Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Odin! Odin is a 2-year-old, 14 lb Chiweenie who is packed with personality, charm, and goofy little dog energy! This fun-loving guy is outgoing, confident, adventurous, and always ready to be part of the action. Odin loves going on walks, exploring with his people, and joining in on daily adventures. He walks well on leash and would thrive in a home that enjoys an active, social lifestyle. Odin is quirky, silly, and affectionate with his people. Once he bonds with you, he bonds deeply and becomes a loyal little sidekick who always wants to be nearby. He does well with other dogs, though he can sometimes put on a bit of a “tough guy” act toward bigger dogs while on leash. With continued structure, guidance, and positive socialization, he’ll continue building confidence and improving his manners in those situations. Odin is looking for a home that will embrace his spunky personality, keep him active and engaged, and give him lots of love and companionship. If you’re looking for a sweet, entertaining little adventure buddy with a big personality, Odin might just be your perfect match! Oden is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures and some videos of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-year-old female Chiweenie, about 15 pounds. Cherokee is a sweet yet shy girl. She gets very attached to her person and likes to follow around, sleep and cuddle with them. She has a very Doxie personality; smart, opinionated, LOVES to eat and sometimes be vocal. She does not like to share her house with other dogs regardless of temperament, so she needs to be an only dog OR with a human that is very dog pack savvy. She is long and low, with the typical Doxie body, so all the normal Doxie long back protection steps should be taken. Not too fat, ramps, steps and such to prevent her from jumping down from high places. She grows crazy long toenails too, so be prepared to clip and snip regularly! She lets you know when she has to go outside. If you like a dog that likes to get dressed up, she's your gal! Bring on the dresses and sweaters! She does not necessarily need a fenced yard but would love to go for walks and probably no kids under 10. Story
To see more pictures and some videos of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. Meet Gravis 💛 Gravis is a 2-year-old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) weighing about 15 pounds — the perfect compact companion with a huge heart. In December, six dogs were heartbreakingly abandoned in a cemetery. Only four were found alive — Tombey, Lillith, Wednesday, and sweet Gravis — and thankfully they made their way to safety. Gravis hasn’t let his rough start dim his joyful spirit one bit. Gravis is an adorable blend of playful puppy energy and devoted lap dog. He’s happiest when he’s: Wrestling with another playful pup Tossing around (and proudly de-stuffing!) his beloved toys Going for walks or zooming around the yard Sunbathing like a tiny king Snoozing peacefully in your lap at the end of the day He still has some charming puppy habits — like “helping” with gardening by digging small holes, collecting socks for safekeeping in his bed, and bravely alerting you to suspicious birds. On the bright side, he’s an excellent kitchen floor cleaner (no crumb left behind), a loyal bathroom security guard, and a dedicated playmate who will happily tire himself — and his doggy sibling — out. Gravis bonds especially closely with the woman in the home and may be timid around men at first. He does not have a mean bone in his body. He is potty trained, incredibly sweet, and keeps us laughing every single day. His ideal home would include: Another playful dog to wrestle and romp with He might also do well as an only dog as long as he gets his walks and exercise. A secure yard to run and explore Children age 8 or older (he gets nervous around younger kids) A patient family who will let his confidence continue to grow He gets along well with most dogs and does fine with cats. Gravis is ready for his forever home — one filled with playtime, sunshine, and plenty of cozy lap naps. To request an adoption application, please email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Could Gravis be the joyful little shadow you’ve been waiting for? 🐾 Adoption contract and fee applies. Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 10-month-old male Chihuahua mix, about 7 pounds. Born 6/30/25, one of the 4 members of "The Boy Band". Brother to Kikkoman, Tofu and Miso. Mochi is very playful and snuggly. He is cautious upon meeting new people and dogs but warms quickly. He sleeps in his crate at night but would surely prefer to share the bed with his humans. His potty training is about 80% complete. He is trained to use pee pads or newspaper indoors, and we’re getting him accustomed to using the outdoors to potty exclusively. He learned how to use our dog-door after only a few days of training, and is curious, therefore very trainable. He’s a quick learner and gets along well with other dogs. He reads social cues well and plays nicely. He walks well on a leash, and loves walks, especially with a small group of dogs, AKA “pack walks”. He is not reactive and does not bark excessively but does sometimes vocalize in response to noises of unknown origin. Because he is a puppy he loves to chew, so it’s good to supervise or limit his access to household objects that may be inappropriate dog toys. If he gets a hold of an item that is not suitable, we re-direct him to a dog toy or chew treat, and he does fine. Puppies love to chew! We think over time he will become more confident and out-grow his initial shyness. Mochi has a good appetite and is not a picky eater. If you are sitting on the couch, he will surely join you, and may follow you around the house, but does not appear to suffer from separation anxiety. He would be good in a household with other small dogs, and adults or older children. He’s unlikely to do well with small children due to his slightly timid nature. We do not know how he is with cats. He is a very well-adjusted little guy and can’t wait to meet you. If you’re looking to add a Smidget to your family, you can’t do any better than Mochi.
