Story
About Me: Name:  Ramsey Breed (or best guess):  Chihuahua or mix Approximate Age:  2 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 14 lb Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: Patient Adopter Why In Rescue:  Stray/lost dog Profile:  Ramsey came from a local animal control after being found as a stray/lost dog.  He is a typical Chihuahua in that he takes time to warm up to new people, so doesn't want to be a dog that you take everywhere and expect to love everyone.  He is a sweet guy to those he bonds with and wants to be petted and get attention.  We don't have a background on him, so don't know if he lived with other dogs, or how he is with children.  He will likely need work on housetraining as we don't know his prior potty trained status.  Ramsey has been updated on vet care and neutered, and now just needs a loving home. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS December 8, 2023, 7:19 pm

Story
About Me: Name: Winnifred Banks Breed (or best guess): Chihuahua mix Approximate Age: 3 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 7 lb Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: Patient adopter Why In Rescue: Stray/lost dog Profile:   From Winnifred’s foster mom: “ &#239&#187&#191This little girl is amazing. In a home setting she can still be skittish but is showing great strides already. She seems to be housetrained, she got me up to go the bathroom last night. I’m seeing her personality coming out every hour. She’s doing well with my dogs. She is such a sweetie and she loves my husband. I think she likes the quiet, laid back atmosphere of our home.she slept on our bed along side our other dogs last night. She’s a good girl.”   Winnifred Banks is a cute little girl but she seems to have had a tough past.  She is a very sensitive girl, who will tell you all about the drama if she gets scared.  She is looking for an adult only family where she will be allowed to adjust at her own pace.  Winnifred really loves the people she develops a bond with, but even with them, if they reach for her collar, she may scream.  She does love it when she is allowed to jump up into her person's lap, and even sometimes perches on a shoulder like a parrot, but she prefers not to be picked up.  So while we know she will be a fun and loving pet for the right person, she isn't going to be a fit for every home.  If you are looking for an adorable little drama queen who wants to call the shots, Winnifred may be the perfect fit!  We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation.  Winnifred was a stray/lost dog, so we don't have a history or background for her to know if she lived with other pets or if she was housetrained.   If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. Story
About Me: Name: Dominio Breed (or best guess): Chihuahua mix Approximate Age: 6 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 12 lb Adoption Fee: Reduced Fee $300 Requirements: Patient Adopter Why In Rescue: Owner passed away Profile: Dominio has been with Bichon and Little Buddies for over 9 months as we worked with him to have him become comfortable with humans other than his owner.  When he was surrendered, we were told he is paranoid - and that does fit him.  He gets worried when he has a tag on his collar or when he is wearing a sweater.  He has stranger danger, so isn't going to want to be in a household where people are coming and going a lot or where he is expected to go visiting.  While he has some issues, he is a funny and loving guy to the people he has bonded with.  He will sit excitedly, waiting for one of his chosen ones to kneel down and open his kennel door so he can leap out and give a hug.  It is now time for him to venture out and find a family of his own.  While he lived with other dogs in his previous home, at the shelter there are a number of dogs he doesn't get along with - primarily males, so he may do best as an only dog or a female dog with a slow introduction. If you are looking to adopt a dog that really needs you, Dominio may be that guy.  He is an athletic little guy who will climb up to the top of his kennel so he can look out and see what is going on.  If you can offer Dominio a patient and loving home, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can discuss more things about him. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. Story
Hi Biggie Paws 🐾 Friends ! We would like you to meet this adorable group of puppies. They are approximately 6 weeks old, vary in weight from 1 to 2 pounds and look like Chihuahua Mix’s. They are staying in Twin Lakes, WI while they wait for their Fur-Ever Families. 🥹All the puppies are VERY tiny and new to the world, so they stay together in a pet corral, potty on puppy pads, eat, wrestle and sleep with each other and LOVE ❤️ everyone and everything !! Note: knowing the puppies are …and will continue to be pretty tiny, please be smart 🤓 if considering adopting with smaller humans in the home.Like most puppies - or let’s be honest, most anyone …they LOVE ❤️ being given LOTS of attention, rubs & snuggles. 🤗 When they aren’t playing with each other, they enjoy chewing on shoe laces, fingers and whatever else they can get in their mouths. 🫢-> Teddy - is the pup with the most gray 🩶 color in his coat. -> Frankie - is the whitest 🤍 of the pups, and the smallest of the litter. -> Lainey - is the princess of the litter …the ONLY female 💕 and has darker golden 🧡 tones in her coat.-> Archie - is currently the larger of the pups, and has a light golden 💛 coat.-> Harvey - has darker golden 🧡 tones in his coat like his sister Lainey. In time for adoption, all the puppies will have had their age appropriate shots 💉 and be microchipped. Each puppy has an adoption fee of $500 plus a $100 spay or neuter deposit. The $100 deposit will be refunded once proof of their timely spay or neuter is given to Biggie Paws. 🐾If interested in being considered to adopt any of the puppies, please fill out an adoption application under the link below.http://www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
Hi Biggie Paws Friends! My name is Roman and I’m looking for my forever home. I am about 1 year old, around 7 pounds and I look like a Chihuahua mix. If you’re looking for a sweet and loyal friend to join your family, look no further! I just LOVE to be near my humans - my foster family says that I’m great at cuddling and giving kisses. ♥😍♥They also tell me I can be lazy at times, but I prefer the term ‘selectively motivated’. 😉 If my foster family is anywhere near a couch or bed, I’ll hurry to meet them there and insist they join me for a little cuddle time! I’m a dog who values a good nap, I truly appreciate a comfy couch, I look forward to a nice siesta… you get the idea! 💤 If my humans are nearby, I’m also perfectly content to relax in my crate, I’ll even eat my food in the crate too. When I’m not relaxing, I LOVE to play with my cat friend and I’ve discovered that I love my new Nylabones! I’m great at going to the bathroom outside or even on pads if needed, but I'm still working on learning some basic commands. You see, I’ll usually come when called but only if it's said nicely - in a lighthearted tone. If not, I’ll think you’re mad and get scared (and not listen) - I’m working on that! 😊- Roman hasn’t been very food-motivated or very interested in toys, but he may just need a little time. He also seems to be fine with other dogs, his foster family doesn’t have any, but he doesn’t seem to react to them when they walk by when he's outside. Roman discovered he doesn’t really love to be around kids …so an adult only home would be a better fit for this guy. 👆 He does ok walking on a leash but likes to lead the way (which may be toward a napping spot!) but will stop if there is any tension on the leash. Roman is up to date on all his age appropriate shots, microchipped, neutered and is available for adoption for a fee of $450. http://www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550
