Like many unfortunate, wonderful dogs, Dolly found herself alone at the LA City shelter after her family dropped her off, with no good reason behind their action. One wonders why, as she is such a wonderful, well-tempered, loving girl. She is in a great foster home now and at 13 years of age, Dolly continues to show us her joy of life. She enjoys her walks with her foster family (is great on leash) and greets everyone who walks by giving the warmest hello and gentlest of kisses - yes she loves everyone (and she wonders why when someone doesn't say hi back!). She co-habitates fine with other dogs, though she does enjoy the company of her human friends much more. Dolly has learned to sleep in her crate and does not mind resting in it with the door open during the day, and also enjoys the light and sun of the outdoors in her yard. She is fine left alone for short periods of time, would rather be with her people most of the time, and is a quiet, sweet, gentle soul. At only 17 lbs, she will make a great companion for anyone. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. The adoption fee for a puppy is generally $495 - $525. Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. A 2 year old chocolate cocker! purchased as a puppy from a breeder, neglected, and then dumped at a shelter in Vegas. the shelter called the nice rescue folks and they came and got me. i currently weigh 12 lbs. I should weigh at least 16 lbs. i will get there! I am soooooo sweet-beyond sweet-and so smart! I am highly trainable and WANT to learn! I am spayed, working on house breaking and crate training. i love to play with balls. I do have tendencies to guard food around other dogs (not people) so a home with older kids probably is ideal.
