Story
Meet PIP #2! Pip is a little girl with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun. She's an active, fun-loving pup who is always ready for her next play session or adventure. Pip's two favorite things in the world are her chewy treats and playing with her foster sisters. She has a very high play drive and will go and go for hours before she's ready to settle, so she'd be best matched with at least one other dog around her size or slightly larger who truly loves to wrestle, chase, and play as much as she does. A calm or low-energy dog will likely find her to be a bit too much. Pip is very clever and curious, and if given the chance, she would happily dash off to explore the world. She will need a secure, well-fenced yard and a structured environment to help keep her safe. She is little and incredibly fast, so it's important that her new family is vigilant about doors, gates, and any potential escape routs.  Pip is house trained and crate trained. However, she doesn't know how to walk nicely on a leash yet. She will need someone patient and willing to teach her the basic skills and manners. The good news is she is eager to learn. With consistency, positive reinforcement, and some time, she'll blossom into an even more wonderful companion. Because of her energy level, and her current discomfort around kids, Pip needs an adult only home. She is looking for a family who has time to spend with her, will keep her mentally and physically engaged, and will enjoy her silly antics and affectionate heart. If you're looking for a lively, clever little sidekick and have a playful resident dog for her to share zoomies and long play sessions with, Pip might be the perfect new member of your family.July 10, 2026, 8:28 pm

Please note this dog is NOT an official Underdog dog, and you will be connected with the person who has the dog. Please Contact (Current Owner of Dog):  Alexis Kaufman; 480-440-3828; lexymosh@gmail.com  MEET  TIGER #3!! Meet Tiger, a 10-year-old brindle Staffordshire Terrier–Dachshund mix with short legs, a sturdy build, and a huge personality packed into one compact body. Tiger is crate trained, playful, goofy, affectionate, and absolutely convinced that lap dogs come in every size. His favorite thing in the world is being close to his people, whether that means curling up beside you on the couch or soaking up every bit of attention he can get. Tiger loves adults and bonds quickly with anyone willing to shower him with affection, making him a wonderful companion for someone looking for a loyal best friend. He does have an independent streak and a talent for trying to sneak out if given the opportunity, so a secure home and watchful owner are a must. Tiger would do best as the only pet in an adult-only home, as he does not get along with cats, dogs, or children. He’s happiest in a calm environment where he can be the center of attention and spend his golden years being adored exactly the way he believes he deserves. Meet Kali—a lovable, loyal little lady with a big personality! Kali is the perfect blend of curious and cuddly. She’s an explorer at heart and enjoys checking out her surroundings, but she’s no troublemaker—Kali does great at home even when left alone. True to her dachshund roots, she’s got a strong prey drive and loves chasing birds or the occasional feral cat, so she’ll do best in a home without small pets like cats, guinea pigs, or reptiles. Kali lives for park days and adores playing chase with her doggie pals. She’d thrive in a home with a secure backyard (she is part dachshund, after all—digging is in her DNA!) and would love a furry sibling to hang out with while her humans are away. She gets along well with other dogs her size. Kali isn’t shy about expressing herself—if she thinks she’s missing out on the fun, she’ll let you know with a few vocal opinions. :) When the day winds down, Kali transforms into a total cuddlebug. She’ll gently nuzzle in close, letting you know she’s ready for some cozy snuggles and a little extra love. This sweet girl is ready to bring joy, adventure, and a whole lot of love to her forever family. EMAIL ADOPT@VALLEYDOGS.ORG to meet Kali and see for yourself what a gem she is!

Story
🌸🐾 Meet Serotina: Your New Best Friend! 🐾🌸 For the past 2 months, Serotina has been busy being the absolute best mama to the Cherry Blossom Litter—keeping her babies safe, fed, warm, and loved while they’ve grown from tiny little potatoes into playful puppies. 🥹🌸🐶 Now that her motherly duties are complete, it is finally her turn to be pampered, loved, and cared for! ✨ Personality & Background Serotina is a sweet, 3-year-old Dachshund/Terrier mix who quietly gives her whole heart. She came to us from a home with several dogs and no personal space, yet she has remained incredibly patient, kind, and endlessly nurturing. She is truly the definition of a gentle soul. 🏡 Her Ideal Home Serotina’s absolute favorite thing in the world is being with her person. Because of her past and her deep love for companionship, her dream home looks like: Company: Owners who are home often and won't leave her alone for long periods, OR a home with another chill, small dog to keep her company. The Setup: A cozy couch or a recliner where she can curl up right next to you. Serotina does not like being in a kennel, but she is fully potty trained and exceptionally well-behaved around the house!

Story
Champ is a 1 year old, 15 pound Dachshund mix who recently joined us and is looking for his forever home!To get started in the process of meeting this dog, please visit https://azfriends.org/testing/adopt.html to complete an adoption consultation form, and then come by the Adoption Center to meet with one of our adoption counselors. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In the event there is more than one home interested in the same animal, a lottery may be held that will include all families that are at our adoption center at the time we open the day the animal becomes available. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Dude is a 6-year-old male Dachshund with a heart of gold. He’s not the type to run up and greet strangers right away — he takes his time warming up to new people. But for those who are patient, the reward is a deeply loyal and affectionate companion. He would do best with a calm, patient adult or couple who understand that shy dogs aren’t broken — they just need time. No young children or other pets, please. If you’ve loved a timid dog before, you already know how special that bond becomes. If you’re interested, I’d love to have a short conversation before we meet, and I’m happy to arrange a slow introduction so he can meet you on his own terms.
