FOREVER OR FOSTER HOME NEEDED: Meet Blue 💙 Blue is a sweet 8-year-old Chiweenie who came to us after his owner passed away. He arrived with his beloved housemate, Jasmine, an 8-year-old Chihuahua who has become an important source of confidence and reassurance for him. Blue is deaf and relies on Jasmine to help him navigate the world, making their bond especially meaningful. Blue is a loving little guy who bonds deeply with his person. Once he knows you, he wants to be close and be part of your world. He also walks well on a leash, making him a nice little companion for leisurely strolls and exploring alongside his person. Because Blue can feel lonely when left on his own, he would do best in a home where someone is around much of the time and can provide him with the companionship and reassurance he craves. Although Blue is deaf, he does well with hand signals and is a wonderful example of how easily dogs can adapt when given patience, understanding, and love. Blue has been through a heartbreaking loss, but he still has so much love to give. A patient, devoted family—ideally one who can keep Jasmine by his side—could give this special boy the security, companionship, and love he deserves. FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Bonnie is an absolute sweetheart of an 18 lb, Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix) – and she’s at that perfect age (5) where she won’t chew your shoes, but she also loves to go for walks. And did we mention she’s perfectly housetrained? Bonnie was surrendered to a shelter in California, and it’s obvious that she was very loved. She’s incredibly well-adjusted, chill, and happy. She's on the mend from cherry eye removal surgery and is doing great. Bonnie really loves going for walks! When she knows she’s going for a walk, she does the funniest little spins thanks to her long dachshund body. She's not typically a barker, but when she does speak up, it's to let you know someone's at the door — and her bark is surprisingly deep for such a little body, so consider her a built-in (adorable) alarm system. Bonnie's super motivated by food, but she LOVES a good game of tug-of-war or fetch. She’s fast too! She's deeply bonded to her people and doesn't love being left alone. She loves sleeping in bed with her people (if you want your dog to sleep in a crate at night, Bonnie would not be a good match for you). She would do best with family members who are home often, ideally in a standalone house. She gets along beautifully with her two small breed foster brothers, but having another canine sibling isn’t a requirement as long as she gets regular chances to socialize. Car rides are still a work in progress as she gets anxious but settles down beautifully if she can sit with a human passenger in the car. Her foster family takes her on lots of little car trips to learn that good things happen when she goes for a ride, and she will settle down on her own after a bit. She'll occasionally surprise you by popping up out of nowhere, running to you and launching herself into your lap but most of the time she just loves chilling with you, enjoying her squeaky toys, and soaking up your company. She's a calm, loving, easy dog who just wants her people close. To play tug-of-war, of course. Bonnie is up to date on vaccinations, spayed and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
First I want to say that we love Biscuit very much. She is an absolutely beautiful dog. After our Chihuahua passed from old age about two years ago, we waited a year and then traveled to Wenatchee WA to adopt Biscuit from Hands and Paws Rescue. She is 5 years old now. Our circumstance is that we lived in a four bedroom house when we adopted her, and now we live in a condo and have no yard. Biscuit has a lot of energy and she needs a yard. She needs someone very active who can wear her out daily. She loves fetch and will play fetch until she drops. We put her in training school but mom has had some health issues this year and is low energy. Dad has a very busy work schedule. We have a young kiddo whom we will need to explain this to somehow. Biscuit is good with kids but she does jump so the best kids would be ok with rough and tumble play. She needs additional training not to jump on people. She is only 12 pounds however. She does chew on things so she needs lots of chew toys.

2 almost 3 years old, timid, but friendly loves to snuggle, very affectionate loves attention and very trainable. He’s now looking for a very special home that can give him the time, patience, and understanding he needs to thrive. Mikey is a shy, sensitive boy who can be skittish in new situations and around new people. He is considered a flight risk, so he will need a calm, secure home committed to keeping him safe while he learns to trust and settle in. He’s looking for a quiet, predictable environment—ideally outside of the busy city—where he can decompress, build confidence, and establish a steady routine. Because of his sensitive nature, Mikey will need an adult-only home with adopters who have experience working with shy or fearful dogs. Having another well-adjusted, confident dog in the home would be a huge benefit for Mikey. He takes comfort in other dogs and would love a buddy to help show him the ropes and build his confidence. While he may be reserved at first, once Mikey forms a bond and feels safe, he shows his true colors—sweet, cuddly, and deeply loving with his people.
