Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.CAESAR is a friendly, outgoing little guy who’s an owner surrender and through no fault of his own finds himself in our rescue looking for a new home. He’s neutered, vaccinated including rabies and microchipped. He has been seen regularly by a vet and his vet record shows he’s a healthy boy and the only thing noted is that he has the start of some tartar build up on his teeth. This little lap dog is a super friendly, outgoing little guy who wants to have a family that will have someone home with him most of the time to give him lots of attention as it’s important to him that he not be left alone all day. He just wants someone to love him and spend lots of time with him and enjoy having cuddles on the couch together as much as he does.   CAESAR is crate trained as well as house trained and is generally a good boy around the house. He likes children but will bark if they’re running around and chasing after him so we recommend they be aged 10 and up and will be loving and gentle towards him. He lived in a home with 2 cats and they were best of friends so he’d definitely suit a home with cats.  CAESAR walks well on either a leash or harness and loves to go on his walks so he’d need an active owner who loves walking as much as he does. He doesn’t bark at people or dogs on his walks but if there’s a knock at the door, well that’s a different story! We don’t recommend him going to a dog park with larger dogs as he’s just a little guy and could be easily set upon. It’s also not recommended that he be off leash until a strong bond has been formed between him and his owner and his recall has been tested for him to return to you. He loves playing with all sorts of toys, curling up on his dog bed and of course having treats. He’s pretty chill and well behaved and will easily fit in with most families but would probably suit an older household rather than a young family.  If CAESAR sounds like the little guy for you then please complete the adoption form to meet him. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 16, 2024, 6:57 pm

Story
Tony is a spunky little senior guy ! He was rescued from a high kill shelter so we don’t know too much about his previous life. Getting to know Tony the last few years has been an honour. To see him open up with staff and volunteers he is comfortable with is an amazing thing. Tony once was a very guarded dog and now he is a happy and silly guy. Tony loves walks, sleeping in comfy dog beds and getting tasty treats. Overall he does well with new people as long as he gets his space and they do not pet him right away. Tony is quite good with dogs big or small but he does show signs of resource guarding in a home. He will need a few introductions to a dog in his space and management until he accepts them into his pack. Tony is great in the car he enjoys sitting and looking out the window. He is brought home with our staff and volunteers where we have learned he has great manners and is very quiet. Tony has had some trouble finding a home because he has a hard time trusting people. When Tony is unfamiliar with someone and they pet, hug or kiss him he can bite. He truly needs someone that will give him a lot of time to be affectionate and build a bond in other ways. In return, he’ll follow you anywhere you go with his signature grin.

Story
This tiny little munchkin was dropped off at the shelter by his previous owner, who said something about him being 'possessed.' He was TERRIFIED at the shelter, didn't know what was happening to him and didn't want to cooperate with anyone there, and was almost immediately put on the list to be killed. Thankfully, a young girl who lives in the area saw a post for him on social media, and dragged her mother to the shelter to beg them to let her adopt him, as he'd been put into a 'Rescue Only' category and wasn't supposed to be given to just anyone who wanted to adopt him. The shelter took pity on the little guy and let the girl and her mom adopt him anyway. They've had him since the end of March, and have learned 3 important things about him: 1) he is VERY SWEET, and needy for affection; 2) he seems mostly blind, or at least doesn't see well and needs help navigating new surroundings; and 3) he does NOT like being left alone. Unfortunately the members of this family spend much of the day at work and school, and this little nugget is having a very hard time coping. We're hoping to find a loving family with at least one member who is home most of the time -- a retiree would be perfect, as long as that person can still bend down to scoop him up without difficulty because this little man is happiest on a lap or in someone's arms.He seems to have a strong dislike for the leash, or he's never really been on one before, because he had an enormous reaction at the shelter when they tried to put one on him. He lost his mind and started alligator-rolling out of sheer terror. Because they have a fenced-in back yard, his fosters haven't tried leashing him since they brought him home, not wanting to further add to his stress. As he settles in and starts to feel more and more safe, we'll try reintroducing him to this essential feature of domestic canine life, and look forward to reporting positive progress. He's still so fresh from his recent hardships that for now, we're just letting him relax and and get his bearings. If you're interested in adopting Walli, please fill out an application found on our website or Facebook page.Name: WalliWeight: ~8 PoundsGender: MaleBreed: ChihuahuaColour: Fawn & whiteMedical (past and present) & HW Status: Healthy, HW negFixed: Soon!Good with adults: YesGood with kids: YesGood with dogs: YesGood with cats: UnknownHouse trained: Seems to be!Crate trained: YesCrate aggressive: No Food aggressive: NoLeash trained: NoEnergy level: Low to mediumSuitable for an apartment: YesCan be handled: YesBarker: No

Story
Woof! 🐾 Hey there, I'm a bit of a shy pup when you first meet me. I'm like a cat—I need about 3-7 days to warm up and show you my true, adorable personality. But hey, patience is the key to our friendship! I absolutely love other dogs. I can't resist saying hi to each and every furry friend, and my cute face tends to win them over. I'm happiest in a home where I can play and interact with another doggy buddy—I'm quite dependent on their company. When it comes to my energy level, I'm just right—moderate is the way to go. I enjoy outdoor adventures, but indoors, I'm the picture of calm and contentment. Walks are a bit new to me, so if something startles me, I might just plop down and pretend I'm invisible. Sharing is caring, especially when it comes to treats and toys. I'm more than happy to share them with my doggy pals. I'm also crate-trained, so I know how to cozy up in my crate when needed. Whether it's indoor playtime or taking care of business outdoors, I'm ready to be the best companion you've ever had. Can't wait to charm my way into your heart! 🐶❤️ Rescue story: My mom gave birth to 6 puppies in a shelter. All of my siblings have found their forever homes and I think I’m ready to find THE ONE!!
