Story
Holly: A Senior Dog Full of Love (and Second Chances) Imagine a dog who greets every day with a wagging tail and a joyful hop, even at 15 years young. That's Holly! This gentle soul may be a senior, but her heart overflows with love and a zest for life. Holly's foster mom calls her a "precious baby" for a reason. She's calm, affectionate, and loves nothing more than snuggling by your side – she's earned the title "shadow" for a reason! She enjoys leisurely walks and naps in sunbeams, but her biggest joy is being your companion. Life hasn't always been easy for Holly. After losing her canine companion, she experienced some separation anxiety. Her previous owner felt a new home might be best, and that's where you come in. Holly came to us with a big obstacle – a large mass that made even simple tasks (going to the bathroom) difficult. Thankfully, the 3.5lbs mass was removed, and with a little TLC, this brave girl bounced back. Sure, recovery had its moments, but Holly's fighting spirit shone through. Now, Holly is ready for the next chapter – a loving home where she can spend her golden years. She thrives on company and would love a home with someone who's there for her most of the time. Walks, cuddles, and adventures – that's Holly's dream retirement package. Could you be Holly's perfect match? If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will fill your days with sunshine and snuggles, then Holly is waiting for you. Don't let her golden years go unnoticed. Fill out an adoption application today and give Holly the loving home she deserves. (Adoption applications can be submitted at [https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd] for Ms. Holly, currently fostered in Olney, MD.) Holly is 25lbs and considerably healthy given her age. We prioritize homes within 60 miles of Silver Spring, MD, but fantastic matches in PA, NJ, NY, and WV will be considered! P.S. You won't regret opening your heart and home to this amazing senior pup

Story
My pet's name is Jolie, I was told by her original owners that her birthday is November 8th, 2019. She was given to me by someone in my neighborhood whose dog gave birth to a litter of pups. For the past few years, Jolie has been a wonderful part of my family, she is especially fond of my grandma. Whenever my grandma leaves the house she's the type to wait by the door for her to come back. Jolie loves to sleep by my feet and loves to follow me around the house. She has spent time at other homes in the past and does very well with other families and other dogs. Jolie is incredibly sweet. Like most dogs, she loves to play outside and she loves to run.

ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Kayla, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen. My house training is going well and I am spending less time hanging out in my crate. I am very playful and LOVE playing ball. I even roll the balls around with my paws and chase them. I can even pick it up with my mouth and toss it around. I am a quick learner. I have almost mastered "sit" and "lay down." My foster mom is still working on leash training with me. 06/27/2024 - UPDATE - I have been in a foster home for a little over a week. My foster parents say that I am really sweet, but I am still very timid and spend most of my time hanging out in my crate. Although, I am making progress. The other day, I walked out of my crate and rolled over for belly rubs! It was great! I have had only one accident in the house so far so my potty training is really going well. My foster parents don't even close the door on the crate, but it is my safe space so I do go hang out there. My foster parents are teaching me how to walk on a leash, but right now, I still like to pull. I do not like other dogs and should be the only dog in the house. My foster parents have dogs, and I really don't like them so they keep us separated. I can't wait to find my new forever home where I am treated like the princess of the palace. Can you help?
