🐶 Looking for a New Family for Lego 📍 Location: New York Lego was adopted as a young puppy but was sadly surrendered by his owner after three years. He grew up in an unstable environment with frequent travel back and forth to Boston, which made it difficult for him to form a secure attachment with his guardian. Because of this instability, in moments of fear, panic, or overwhelming stress, he has shown a few defensive or warning bites Lego needs a family who can meet him in person, understand his behavior clearly, and provide the consistent, reassuring environment he needs. City life is simply too overwhelming for him. With a quiet environment and a patient, steady guardian, Lego has every chance to continue improving and becoming more stable. The greatest hope is for Lego to find a peaceful home where he can finally rest. 📌 Basic Information Name: Lego Age: 4 years Gender: Male Weight: 25 lbs Breed: Jindo × Cocker Spaniel mix Color: Brown & White 🐾 Personality & Behavior People: Very fearful/reactive toward new people, warms up more easily to shorter women Children: Not recommended Other Dogs: Best as the only dog Shows resource guarding around food; must be fed separately Cats: Unknown Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: No Energy Level: High Touch/Handling: Uncomfortable with physical contact Barking: Quiet when alone; barks at doorbells or hallway noises when someone is home Escape Tendencies: None — manageable with “sit” and “wait” Walking: Martingale collar recommended; pulls with a harness Car Rides: Nervous initially, settles on longer rides Yard: Ideal, but a quiet neighborhood is also fine Living with Other Dogs: Not suitable 🔎 What Lego Needs Lego has fear-based reactivity. His current guardian has invested significant time, training, and management, and he has shown meaningful progress. However, Lego needs: A guardian experienced with reactive or anxious dogs A consistent daily routine A calm environment with low stimulation 🧡 Please Consider Becoming Lego’s Family Once he bonds, Lego is goofy, affectionate, and deeply loyal. He is waiting for a forever family who can provide the quiet suburban environment where he can truly thrive.

Story
Meet Fitz. One look at Fitz's smile and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him. This 9-year-old Spaniel mix may only have one eye, but don't tell him that. He's far too busy leading neighborhood walks like the self-appointed mayor, curling up in the nearest lap, and making sure his favorite person never has to wonder where he is. Fitz is the definition of a velcro dogcalm, adaptable, and happiest when he's close to the people he loves. His foster describes him as wonderfully easygoing, with a smile that lights up the whole house. He does the cutest little tap dance when it's time for a walk, proudly takes the lead on his neighborhood adventures, and at the end of the day, all he wants is a soft bed with high sides and someone to snuggle beside. While he can be a little cautious around men at first, he warms up with patience and kindness. Fitz lost one of his eyes before coming to rescue, and his remaining eye will need to be monitored over time, but it isn't causing him any trouble right now. He doesn't let his limited vision slow him down one bit. Like many dogs who form deep bonds, Fitz can become protective of his favorite person. While he gets along well with other dogs most of the time, he has occasionally told a resident dog to back off when he felt his special relationship with his human was being interrupted. Because of this, he'd do best either as an only dog or with an experienced adopter who understands how to manage introductions, attention, and shared space. The good news? Fitz actually enjoys his crate and settles into it happily when left alone or when a little separation is needed. Fitz isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for his person. The one he'll follow from room to room, greet with that unforgettable grin, and love with his whole heart. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will happily join you for walks and then spend the rest of the evening curled up beside you, Fitz is ready to be your shadow. Fitz is approx 9 years old and 19 lbs. Fostered in Haymarket, VA Please apply at mirishaven.org

Looking for the perfect gentleman, and a guy just great with your kids??? Seriously, who isn't looking for that perfect match? Well, you've found him! I'm Ocean, and I am a pretty active guy who loves to play and be part of the pack, whether dog or human! I'd say I am medium energy as I really get excited about exploring my surroundings. I am crate trained and settle nicely once I've had an opportunity to exercise. I also know "sit". My foster reports that I am a lovely dog, super friendly! I'm just the right age - not to young and annoying, and not too old that I can't play and have tons of fun. I can get a little barky, but it just may be that I like to 'talk' to all the other dogs here! If you are interested in adopting the perfect man, please apply today. Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

Story
Looking for a loving home for a gentle, loyal companionThis sweet boy was my mom’s faithful companion until she passed away from cancer in late May. Since then he’s been living in her house mostly on his own. A kind neighbor walks him a few times a day, but the truth is he misses having his people around. He’s not anxious or difficult he’s simply a dog who’s used to a home full of life, and he deserves to have that again.I can’t give him the home he needs in my apartment. So I’m looking for someone who can.

Five of them, these Cocker Spaniel/Lab mixes are named Zambo, Zoom, Zero, Zap, Zebu. They presently weigh about 10-12 puppy pounds and will mature to 30-35 pounds. (posted 7/8/26, ME) ' 'Adoption Fee: $395.00-- covers microchip, worming, all vaccines, monthly heart worm preventative, monthly tick/flea preventative, spaying/neutering, health certificate, and complete medical records. PLEASE VISIT THIS WEBSITE TO FIND THE ADOPTION QUESTIONNAIRE: http://www.homewardtrails.org/adopt-a-pet/adoption-forms/ HOW TO MEET THIS ANIMAL: Fill out the application and we will follow up with you! We will connect you to his foster! LOCATION: Foster home ADOPTION COORDINATOR: Sue B (sueb@homewardtrails.org) ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for this dog: $615 ESTIMATE WEIGHT FULL GROWN: 14 lbs ESTIMATED AGE: 4 years approximately KNOWN WITH DOGS: Chicken is great with other dogs and prefers a home with them. He likes to learn from their confidence, play tug-of-war and walk closely by them. He REALLY needs another confident dog in the home. KNOWN WITH CATS: He’s totally fine with cats and currently fostered with one. Does great! KNOWN WITH KIDS: Chicken is just that – a CHICKEN. He came to us very under-socialized and a lot of things spook him: loud noises, sudden movements, reaching for him, etc. So he needs an ADULT-ONLY or one with kids over the age of 16. KNOWN COMMANDS: He knows his name and we are working on finding out what else he knows! KNOWN HOUSEBREAKING AND/OR CRATING: Chicken is not really housebroken but is getting crate trained. He does use pee pads quite well and has started pooping on leash – no peeing yet though. He will need a back yard of any size to get him on a good routine from crating to outdoor pottying. KNOWN LIKES: Walks, napping the sun, following his humans around, treats, other dogs, toys. KNOWN DISLIKES: Loud noises, sudden movements, reaching for him… ABOUT THIS ANIMAL: Chicken is adorable and every day we see how much he wants to move on from his past and become a confident boy. But touch and loud noises really spook him. He needs another dog in the home. He needs someone who can follow our plan for him and allow him to settle in slowly and then gradually take on confident-dog tasks in time. He likes to go on walks but will take patience for petting and cuddling. His foster can pick him up and brush him and bathe him and each day, he’s getting held more for cuddles to see that they are GOOD. But it will be a work in progress. He does not bite, but rather just tries to get away…which is easily solved by a short leash he keeps on him to allow for quicker/easier handling, walking, etc. His playful personality comes out around toys and other dogs who he loves to meet and follow. Chicken will soon be a confident boy of the world if only you can give him the security and patience he needs! Oh and he also rides very well in the car! HT ADOPTION INCLUSIONS: Spay/Neuter First 3 distemper series vaccines and de-wormings Microchip - lifetime with no registration fees Current on heartworm preventative Current on flea/tick preventative EXCLUSIVE ADOPTER BENEFITS: Free first exam with: - Caring Hands Animal Hospital, Palisades Veterinary Clinic, Jermantown Animal Hospital and Clarendon Animal Care and all VCA Animal Hospitals (VCA offers $250 coverage - details provided) - Free online workshop with a professional dog trainer at Fur-Get Me Not within the first 30 days of adopting (in DC/Arlington/Alexandria only) - Best Paws Forward Training Program – HT adopters ONLY ***A portion of EVERY ADOOPTION fee supports spay/neuter for animals in under-resourced communities ***BE A FOSTER: Save a life: http://www.homewardtrails.org/foster-a-pet/dog-and-cat-foster-program.
