Meet Earl Earl is a 3-year-old, 11-lb Chihuahua mix with the sweetest soul and a heart full of love to give. He came from a hoarding situation and was once very scared and shy, but with patience and kindness, Earl has truly blossomed and continues to come out of his shell more every day. When Earl arrived, he had lost patches of fur from lack of care, but his coat is already starting to grow back and is expected to be beautiful once fully healed. What he may have lacked in the past, he makes up for now with endless affection—Earl adores his people and would happily spend most of his day curled up in your lap, soaking in cuddles and attention. Earl is just discovering what it means to be a dog. He has recently learned about toys and is beginning to play and enjoy them, which is incredibly heartwarming to watch. He gets along  with older kids who respect his space, but has not been around cats.  Earl would probably be fine with another non-reactive dog, but would also do great as an only dog.  He spent his first 3 years having to share his space, food, and time with many other dogs and is ready for it to be  "All About Earl."   He is crate trained and sleeps perfectly through the night in his crate. Before coming to Pittsburgh, Earl had never been outside, so he will need a patient adopter willing to continue working with him on outdoor potty training. He is currently pee-pad trained and has done a great job keeping his crate clean. Earl is truly a diamond in the rough—a gentle, loving boy who just needs someone ready to give him the love, patience, and security he has always deserved. He is neutered and up to date on vaccinations. If you’re looking for a loyal lap companion with a beautiful spirit, Earl may be your perfect match ##2644341##

Pete is an affectionate puppy who loves to cuddle and play Pete is a chihuahua, Italian greyhound mix who loves chasing toys and running laps just as much as he loves to cuddle up in your lap. Pete is 5 months old with lots of puppy energy and love to share. Despite his small stature( 5 pounds), Pete plays well with his 75 pound foster friends in his foster home. Luna and Harry must stay together for Harry's sake. He is the more nervous and tends to shy from new things. Their brother Henry we were able to separate after many months of work with Henry going to visit for an hour or so and then extending the time. Sadly this didn't work for Harry. They are 3 1/2 years old. They had never been outside and we had to acclimatize them to the real world. It took a year before they would willingly walk out the door on leash. Both are very sweet dogs once they get to know you which doesn't take long. They are pee pad trained but are going outside now. Small children are not recommended as the pair are not well socialized with small kids and the pups would probably react badly to pulling or trying to be picked up the little ones. They do well with some dogs but not all they meet, with a little work they can adjust.
