Story
First I want to say that we love Biscuit very much. She is an absolutely beautiful dog. After our Chihuahua passed from old age about two years ago, we waited a year and then traveled to Wenatchee WA to adopt Biscuit from Hands and Paws Rescue. She is 5 years old now. Our circumstance is that we lived in a four bedroom house when we adopted her, and now we live in a condo and have no yard. Biscuit has a lot of energy and she needs a yard. She needs someone very active who can wear her out daily. She loves fetch and will play fetch until she drops. We put her in training school but mom has had some health issues this year and is low energy. Dad has a very busy work schedule. We have a young kiddo whom we will need to explain this to somehow. Biscuit is good with kids but she does jump so the best kids would be ok with rough and tumble play. She needs additional training not to jump on people. She is only 12 pounds however. She does chew on things so she needs lots of chew toys.

Welcome Maverick to CCPAL Foster Program. Maverick is a 4-year-old Chiweenie. He weighs about 19 pounds. He is good on a leash, good in a car. He is potty trained and very loyal to his person. He knows “go for a walk”, “stop”, “leave it”, “It’s the neighbor” and a few other commands. He is in a home and the owner is having some very big financial issues and need to find Maverick a new home. Maverick has some allergies to food and the food that he can is a Duck and Potato kibble. He has some allergies to grass. He has take Apoquel successfully to handle the allergies. He warms up slowly and is very loyal and bonded once he has bonded. He would be great for a senior couple or single wanting a companion. A nice yard for him to get exercise in would be nice or someone that could have the time to take him on a couple of walks would be great. He isn’t the social butterfly that some dogs are so a matching owner would be the best fit. He would be a great dog to alert you to someone at the door or something being off in the environment. He is good on walks and would help a senior be more active. He is in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He could go with children but we would like them to be teens. I think a quieter home would be best for this boy. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Welcome Toby to CCPAL Rescue. Toby is a 6-year old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). Toby lost his owner in death and the immediate family live on a farm with farm animals. They worry about his safety with those animals so they turned him over along with another dog for rehoming. We are happy to have Toby. He is outgoing, good on a leash, good with people including strangers. He weighs 13 pounds and is potty trained. He is learning to be crated and is a lovely dog. He will be with us while we look for his new forever home. He is neutered and will get all his vaccines all current while he awaits his new family to fall in love with his photo and video online. He is good with other dogs and would be fine with another dog or as an only dog. He is here in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washinton, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. He would be fine with a moderately active family and would be a great companion for a walker. He loves to walk. He would also be fine with children. We like them to be 8 or older. Scar is 6 years old he’s super playful and energetic he’s loves being around kids and is a family dog he has been experiencing seizures, and I’m not able to afford the medical care and treatment he needs right now. I’m really worried about his health and want to make sure he gets the proper care to manage his condition.
