Story
Meet Sassy! Your future favorite lap dog! Sassy is a 13-pound, 1½-year-old Chihuahua mix with the cutest long body and short little legs—making us suspect there may be a little Dachshund in the mix, too! She has the sweetest heart and just wants to be close to her person. Sassy spent the first 1½ years of her life in a home where she had very little opportunity to experience the outside world. When she came into rescue, she wasn't house-trained and was understandably unsure about a lot of new things. However she has been blossoming in her foster home, and she's doing great with her house training! She's learning that the world isn't so scary—and once she gets comfortable, she's ready to be your very best friend. Sassy may need a day or so to warm up, but once she decides you're her person, you've got a little shadow for life. Whether you're on the couch, working at your desk, or just sitting outside, Sassy's favorite place is right in your lap. She absolutely loves to snuggle and wants nothing more than to be near her people. She's wonderful with other dogs and would love a small, confident canine friend to help her continue building her confidence. She's not currently fostered with cats, but she previously lived with them, and her brother is doing well with cats in his foster home. Sassy isn't a huge fan of the crate—she'd much rather be snuggled beside you, thank you very much! Sassy has come such a long way, and now she's ready for the next chapter: a forever family who will give her the patience to warm up, the love she deserves, and plenty of lap time. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate little companion who will become completely devoted to you once she knows you're her person, Sassy might just be your girl! She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and will be available for adoption starting 8/23/26. Apply directly at www.pawsacrosspittsburgh.com/adopt through Paws Across Pittsburgh, Springdale, PA 15144, KL#16182. ##2820903##

Story
Meet Daisy Daisy is a 4.5-month-old long-haired Chihuahua/Papillon mix who came into foster care like she owned the place — confident, outgoing, happy, and ready to make friends with absolutely everyone. This tiny girl is SUPER active. She loves to run, play, explore, and stay busy. Toys are one of her favorite things in the world, and she happily empties the toy box every single day. She can entertain herself, but she would much rather be playing with her three foster siblings. Unfortunately for Daisy, they are older, boring, and have little interest in keeping up with her. For all that energy, Daisy has an incredibly sweet, cuddly side. The second you pick her up, she is ready to settle in and snuggle. She loves attention and wants to be wherever her people are. And we do mean wherever you are. Daisy is a little Houdini. She can climb over baby gates, slip quickly through doors, and figure out ways to escape exercise pens. She isn’t trying to run away — she just wants to be with you and does not appreciate being left out of anything. Her future family will need to keep a close eye on this clever little adventurer. Daisy is very smart and figured out the dog door on her second day in foster care. She is still working on house training, but when her foster parents are at work and she can’t wait to go outside, she reliably uses pee pads about 98% of the time during the day. She’s a great eater, loves everyone she meets, and has a huge personality packed into a tiny body. Daisy would do especially well with an active family and would probably love having a playful canine friend who actually wants to run and wrestle with her. If you’re looking for a confident, smart, energetic little sidekick who can go from full-speed zoomies to snuggled in your arms in seconds, Daisy may be your girl. ##2829497##

Story
Meet DJ — A Little Dog With a HUGE Heart!  At just 10 pounds and 1½ years old, DJ may be tiny, but this little guy has already shown us that he has a whole lot of courage packed into that small body. DJ came to us as an owner surrender along with two of his siblings. He had spent his life in a home where he was rarely, if ever, taken outside, wasn’t house trained, and didn’t receive the socialization or attention he needed. The outside world? Well… it was a BIG, scary place. But DJ is learning. And he is absolutely amazing us. After a short time in rescue, DJ is venturing outside, and taking in all those new smells. He does prefer a person nearby. He’s pee pad trained, but with watching what the other dogs do, and following their lead, he will be house trained in no time. DJ is learning that maybe this big world isn’t so scary after all. DJ is crate trained, although he would much rather be right beside his person. He follows his foster everywhere, and after a little convincing, he even got to sleep in bed one night. He immediately crawled under the covers, snuggled right up beside his foster mom, and settled in like he had been doing it forever. DJ would do best in a home with another small, confident dog who can continue showing him the ropes and helping him build his confidence. He pays little attention to the cats but will sneak in a curious sniff whenever he gets the opportunity.  DJ does still cry on occasion, especially when he catches himself in the mirror, and we suspect he’s missing his brother and sister terribly. He’s been through a lot of change, and he needs someone who understands that confidence doesn’t happen overnight. What DJ needs is simple: A patient person Lots and lots of love Another small dog to learn from A securely fenced yard to safely explore Someone willing to give him the time he deserves In return, you’ll get a tiny shadow who wants nothing more than to be near his person and a smart little boy who is discovering just how wonderful life can be. DJ is brave. DJ is smart. DJ is learning. And DJ is SO loved.  If you think you might be the person to help this little guy continue coming out of his shell, please apply. ##2822807##

Story
These two six-year-old Chihuahuas are a precious bonded pair looking for a loving home where they can stay together and enjoy their golden years in comfort and peace. They are tiny, incredibly and incredibly cute. They love children and would be wonderful companions for a family looking for two little dogs to love. They especially tend to feel comfortable around women, although they can be a little nervous around some people at first. When meeting new people, they may be a little barky and nervous at first. Once they realize they're safe, they can warm up quickly with patience, kindness, and a little time.Because they are bonded, their ideal home is one where they can remain together. They aren't looking for a busy or hectic lifestyle—just a quiet, loving home where they can feel safe, cherished, and comfortable for the rest of their lives. If you're looking for two tiny best friends who will fill your home with love, these sweet Chihuahuas are what you are looking for.

Story
Please note that this dog is currently located in TX and will be transported once adopted. Our application can be found at haydudeequine.org. Hi, I’m Gidget, and I’m basically a tiny social butterfly in a dog suit! 🦋🐶 I’m a 10-month-old, 8-pound Pug/Chihuahua mix (our best guess), and while I may be little, my personality is anything but! I’m super outgoing, incredibly social, and absolutely convinced that everyone I meet is my new best friend. Two-legged? LOVE them. Four-legged? LOVE them too! I have an enthusiastic, playful style and I'm always ready to make friends, chase around with my buddies, or join whatever fun is happening. I'm the kind of girl who doesn't want to sit on the sidelines—I want to be right in the middle of the action! My happy, confident personality makes me a blast to be around, and I bring a whole lot of fun packed into my tiny 8-pound body. I'm looking for a family who will appreciate my playful spirit, keep me busy, and let me be the outgoing little socialite that I am. If you want a pint-sized pup with a giant personality and a heart full of love, I'm your girl! Come meet Gidget—your new tiny best friend! 💗 Apply to adopt Gidget at haydudeequine.org. 🐾✨
