Meet Kernel (aka Max), your soon-to-be best buddy! Hi there! My name is Kernel, but my foster mom affectionately calls me Max—and I kind of like it. I might come off a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll find me curled up in your lap, handing out kisses like it’s my full-time job. I get along great with the other pups in my foster home (they're all around 35 lbs. and under), and I’ve even had some fun with the neighbor kids! Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so the jury’s still out. I walk nicely on a leash—though sometimes I get a little excited and try to lead the way. A secure yard where I can zoom and sniff would be ideal, and I’d love a doggy sibling to hang out with while you’re out. Snuggle time is very high on my list of favorite things, so don’t be surprised if I sneak into your arms for a cuddle session. I’m potty trained, and while the doggie door is still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m getting the hang of it with practice! Life’s giving me a fresh start, and I’m ready to soak it all in—especially if it involves adventures, soft blankets, and someone to love. Bonus: my ears are ridiculously cute. MEET ARCHIE!  Archie is a 4-year-old, 17 pound Chihuahua mix with a big personality wrapped in a little body. He’s energetic, affectionate, and full of love — once he trusts you. Like many small dogs, Archie is a bit wary of strangers and needs time to warm up, but when he does, he bonds deeply and becomes an incredibly loyal companion. He’s house trained, kennel trained, walks well on leash, and loves his daily outings. Archie would do best in a home without cats or children and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. He lives with small and big dogs and gets along with both. He just needs a proper introduction period when meeting new dogs. Archie is not a fan of car rides and is happiest just hanging out at home with his person.
