Story
About Me: Name: Bright Frankie Breed (or best guess): Mini Aussie/Chihuahua ? Approximate Age: 2 yr Gender: Female Approximate Weight: 14 lb Adoption Fee: $495 Requirements: Loving Family Why In Rescue: stray/lost dog Profile:  Bright Frankie was found as a stray/lost dog in Milwaukee County and no one came for her so she is looking for a new family.  We don't have a history or background on her and breed/age are our best guesses.  Frankie appears to be a double merle color and is deaf.  She is a sweet and loving dog just waiting for a home of her own.   We do put the needs of the dog's first, so it is nothing personal if we determine a particular dog isn't suitable for your specific home and living situation. If interested in adoption, the first step is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  If link isn't clickable, please copy/paste or visit http://www.bichonrescues.com.  Please note, filling out inquiry forms on Petfinder or Adoptapet and/or their application forms does not constitute an application for one of our dogs.  Priority in responding to inquires and applications is always to the applications filled out on our website, time constraints limit the number of other inquires we can reply to. We do our best to evaluate the dogs while they are with us, but they sometimes act different in the shelter environment than they do in a home.  Many times we do not know the actual breed/mix or age of the dog, in that case we use our best guess as to breed and age.   We are located in Mukwonago, WI.  Adopters must come to us, we do not ship our dogs.  Please do not apply for a dog until you are ready to adopt.  Once an application is approved you will be notified by email to make an appointment to meet the dog.  All dogs are seen by appointment only. The adoption fee through Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue is $495 for most adults and up to $650 for puppies which includes Wi State Sales Tax.  Included in this fee is your new companion who will be spayed/neutered, have a current Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (as required by state law), current on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested (if old enough) and started on preventative, microchipped, and given a general wormer.  Other medical needs will also have been taken care of, such as dentals and treating ear infections.  To assist you and your new pet in adjusting to life together, you may chose to take an 8 week age appropriate obedience training course at For Pet's Sake Dog Training in Mukwonago, WI for $100 (up to $260 value).  You may opt to take Puppy Kindergarten, Adult Beginners, or Small Dogs Big Hearts.  You must register for the class within 90 days of adoption for the reduced fee.  For more information on the classes visit www.forpetssake.cc  More important information: ***We are a Wisconsin based rescue and do not ship our pets.  If you are considering adoption you must be willing to drive to meet and adopt the pet, as well as bring the pet back to us if the adoption doesn't work.  We adopt primarily in WI and IL, but will consider applicants in MN, IA, and MI.*** ***Please do not set up an appointment to meet the animals until you are ready to take your pet home.  If the meeting results in a match, you can often take the dog/cat home the same day or within a couple days if the medical care hasn't been completed.  We are not able to hold pets for adopters beyond this time.  Thanks for understanding.*** ***While we hope all of our adoptions lead to permanent homes for the animals we place, sometimes things just don't work out.  We do have a 30 day trial period.  For the first 30 days, if you or Bichon and Little Buddies decide that the adoption isn't a good match for either the humans or the pet, the adoption fee will be refunded minus $100 within 30 days of the return of the dog.  Bichon and Little Buddies also requires adopters to return the pet to us at any time that they are unable or unwilling to care for the animal anymore.*** ***We do not show dogs without an appointment.  The first step in adoption is filling out the pre-adoption application at http://www.bichonrescues.com/pre-adoption-form-dog  Please do not call/email until AFTER you have filled out an application.*** Bichon and Little Buddies is a State Licensed Rescue # 268555-DS January 24, 2026, 2:36 pm

Story
Profile:   Meet Nimble Breed: Smooth-Coated Chihuahua Age: Around 8 years old (estimated) Size: Tiny – about 5–6 pounds Coat: Smooth, silky black fur Adoption Fee: $495 About Nimble Nimble is a petite little lady with a big love for people. Found as a stray, her exact history is a mystery, but one thing is very clear: she thrives on human companionship. Nimble’s favorite place in the world is right next to her person — even better if that place happens to be your lap. She also enjoys being carried and will happily settle in for some quality cuddle time. Personality & Temperament People-Oriented: Nimble prefers human company over canine companions. Lap Lover: If you’re sitting down, chances are she’s trying to sit with you. Affectionate: Sweet, gentle, and happiest when close to her person. Expressive: When left alone, Nimble may voice her displeasure. She doesn’t destroy or get into trouble — she simply lets you know she’d rather not be alone. Other Pets Although Nimble currently lives in a home with other dogs, she wants nothing to do with them and can be aversive toward canine companions. She would do best as an only dog in a calm, low-key home where she can soak up all the attention. She now is starting to play with another of the Chihuahuas in the foster home, so could be a companion to another dog. Ideal Home Nimble would thrive in a home where: She can be the center of attention Her person is home often or enjoys carrying her along There are no other dogs, or very careful management is in place Her adopter enjoys a cuddly, devoted companion The Perfect Match If you’re looking for a tiny shadow who will follow you from room to room, warm your lap, and remind you just how wonderful it is to be loved by a small dog with a big heart, Nimble may be your perfect match. Interested in meeting Nimble? Reach out to learn more or schedule a meet-and-greet — she’s ready to find her forever person! Story
Brother/Sister and don't want to separate them. They've been together since birth. They will be 6 in March 2026. They are pad trained but Zelda will mistake carpeting at times. Ideally do great with hard floors. They will take some time to get used to a new environment though (about 2 weeks) and will have some accidents during that time. Just want to set the bar so no surprises. They don't bark a lot either but postman or delivery they will alert you. They have been pretty well socialized since they were young and are not at all aggressive and will like someone more than anything. Zelda does lick a lot. Link is fixed but Zelda is not. Zelda is 5.5 lbs. and Link is 11 lbs. They do great with kids. They don't pick fights with cats, but Link will most likely avoid them. They've been around other dogs and never had a problem their either.

Story
Silas the mixed breed puppy's Story Silas is a tiny 2-month-old male puppy weighing just about 3 pounds, with a sleek black coat accented by white markings. He came into the shelter as a stray, and unfortunately no siblings or parent dogs were found with him. While we don’t know much about his early life, Silas has already shown that he’s resilient, curious, and ready to embrace a brighter future. Our best guess for Silas’s breed mix is Chihuahua with some Terrier, which means he’s likely to grow into a small but spirited companion. Like any puppy his age, Silas will need a family prepared for training, socialization, and the patience that comes with raising a young dog. In return, he promises plenty of affection, personality, and the chance to grow up knowing what it means to be safe and loved. He is working hard on potty training in Texas, however his new family should be prepared to do additional training while he learns the routine at his new home in WI. He is up to date on vaccines, dewormed and microchipped, and he comes with his medical records and interstate health certificate from a veterinary examination prior to leaving Texas, which certifies him to be in good condition. He will be arriving in Muskego, WI on Friday, February 6th, and will be available to meet, and take home if he is a good fit, by the first family to have placed an exclusive hold deposit as set out below. His adoption fee is $500, which will be used to support the many animals in our care whose medical bills far surpass their much lower adoption fee. He is available for an exclusive hold with a deposit of $250, which we give on a first come, first served, basis. The balance of the adoption fee is due upon meeting/finalizing the adoption on Friday February 6th. If upon meeting, he is not a good fit for your family, the deposit is refundable. We ask that you are serious about your intent to adopt before placing a deposit, so as not to prevent him from finding his forever family in the meantime, as we only accept one deposit per dog. If you’re not already familiar with our group, please feel free to visit our Group Page at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity If you are serious about this pup, please contact us at DogTrailRides@gmail.com. We take payments through Zelle, Venmo, or CashApp, or we can take card numbers over the phone and process them through Square. All of these methods provide a receipt. Thank you for supporting our efforts to bring Texas dogs north to loving homes! You can read more about us at https://facebook.com/TxRescueRiders (Texas Rescue Riders). Also feel free to join our Group Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/groups/TxRescueRidersCommunity (Texas Rescue Riders Community) where members can post directly. We cannot guarantee breed or age. We assign breed and age designations based on veterinary advice and information from the prior owner.
