Meet Riggs! Riggs is a little bundle of energy and affection who is always ready for his next adventure—or a cozy cuddle session afterward. He loves going for walks and especially enjoys time at the park where he can run, play, and burn off some of his enthusiasm. Riggs gets along well with the other dogs in his foster home. When Riggs came into the care of Valley Dogs, he was suffering from a hip injury that required a femoral head ostectomy (FHO). His veterinarian believes the injury was caused by some type of trauma, such as a fall, jump, or impact to the hip area that resulted in a fracture. Despite his injury, Riggs never let it slow him down. Even before surgery, he happily kept up with his four-legged companions. After surgery, he is simply continuing to enjoy life to the fullest. Riggs would thrive in an active home with a securely fenced yard, especially since he weighs less than 12 pounds. He would love a family that includes him in walks, outings, and everyday activities. While he has not been exposed to children in his foster home, he is expected to do well with respectful kids once he knows he is safe, loved, and part of the family. He would also enjoy having one or more canine companions to play with and help keep him entertained. Meet Kernel (aka Max), your soon-to-be best buddy! Hi there! My name is Kernel, but my foster mom affectionately calls me Max—and I kind of like it. I might come off a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll find me curled up in your lap, handing out kisses like it’s my full-time job. I get along great with the other pups in my foster home (they're all around 35 lbs. and under), and I’ve even had some fun with the neighbor kids! Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so the jury’s still out. I walk nicely on a leash—though sometimes I get a little excited and try to lead the way. A secure yard where I can zoom and sniff would be ideal, and I’d love a doggy sibling to hang out with while you’re out. Snuggle time is very high on my list of favorite things, so don’t be surprised if I sneak into your arms for a cuddle session. I’m potty trained, and while the doggie door is still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m getting the hang of it with practice! Life’s giving me a fresh start, and I’m ready to soak it all in—especially if it involves adventures, soft blankets, and someone to love. Bonus: my ears are ridiculously cute. Scrappy was born and raised in Arizona. He is a sweet little dog with a fun loving personality. He loves all people and wants all the pets he can possibly get. Unfortunately, after raising him for 5 years, our new work schedule does not allow us to give them the time and attention he needs and deserves. We are also moving to a home that does not have a yard. They spent most of their life running around outside and need a home they can do the same. Since he spent his time outdoors growing up, he only recently finished potty training. He loves cuddles and to play with his little stuffies. He is not fixed but only just out of date for his shots. He is a great dog and we just want to find a home where he can have the better life he deserves.

Like many small dogs, Archie is a bit wary of strangers and needs time to warm up, but when he does, he bonds deeply and becomes an incredibly loyal companion. He’s house trained, kennel trained, walks well on leash, and loves his daily outings. Archie would do best in a home without cats or children and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He lives with small and big dogs and gets along with both. He just needs a proper introduction period when meeting new dogs. Meet PIP #2! Pip is a little girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun. She's an active, fun-loving pup who is always ready for her next play session or adventure. Pip's two favorite things in the world are her chewy treats and playing with her foster sisters. She has a very high play drive and will go and go for hours before she's ready to settle, so she'd be best matched with at least one other dog around her size or slightly larger who truly loves to wrestle, chase, and play as much as she does. A calm or low-energy dog will likely find her to be a bit too much. Pip is very clever and curious, and if given the chance, she would happily dash off to explore the world. She will need a secure, well-fenced yard and a structured environment to help keep her safe. She is little and incredibly fast, so it's important that her new family is vigilant about doors, gates, and any potential escape routs.  Pip is house trained and crate trained. However, she doesn't know how to walk nicely on a leash yet. She will need someone patient and willing to teach her the basic skills and manners. The good news is she is eager to learn. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and some time, she'll blossom into an even more wonderful companion. Ava is a darling and sweet girl. Very shy at first but, with patience she comes around in no time. She has been doing great at adoption events. Loves her doggy friends and foster mom too. She came into rescue through the shelters referral program. The family needed help and the shelter got them in touch with us. She came into rescue with 2 precious puppies. And she was an excellent mother. Ava is vaccinated. But, still needs to be spayed. Which is included in her adoption package. We are just waiting for her to recover fully from having puppies. All dogs in rescue are required to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated against parvo/distemper & rabies. We microchip them all and get heartworm test & 6 months of hw preventative for them. Ava would love a calm and loving family. One that will let her snuggle on the couch with them. And one that will give her nice walks around the neighborhood plus chicken on top of her kibble. She loves that the most!
