevention pill. If you’re ready to offer Lucy a cozy spot on your couch and a lot of love, she’d be thrilled to meet you! Lucy’s adoption donation is $250. If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative. Reference checks and a home visit are required so midwest dogs can only be adopted in OH, KY, MI, WI, and IL.

This cutie is Chance! Chance is a 7 year old, 14 pound male chihuahua mix in need of a forever home. Chance has white and cream fur, the cutest floppy ears, and a great smile! Chance is the perfect mix of energetic and snuggly. Even his foster mom’s resident chihuahua, who usually isn’t a fan of other dogs, loves Chance! Chance is housetrained. He is also up to date on all vaccinations and has been completely vetted. He has been neutered and microchipped as well. He is heartworm negative and on monthly heartworm prevention.
