Story
Bonded pair with Capone, they will need to be adopted together! I’ve been fostering these guys for the past month since their mom unfortunately passed away. Both of them are extremely sweet and want nothing more than to be cuddling with you on the couch or in bed. Chapo is still pretty nervous with new things, but I believe with time he will become more confident. They have been through a lot lately and took it very hard losing their mom. Capone struggles a little with separation anxiety so I believe it’s best for them to be with a family who won’t leave them alone for long periods of time. When I have to leave I kennel them together and that seems to be better than leaving them free roaming.

These pups are in Tukwila, Washington too!

Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster homeHi… I’m Ttoro 💛 I’m a 2-year-old boy, a tiny Chihuahua weighing just 3kg. I may be small, but I have a big heart—especially for my person. I was rescued just before it was too late, and for the past 6 months, I’ve been living in a foster home where I’ve learned what love feels like. Because of that, I’ve grown very attached to my person. I do like people… I really do. But sometimes, if someone I don’t know suddenly tries to touch me, I can get scared and react. It’s not because I’m mean— it’s because I’m trying to protect myself… and the person I love. The good news is, I’ve already been working on this, and I’ve gotten much calmer and better. If you give me a little time and don’t rush me, I’ll start to understand that I’m safe with you too. I get along okay with other dogs, but when it comes to food… I can be a little sensitive. Sometimes I worry someone might take it, so I might grumble a bit. (But if the other dog is bigger than me… I suddenly become very polite 😅) More than anything, I bond deeply with one person. And when I do, I want to stay close and protect them. That’s why I’m looking for someone who can love me in a calm and steady way— not too overwhelming, not too fast. Someone who will respect my space at first, let me come closer on my own, and gently show me the world is a safe place. If you understand small dogs like me—especially Chihuahuas— you’ll know that we love deeply, we just need trust to grow first. The good thing is… I’ve already lived in a home before. So I think I can adjust again pretty well, especially if you’re patient with me. I may be a little shy in the beginning, but once I choose you… I’ll be your tiny shadow, your loyal little guardian, your forever companion. Will you be my person? 💛

Story
🏠 Currently in a Vancvouer foster homeHi… my name is Kkamang 🖤I’m a 1 year and 6 month old Chihuahua mix boy, just 5kg (11 lbs) — small enough to fit in your arms, and hoping to fit in your heart too.I was rescued from a dog meat farm. Since the day I was born, I didn’t know what it felt like to have someone call my name. No warm arms. No soft whispers. I wasn’t a “someone” — I was just… there. Inside a metal cage, each day wasn’t about learning. It was about enduring. I learned how to be quiet. How to wait. How to survive. So when I first meet someone new, I pause for a moment. It doesn’t mean “go away.” It means, “Is it really safe this time?” But if you offer me a gentle voice… a small treat… a little patience, my tiny wall falls very quickly. Because the truth is — I like people. I always have. Once I know you, I’m much more affectionate than you’d expect. I’ll press my little body right next to you, sit close, and look into your eyes as if I’m asking for love. No one ever taught me how to be loved, but somehow, I know how to want it.I get along quietly and peacefully with other dogs too. I don’t cause trouble. I know how to share space and not feel lonely.Home life, though… that will be new for me. A house. Daily routines. Rules about where to potty. Time spent alone. I may make mistakes. I may be clumsy at first. But those moments won’t be because I’m lacking — they’ll simply be signs of a life I was never given the chance to learn. Please wait for me. Please teach me slowly. If you do, I will trust you with my whole heart. I will become a deeply loving, loyal little family member who believes completely in my person.I was born just to survive. Now, I want to live. I want a life where I don’t fear being sent back to a cage. A life where I don’t worry about being abandoned again. A life where someone calls my name every day. That’s why I’m looking for a family who will be patient as I learn home life step by step, who will use gentle voices instead of force, and who will promise that I will never return to a cage again. Will you be my very first family? Please let the rest of my life be remembered not for sadness — but for love. 🖤🐾

Story
Meet Melville, a 10 pound chihuahua mix with a big personality, a sensitive heart, and a truly one of a kind way of moving through the world. Melville is what we like to call a “grumbly zoomie snuggler.” He may be unsure at first, but once you earn his trust, you’ll be greeted with one of the most endearing welcomes you’ve ever seen. He’ll grab a toy, tuck his ears back, wag his curly little tail like crazy, and then melt into you for snuggles while softly whimpering with happiness. It’s his signature move, and it never gets old! Melville is a sensitive boy who can be fearful in new situations and around unfamiliar people, so he will need an adopter who understands that trust takes time. He thrives with patience, predictability, and someone who is willing to let him set the pace. Reading and respecting his body language is key. When he feels safe, his personality blossoms into something truly special and deeply loving. He loves nothing more than curling up to nap or watch TV with his person, often with a squeaky toy in tow because he rarely goes anywhere without one. But when the mood strikes, he transforms into a chaotic little comet, sprinting across the yard at full speed with joyful abandon! Watching him run, especially now that he’s gaining confidence and exploring more on his own, is both hilarious and heartwarming! While he has his occasional playful bursts, he’s overall a lower-energy companion who is happiest relaxing close to his person. Because he can be sensitive to new environments, Melville will do best a home with a fenced yard or private outdoor space where he can comfortably explore and take in the world at his own pace. Melville has a whole language of his own, complete with chatters, squeaks, and grumbly little noises that seem to narrate his day. He’s also a very enthusiastic foodie who believes all snacks are meant for him, so a little management and a sense of humor around food will go a long way. He has done well with other dogs, though he may do best with a calm, tolerant larger dog who won’t mind his fast paced, bulldozing style. He doesn’t play in a traditional way, but he does enjoy running alongside other dogs and being part of the action! Melville is estimated to have been born in August 2022 and weighs 10 lbs. He is a chihuahua mix who forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people and loves them fiercely once he feels safe. He’s looking for a calm, patient home where he can continue building confidence, feel secure, and be loved for exactly who he is. Melville will do best in a home with a yard or private outdoor space.  Melville’s adoption fee is $450. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Per our rescue policy, unless specifically noted in a dog's bio, we will not consider adoption applications from families with children under 5 years old.  Fill out an adoption application for Melville at: https://www.forgottendogsrescue.com/adoption-application ##2499756##
