Meet Kernel (aka Max), your soon-to-be best buddy! Hi there! My name is Kernel, but my foster mom affectionately calls me Max—and I kind of like it. I might come off a bit shy at first, but give me a little time and you'll find me curled up in your lap, handing out kisses like it’s my full-time job. I get along great with the other pups in my foster home (they're all around 35 lbs. and under), and I’ve even had some fun with the neighbor kids! Cats? I haven’t met any yet, so the jury’s still out. I walk nicely on a leash—though sometimes I get a little excited and try to lead the way. A secure yard where I can zoom and sniff would be ideal, and I’d love a doggy sibling to hang out with while you’re out. Snuggle time is very high on my list of favorite things, so don’t be surprised if I sneak into your arms for a cuddle session. I’m potty trained, and while the doggie door is still a bit of a mystery to me, I’m getting the hang of it with practice! Life’s giving me a fresh start, and I’m ready to soak it all in—especially if it involves adventures, soft blankets, and someone to love. Bonus: my ears are ridiculously cute. Meet Duckie, an adorable little guy weighing 8 lbs but possessing a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger ‘tude!! At around two years old, Duckie is full of energy and loves to play. He enjoys entertaining himself with toys and zooming around. He gets along wonderfully with dogs of all sizes, as well as cats, and is fantastic with children. The Duckster is quite the Velcro dog. When he’s not busy running around causing mischief, squeaking, or growling at his toys, he loves to snuggle right on top of you, showering you with kisses. He is incredibly affectionate and enjoys being held and carried around. Duckie embodies the typical chihuahua traits, being a bit yappy and overly protective of his family when it comes to strangers. Currently, he wears a belly band to assist with his marking. Having just been neutered, this, along with the belly band, should help him learn to do his business outside. Duckie has a medical condition that is currently well managed with daily medication and routine veterinary care. While he has experienced occasional seizure-like episodes, he has not been formally diagnosed with epilepsy. He thrives with a consistent routine and a loving caregiver who is comfortable giving medication and providing a calm, supportive environment. With the right home, Duckie can continue to enjoy a happy, playful and love-filled life.  So, if you’re in search of a companion who will entertain you, cuddle with you, and protect you from any scary monsters and things that go bump in the night, Duckie is the perfect match! Meet Kali—a lovable, loyal little lady with a big personality! Kali is the perfect blend of curious and cuddly. She’s an explorer at heart and enjoys checking out her surroundings, but she’s no troublemaker—Kali does great at home even when left alone. True to her dachshund roots, she’s got a strong prey drive and loves chasing birds or the occasional feral cat, so she’ll do best in a home without small pets like cats, guinea pigs, or reptiles. Kali lives for park days and adores playing chase with her doggie pals. She’d thrive in a home with a secure backyard (she is part dachshund, after all—digging is in her DNA!) and would love a furry sibling to hang out with while her humans are away. She gets along well with other dogs her size. Meet Fievel, an irresistibly charming unique brindle chihuahua mix, who might just have a hint of mouse in him with those oversized ears! This pint-sized pup is bursting with playful energy and thrives in the company of other lively dogs. Rescued from a difficult situation where he was fearful and hesitant to be touched, Feivel has made remarkable progress in his foster home. His foster family allowed him to acclimate at his own pace, and while he initially kept his distance from humans, he soon began to trust. Now, he showers them with affection, offering kisses, cuddles, and enjoying those delightful booty rubs and ear scratches. Although he’s still wary of being picked up, and sometimes quickly ends cuddle sessions if he gets spooked, we believe that with time and love, he will overcome all of his fear. Fievel is looking for that one-of-a-kind compassionate family with big hearts, plenty of patience, and well-adjusted furry siblings to help him continue his journey. With his adorable puppy antics, ferocious play growls, and a beagle-like bay that’s definitely chihuahua-pitched, he is sure to bring joy and laughter to his lucky family.
