Dachshund puppies and dogs in Torrington, Connecticut

When I look at this little lady I see the most adorable little “low rider” girl...just beautiful and I love her pretty coloring. Penny will be a lot of fun to the lucky family that adopts her! She is sweet, happy, spunky and good natured. Still being a youngster, she loves nothing more but running around playing with the other pups and her toys. She enjoys being around people and gets along great with the other dogs. My wish for Penny is to be adopted by a fun and active family that will include her in their everyday comings and goings. Penny and her sister Petra (also posted) were pulled from a local animal shelter. Penny is 5 ½ months old (dob 4/4/26) and weighs 21 pounds. She has been spayed, microchipped, fecal tested, current on all vaccinations, worming and is on heartworm and flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $400. Penny is being fostered in Tennessee. Once adopted she will be transported to her pickup location by a professional dog transport company. Our rescue ships to the New England area most weeks and her fee includes transportation. Due to state laws, we cannot accept applications from residents of Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island or Maine since we can’t adopt directly to those states.

Our best guess is that he’s a Dachshund/Chihuahua mix, but with animal rescue, breed is always a bit of a mystery! What we do know is that this little boy has plenty of sweetness and silliness packed into his tiny body. Gideon can be shy when he first meets you, so give him a little time to settle in and get to know you. Gentle encouragement, kind words, and tasty treats help him feel comfortable enough to let his personality shine. Before you know it, you’ll have a cute little boy running around your house, showing off his toys, making you laugh, and scooting close for affection. Other dogs are absolutely Gideon’s kind of company! He is fostered in a multi-dog household with both bigger dogs and little ones his size, and he loves having buddies to play with. His adorable back-and-forth zoomies and little tapping feet make his invitations pretty hard to resist. Imagine watching him bounce around with a canine sibling, turning an ordinary afternoon into their own little playdate. A home with a friendly, playful dog would give him a buddy to share all that fun with. Gideon also loves toys and is happy to carry a favorite around or entertain himself with a little solo playtime. He is very food-motivated and takes treats from your hand with the softest, gentlest touch. Those tasty rewards are a lovely way to get acquainted and give him something to look forward to as he learns your routine. Once he feels at home, Gideon is a sweet, affectionate boy who loves cuddling and being close to his favorite humans. Picture little paws pattering through your house, a toy proudly carried into the room, and this precious boy settling beside you after a good round of play.
