Rescue Story
Dale was found abandoned in a small crate in a parking lot alongside a German Shepherd puppy. They had been left there for at least two days without food or water. Since the day he was rescued, he has been safe and loved — and now he’s ready for a forever home that will never let him down again.
Personality
Dale is calm and content with his person — almost cat-like in his independence. He’s been lovingly compared to a “pet rock that talks.” He can grumble a little when picked up (he has opinions!), but he is incredibly sweet and happiest curled up in your lap, preferably under the covers.
He is the ultimate co-pilot: give him a blanket and a destination and he’s ready for the ride.
Training & Daily Life
Leash trained: Yes! He walks great and is working on ignoring other people and dogs.
Potty trained: Yes
Crate trained: Yes
When home alone: Comfortable in his crate. Once settled, he’ll happily cuddle up on the couch or bed waiting for you.
Where he sleeps: In bed — by your feet or curled up against you.
Ideal Home
Dale would thrive as the only dog in the home. He needs someone who understands (and appreciates!) classic Chihuahua traits — confidence, loyalty, and a little sass. Bonus points if you’ll knit him sweaters… even if he pretends to hate wearing them.

What He’s Working On
Dale is still polishing up basic obedience skills. He strongly believes he should be the only dog in any given space — park, sidewalk, or house — and can become reactive around other dogs. Removing him from the situation helps him reset. He’s confident and likes to be in control.
