About Me: Name: Cha Cha and Crepe Breed (or best guess): Chihuahua and Chihuahua mix Approximate Age: 1 year Gender: female and male Approximate Weight: 6 lb and 8 lb Adoption Fee: $800 for the pair Requirements: Loving adopter Why In Rescue: Texas Transfer Profile:  Cha Cha and Crepe came to us from Texas after they ended up into a rescue there. They are quite bonded, and Crepe likes to make sure Cha Cha is safe.  They are sweet dogs even though Crepe does have a bit of a bark when people walk past their kennel run.  When they were in a foster home, they loved to snuggle with the humans.  They would be happiest in a home with no other dogs, or only small dogs.  They weren't too happy about the large dogs in their foster home.  They have had a lot of changes in their lives recently, so they need to have a chance to figure out their new life.  Are you the one that can give this pair some stability in life?  Please fill out the preadoption application at www.bichonrescues.com if interested in them. We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $200 - $550 depending on the age of the dog, which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $75 (up to $230 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $75 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS February 20, 2024, 3:42 pm

About Me: Name: Fiona Breed (or best guess): Mixed - possibly Chihuahua-Yorkie Approximate Age: estimated 5 yr Gender: female Approximate Weight: 6 1/2 lb Adoption Fee: $450 Requirements: Loving adopter Why In Rescue: Stray/lost dog Profile:  Fiona was a stray/lost dog in Milwaukee County.  She is a sweet and quiet girl, that would love a more quiet home without a lot of commotion.  She loves to curl up in her bed at the shelter and take a nice nap.  Because she was a stray, we don't know her history, so don't know if she lived with other pets or with children, or if she was housetrained.  She was spayed and had her teeth cleaned, and is on some antibiotics for some mild skin infection she has, likely from having fleas before she came to us.  Are you the one to show Fiona that there are loving people out there that will take care of her and love her forever?  Please fill out the preadoption application at www.bichonrescues.com if interested in her. About Me: Name: Domino Breed (or best guess): Chihuahua mix Approximate Age: 6 yr Gender: Male Approximate Weight: 12 lb Adoption Fee: Reduced Fee $300 Requirements: Patient Adopter Why In Rescue: Owner passed away Profile: Domino has been with Bichon and Little Buddies for over 9 months as we worked with him to have him become comfortable with humans other than his owner.  When he was surrendered, we were told he is paranoid - and that does fit him.  He gets worried when he has a tag on his collar or when he is wearing a sweater.  He has stranger danger, so isn't going to want to be in a household where people are coming and going a lot or where he is expected to go visiting.  While he has some issues, he is a funny and loving guy to the people he has bonded with.  He will sit excitedly, waiting for one of his chosen ones to kneel down and open his kennel door so he can leap out and give a hug.  It is now time for him to venture out and find a family of his own.  While he lived with other dogs in his previous home, at the shelter there are a number of dogs he doesn't get along with - primarily males, so he may do best as an only dog or a female dog with a slow introduction.  Domino went for a short home visit with a volunteer to see how he would be in a home.  He had issues with other dogs in the house when the foster mom had food.  We are hoping for an only dog home for him to lessen the chance for issues if he decided to try to guard his person or his food.  He did warm up to visitors with some time, but will likely always need a slow introduction.   If you are looking to adopt a dog that really needs you, Domino may be that guy.  He is an athletic little guy who will climb up to the top of his kennel so he can look out and see what is going on.  If you can offer Domino a patient and loving home, please fill out the pre-adoption application and we can discuss more things about him. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com. Story
I must go home with my littermate "Kojo"Hi ya, my name is Pebbles and I am a feisty little senior. My brother, Kojo, and I were surrendered to a shelter in Louisiana when our person passed away. It was very sad and the situation was a tad bewildering for us. We find comfort by being together so I must insist on finding a home with Kojo; you may be familiar with the expression ‘take two, they're small'. Since there was nothing holding us down south, we decided to start our new life in Wisconsin and hopped aboard a transport to WCHS. I must admit I am not a fan of frigid winter temperatures but think Wisconsin is beautiful when the mercury rises; I even find snow a bit enjoyable. I am friendly and outgoing and think it is important to get exercise each day. After a nice walk in the great outdoors, I would love a comfy cozy bed placed strategically in a sunbeam where I could nap with my brother. I am a wee lass, only about 8 pounds; I would fit on your lap with room to spare for Kojo. I am not opposed to being picked up when the situation warrants it, but I like to walk on my own four paws. I promise to keep you entertained and smiling each day with my whimsical streak. If you are looking for a pair of pooches with loads of love to give, I believe your search is over; we can make a wonderful family. If you are looking for a fun time stop by, check us out and let the games begin.#2

Story
I must go home with my littermate. "Pebbles"Hello, my name is Kojo and I am hoping for a calm and tranquil home where I can relax, soak up warm sunbeams, take nice walks and be showered with tender scratches. I came to WCHS from an over-crowded shelter in Louisiana; I made the trip with my dear sister, Pebbles. I adore Pebbles and need to find a home with her; I have been with her my whole life and I gain confidence from her. We had very nice home in Louisiana and were brought to the shelter when our person passed away. I must confess that the loss of my person and all the changes I've been through have me a bit discombobulated so I will need a patient family who will give me the time I need to blossom. If someone gives me a little time to be comfortable and come out of my shell, my true sweet nature emerges. I am friendly and affectionate; at only 12 pounds I should fit nicely on any lap. I am OK with you gently picking me up if I need a boost for some reason, but I really do like to walk on my own four paws so I would prefer not to be babied and carried everywhere. I do enjoy tasty morsels so perhaps I could keep my brain busy and engaged by trying some nose work games or searching for treats in a foraging mat. I am quite handsome and promise to be a loyal companion forever; I think we could make a spectacular family. I hope you stop by to meet me and Pebbles; my charm is sure to melt your heart.#2

Shine bright like a diamond! 💎 and this little “guy” sure does! Guy Diamond has arrived at Biggie Paws 🐾 Rescue and has been sparkling ✨ ever since! He came along with his band of Trolls pups from Texas. This litter of Chihuahua mixes is lucky to be here after an emergency c-section on Halloween 🎃 night! That makes them about 12 weeks old and at 4 pounds, they should stay pretty small. Guy Diamond, Chenille, Branch, King Peppy and Satin, along with their mom, Melody, are all rescued (from the Bergens) and ready for adoption. Diamonds are known to be tough, 💪🏼 and Guy Diamond is no different. He’s always ready to take on his brothers and is known to be the dominant one. He does have a softer side though and loves 🩵 to snuggle up in a doggie bed with his furry friends or on your chest with his little Troll nose up in your neck! Since he’s still young yet, Guy is working on pottying skills. 🚽 Leash and crate training are also things he has yet to work on. He is good with other dogs, kids, and cats 🐈 so he would do well in just about any type of home! 🏡 Guy Diamond is being fostered in Raymond, WI. He is microchipped and UTD on all his age-appropriate shots. 💉 His adoption fee is $500 plus a $150 spay & neuter deposit which will be refunded once proof of his timely ⏰ neuter is submitted. Story
Hi there Biggie Paws family, my name is Chubs! I’m here in Wisconsin with my siblings looking for my forever family - maybe it could be you!? Let me tell you a little bit about myself so you can see if we’ll be a good match. I can’t wait to start having fun with my family. I am a sweet boy that looks like a Chihuahua/Dachshund Mix, I’m about 10 weeks old - so I haven’t learned much of the puppy basics yet …we can work on that together! I’m around 9 pounds, so I’m the perfect size for your lap! I’m working on pad training until the weather is a little more cooperative anyway! I would also like to learn how to walk on a leash someday and maybe go in one of those crate things (right now, I sleep in a playpen with my siblings). I may be a little timid at first but I soon warm up and you’ll see my goofy, spunky personality come out! I am energetic, very curious and get along great with other dogs. If you think I would be a good fit for your family and you’re interested in being considered to adopt me, please fill out an adoption application under the link below!I’m microchipped, neutered and up to date on all my age appropriate shots. I am currently being fostered in Kenosha, WI. My adoption fee is $500 - I can’t wait to meet you! http://www.biggiepawsrescue.orgDATCP # 494550

Story
About this Dog: Name: Jumanji Breed: Pomeranian Approximate Age:  8 yr Gender:  Male Weight:  around 10 lb Adoption Fee:  $450 Why in Rescue:  puppy mill survivor Requirements: fenced yard or secure potty area Scroll down to learn more! Please fill out the adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog if you are interested in meeting one of our dogs.  If clicking on the link doesn't work, just copy/paste into a browser to get to the application.  Jumanji came from a commercial breeder who was no longer going to use him for breeding.  He is a sweet guy becoming more comfortable with human handling everyday.  He tends to spin in circles, likely from living in a kennel for so long.  This may get better after he figures out he has more space to move around than just a kennel run.  He has been neutered and had his teeth cleaned, and is now ready to find a loving home. Dogs from commercial breeders are generally undersocialized (often scared/shy/skittish), and probably never lived in a house.  They need to learn things like how to walk on a leash, go up stairs, and what things like television is.  They will need a patient adopter who will give them the time they needs to adjust and learn to trust people.  Every baby step forward needs to be celebrated, and the dog needs to be accepted for who they are at each step.  Some dogs can adjust quickly and learn how to be a loved pet pretty easily.  Others take a long time to even be comfortable with things like walking through the house.  No matter how far and how fast the breeder dogs progress, they are wonderful dogs and deserve a great home after being used the first part of their lives for making puppies.  A fence (or at least a fenced in potty area) is highly recommended and may be required for certain dogs.  Another small dog in the house can also help many former breeders adjust faster to life in a home and may be required in some cases. If considering adopting a former breeding dog, the following article is good to read to help you understand the special needs these dogs may have.  http://nowisconsinpuppymills.com/mill-survivors.html   We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.     The adoption procedures are listed below.  Priority is given to potential adopters who fill out the application on our website.  If a listing is on the adoption websites, we are still accepting applications.  The listing is removed once we have received a sufficient number of applications or the pet leaves the shelter.   Adoption Procedures: 1.  Completely fill out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog.  Any missing information may have us moving onto another application. 2.  If you application is approved, we will contact you to come meet the adoptables that you are interested in.   3.  If it is a match, you will complete the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.  Please be prepared to take your adopted pet home when you come meet him/her.  In most cases, you will be able to take the pet home the same day.   4.  If you have filled out an application and we haven't contacted you within a week, we may have missed your application, the pet may have been adopted by another applicant, or you may have been missing information on your application.  You may contact us to find out the status of your application at this time.  Please give us a week to process your application before contacting us! For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc All dogs are seen BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  Bichon and Little Buddies is run by volunteers who have full time jobs in addition to the hours they spend with the rescue dogs.  Having an application on file assures us that the potential adopter is really interested in adopting a dog.  It also assists us in placing dogs in homes where both the dog and new owners are happy.  The application puts you under no obligation to adopt a dog from Bichon and Little Buddies. The Dog Pre-Adoption Application can be found at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog Thanks for thinking about adopting your new pet!More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.
