FIRST STEPS: Please visit https://www.save-a-mutt.org/adoption-application/ to fill out an application - a Petfinder Inquiry is not the adoption process. We don't do meet and greets until applications have been approved. All our dogs are located IN Washington State - we are a local foster based rescue and no transport from another state required. :) Thanks! --- Meet Boots - he and his littermates were part of an oops litter. The family couldn't keep them and by the time they came to us, they were already 6 months old. Mommy is a long haired chihuahua - but they were unusual looking so we did DNA and fell on the floor when the results just came in. 18% of their DNA is Malinois. It's obvious daddy was a bigger dog. With their long bodies, we actually thought dachshund or corgi. Ha! Boots is only about 12# at 6 months old. We still think they will be under 20# like mommy. Boots is currently in a foster home, learning all things puppy - crate training, leash walking and more. Once settled in, he's pretty silly and sweet. He loves to play with the resident dogs and would enjoy another dog in the home. UPDATE: Guess whose ears popped! He looks like a total mini Mal! ;) This puppy is neutered, microchipped and fully vaccinated. Puppies are good with dogs, cats, kids and more. Being a puppy, they will need lots of training, including housebreaking. Remember, puppies are cute, but they have sharp teeth, need to be fed 3 times a day and poop... a lot! This litter arrived a little fearful - still wagging tails, but a lot of change in their world so we are stressing the 333 Rule. New things like vacuum cleaners, odd TV noises, etc. provide a moment of pause. The 3-3-3 rule is a guideline for transitioning a rescue dog into its new home and helping it to settle in. It suggests that the first three days should be used for adjusting to its new surroundings, the next three weeks for training and bonding, and the first three months for continued socialization and training. Each dog goes home with a goody bag including collar/leash, toys, chews, Kong, and more. You will receive all medical records, microchip transfer form and other paperwork at the time of adoption. Adoptions typically take place in Stanwood. Adoption fee is $475. Save-A-Mutt is a registered 501c3 and half of your adoption fee may be tax deductible. Save-A-Mutt is a foster based rescue, we do not have a facility to visit. Our adoptions are typically done Monday - Saturday, we are closed on Sunday’s to give our volunteers at least one day off. You must be available to do meets and adoptions during that time frame. We can make exceptions only with the approval of the foster home. Please note, we have approximately a 300 mile adoption radius - Portland OR area and Vancouver BC is the farthest north. We don’t ship dogs, once approved you must pick them up in Snohomish County, WA. Canadian adopters must be able to come to Stanwood WA to pick up your puppy.

Mittens is currently in a foster home, learning all things puppy - crate training, leash walking and more. Her foster mom said: - LOVES attention. Same as siblings, she comes and seeks it out. Shes like a pogo stick until she gets it. - It does seem like there is a lot in the world that is just new. Vacuum, hairdryer, TV, stairs.. all very weird to her. - Smart girl, picked up doggy door in less than an hour. - Loves dogs, loves playing with them. - I have no concerns about her picking up crate very quickly. She had a little tantrum but then slept for 4 hours on the very first day. It will only get better. - She seem very curious and playful. - Along with smart, she's a little contrary. He's also got longer legs and taller than his siblings. Parka is currently in a foster home, learning all things puppy - crate training, leash walking and more. Honestly - he's Rocking this foster thing. He's meeting all kinds of human and dog friends! His foster mom said: "Parka had a Fun day today. JackPot and Olive helped at training class. Afterwards we got to run around their fenced acreage. Parka did great, ran around but also checked in. Then we did a nice walk at Pac Rim Institute which is always full of new smells and noises. I think I’ve only heard Parka bark once which is shocking considering how much our dogs bark. He’s sort of chill." Once settled in, he's pretty silly and sweet. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Ramona! Born: May 14, 2025 Adoption Fee: $300 Apply to adopt at: www.adoggie4you.org Ramona is a playful, sweet-natured puppy who’s ready to find her forever family! She and her three siblings were rescued along with their devoted momma from a backyard breeder who, until a kind-hearted Good Samaritan stepped in, refused to spay or neuter his dogs. Thanks to that intervention, this little family is now on the path to a better life—full of love, not litters. At just a few months old, Ramona is all puppy! She’s curious, goofy, and full of energy. She adores playing with her siblings and toys, snuggling up for nap time, and giving her people lots of love. Did we mention she’s a total snack enthusiast? Ramona would thrive in a home ready for the joys (and challenges!) of raising a young pup. If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate, and lively new best friend, Ramona could be the one. Apply to adopt this sweetheart at www.adoggie4you.org   This dog is currently in Texas; however, it can be transported to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington KY or all along the East Coast. If transported, there is an additional transport fee of $250. We do not transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to their regulations.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 28, 2025, 7:06 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Rowan! Born: May 14, 2025 Adoption Fee: $300 Apply to adopt at: www.adoggie4you.org Rowan is our little Romeo — full of charm, affection, and irresistible puppy eyes! He’s one of four sweet siblings rescued with their momma from a backyard breeder. Their mom had spent her life having litter after litter, until a compassionate Good Samaritan stepped in and convinced the breeder to let them go. Now, Rowan and his family are on the path to a much-deserved fresh start. Rowan is all heart. He loves his people, craves cuddles, and always has a tail wag ready for anyone who gives him attention. But don’t be fooled — he’s still a puppy through and through! He loves playing with his siblings, chasing toys, and—of course—snack time. If you’re looking for a pup who’s equal parts lover and goofball, Rowan might just steal your heart.
