Story
2 almost 3 years old, timid, but friendly loves to snuggle, very affectionate loves attention and very trainable. I don’t know how to post it here, but she does have a brother and it would be ideal if i could find a home for them together. I’m going to be traveling and I don’t have any way to care for them while I’m gone.

Story
First I want to say that we love Biscuit very much. She is an absolutely beautiful dog. After our Chihuahua passed from old age about two years ago, we waited a year and then traveled to Wenatchee WA to adopt Biscuit from Hands and Paws Rescue. She is 5 years old now. Our circumstance is that we lived in a four bedroom house when we adopted her, and now we live in a condo and have no yard. Biscuit has a lot of energy and she needs a yard. She needs someone very active who can wear her out daily. She loves fetch and will play fetch until she drops. We put her in training school but mom has had some health issues this year and is low energy. Dad has a very busy work schedule. We have a young kiddo whom we will need to explain this to somehow. Biscuit is good with kids but she does jump so the best kids would be ok with rough and tumble play. She needs additional training not to jump on people. She is only 12 pounds however. She does chew on things so she needs lots of chew toys.

Story
FOREVER OR FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Meet Blue 💙 Blue is a sweet 8-year-old Chiweenie who came to us after his owner passed away. He arrived with his beloved housemate, Jasmine, an 8-year-old Chihuahua who has become an important source of confidence and reassurance for him. Blue is deaf and relies on Jasmine to help him navigate the world, making their bond especially meaningful. Blue is a loving little guy who bonds deeply with his person. Once he knows you, he wants to be close and be part of your world. He also walks well on a leash, making him a nice little companion for leisurely strolls and exploring alongside his person. Because Blue can feel lonely when left on his own, he would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time and can provide him with the companionship and reassurance he craves. Although Blue is deaf, he does well with hand signals and is a wonderful example of how easily dogs can adapt when given patience, understanding, and love. Blue has been through a heartbreaking loss, but he still has so much love to give. A patient, devoted family—ideally one who can keep Jasmine by his side—could give this special boy the security, companionship, and love he deserves. Blue is up to date on vaccination, neutered and microchipped. Adoption fee for the bonded pair is $700.

Story
At just 10 months old, little Buttons already knew what it meant to be alone. She found herself in a busy shelter, surrounded by unfamiliar sounds and faces, wondering where she family had gone and why no one was coming back for him. Even with everything she had been through, Milo still greeted every person with a hopeful wag of his tail. sHe didn’t ask for much—just a soft bed, a gentle hand, a little patience, and someone to call his own. Buttons is still young, full of curiosity, and ready to discover all the wonderful things life has to offer. She dreams of a family who will take her on walks, teach her new things, cuddle with her on quiet evenings, and most importantly, promise never to give up on her. Her story started with a shelter door closing behind him. Now, he’s waiting for the door to his forever home to open. Could you be the family shes has been waiting for? ❤️🐾

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. To see more pictures and some videos of this dog, please visit our Facebook page and look under “photos” and then “albums”. 9-year-old female Chiweenie, about 15 pounds. Cherokee is a sweet yet shy girl. She gets very attached to her person and likes to follow around, sleep and cuddle with them. She has a very Doxie personality; smart, opinionated, LOVES to eat and sometimes be vocal. She is long and low, with the typical Doxie body, so all the normal Doxie long back protection steps should be taken. Not too fat, ramps, steps and such to prevent her from jumping down from high places. She grows crazy long toenails too, so be prepared to clip and snip regularly! She lets you know when she has to go outside. If you like a dog that likes to get dressed up, she's your gal! Bring on the dresses and sweaters! She does not necessarily need a fenced yard, but would love to go for walks and probably no kids under 10. She does need a bit more work on not pulling on the leash. Story
PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 7-year-old male Chiweenie ?, about 15 pounds. Don't let his age fool you! He is full of energy, love and beautiful coloring. His foster mom has two very docile Shih Tzu girls who tolerate his exuberance with patience. Ollie is learning boundaries and rules (do not lift your leg in the house, do not hump your foster sisters, do not walk on the living room end tables, sleep in your crate at night, etc.). He would do well with confident dogs and an owner who is not a pushover because he is smart enough to take advantage of a softie. He takes direction well! :) He has taken to the doggy door with little instruction. Though his foster mom has gates on the stairs, he figured out pretty quickly how to go through the balusters to access the upstairs of the house. He would do well with someone who is active and will keep him intellectually stimulated. Ollie just wants to love his people, take some adventurous walks, eat, snuggle in his favorite donut bed and be loved in return. 11-month-old male Chihuahua (terrier?) mix, about 10 pounds. Azriel is an energetic, fun-loving pup, equally ready for cozy snuggle time and acrobatic zoomie time! While his dark coat helps him blend into the shadows (and his belly fur is as silky as Illyrian wings), he loves to be the center of attention, part of the action, and top of the cuddle puddle. Our favorite aspects of Azriel include: (1) He’s a joy to play with, bringing smiles as he enthusiastically fetches his favorite toys, zooming up and down the halls! (2) He’s very playful with other dogs and enjoys romping around the yard with them. This can activate his mega-zoomies, which are hilarious to behold as he reaches top speeds, somehow whirling around various garden obstacles! (3) His ears!! The left ear pops, the right ear flops. It’s a very adorable signature pose. (4) He’s been very well-behaved overnight, easily heading into his crate for sleepy time, and staying quiet all night long. (5) He’s a fan of finding the warmth, whether that’s in a fuzzy blanket, lounging in a sunspot, or nestled in the crook of your arm. He happily and unashamedly hops up to his human and inserts himself into the best spot for a cozy group nap. (6) Azriel seems like he can be pretty emotionally attuned as well - one morning when I learned some sad news and shed a few tears, he came right over, plopped in my lap, and put his paws on my chest. I appreciated his kind warmth. Azriel also has a few areas he’ll need continued work on with his new family. (A) Azriel’s play style with other dogs can be a bit physical - heavy wrestling, play-chomping legs and tails, goofy yowling. We think he’d be best matched with another dog that enjoys physical play. His foster home includes an older dog that can tire of his horsing around, and he sometimes needs correction on when to leave her alone and not keep chomping. They mostly get along fine, but it’s good to make sure he’s not being too pushy or overwhelming. (B) He’s shown mild-moderate leash reactivity on walks. It seems to trigger more frequently when encountering larger dogs, while saying hi to smaller dogs generally goes ok. He’ll need continued training/correction to better contain his reactionary barking and lunging when he’s unsure of another dog. (C) When left home unsupervised, Azriel should be contained without access to anything you’d be sad to have damaged - cords, furniture, non-dog toy stuffies. He’s not a constant destroyer-of-things, but being a puppy brings out destructive chewing. He may grow out of this as he becomes older/more comfortable and he seems generally receptive to corrections in other contexts, but we recommend vigilance to start. Overall, Azriel is a joy to have around! He has so much love to give, and his silly moods and adorable pop-n-flop ears spark many smiles. He seems good with gentle, respectful children. His reaction to cats is unknown, though we suspect he’d try to play/chase. To request an adoption application, email smidgetrescue@hotmail.com Adoption contract and fee applies.
