Story
Holly: A Senior Dog Full of Love (and Second Chances) Imagine a dog who greets every day with a wagging tail and a joyful hop, even at 15 years young. That's Holly! This gentle soul may be a senior, but her heart overflows with love and a zest for life. Holly's foster mom calls her a "precious baby" for a reason. She's calm, affectionate, and loves nothing more than snuggling by your side – she's earned the title "shadow" for a reason! She enjoys leisurely walks and naps in sunbeams, but her biggest joy is being your companion. Life hasn't always been easy for Holly. After losing her canine companion, she experienced some separation anxiety. Her previous owner felt a new home might be best, and that's where you come in. Holly came to us with a big obstacle – a large mass that made even simple tasks (going to the bathroom) difficult. Thankfully, the 3.5lbs mass was removed, and with a little TLC, this brave girl bounced back. Sure, recovery had its moments, but Holly's fighting spirit shone through. Now, Holly is ready for the next chapter – a loving home where she can spend her golden years. She thrives on company and would love a home with someone who's there for her most of the time. Walks, cuddles, and adventures – that's Holly's dream retirement package. Could you be Holly's perfect match? If you're looking for a loyal, loving companion who will fill your days with sunshine and snuggles, then Holly is waiting for you. Don't let her golden years go unnoticed. Fill out an adoption application today and give Holly the loving home she deserves. (Adoption applications can be submitted at [https://bit.ly/4d7XoKd] for Ms. Holly, currently fostered in Olney, MD.) Holly is 25lbs and considerably healthy given her age. We prioritize homes within 60 miles of Silver Spring, MD, but fantastic matches in PA, NJ, NY, and WV will be considered! P.S. You won't regret opening your heart and home to this amazing senior pup

Story
We are looking for a loving new home for our beautiful 6-year-old Cocker Spaniel, Summer. We acquired her from a reputable breeder and can provide her pedigree upon request. Summer is a friendly and gentle dog who thrives on love and attention. She enjoys her daily walks and she is very sweet, making her a perfect companion for families or individuals who can offer her the time and affection she deserves. Unfortunately, due to a recent change in our circumstances and an upcoming move, we are unable to give Summer the attention she needs. We are seeking a new home where she will be cherished and have plenty of opportunities for love and playtime. Please note she will require frequent ear cleanings and has seasonal allergies that can affect her skin. What We Are Looking For: * A loving family or individual who can provide lots of attention and care * A home where she can enjoy daily walks and leisurely lounging * Someone who appreciates her friendly nature and has experience with dogs

Story
MEET MILO!  This gorgeous guy is 2.5 years old and 30 pounds.  Milo LOVES to play ball so having plenty of tennis balls around is a must.  As is a securely fenced yard a must for Milo due to his reactivity (barking, pulls) to passing bikers, joggers,  and skateboarders while out walking.  Milo prefers the suburbia life and isn't a city boy.   Milo is perfect inside the home -- house trained, loving and friendly. He enjoys his foster's fully fenced yard and will chase balls and squirrels as he plays outside.  He is in his happy place!  Milo is a snuggler too and enjoys sleeping in the big bed at night.  Milo rode quietly in the car. Milo has double cherry eyes.  They don't hurt and will be seeing the eye doctor the week of September 23 to schedule OBG-sponsored surgery to repair the cherry eyes.  It is a relatively  easy surgery with a fast recovery time.   To learn more about adopting Milo, please email us at adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 1, 2024, 7:12 pm

Story
Hi!  My name is Skylar and I just arrived to this awesome rescue.  I'm 7 years old and weigh 23 pounds.  I've spent my life as a breeder pup and all the new changes are overwhelming for me.  I'm not aggressive at all -- everyone says I'm super sweet and shy.  I lived with other dogs and need one in my foster or forever home.  I'm keeping the crate clean while I'm at the vet's office.  My leash manners are getting much better while I'm here as I've never walked on a leash before.  I would love a securely fenced yard in my foster home as I learn to walk on real walks and enjoy all the comforts of being a loved pup in a warm home. To learn more about me, please email me at adoptme@cockerspanielrescue.com.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 1, 2024, 7:12 pm

Story
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hi Everyone! My name is Miracle, and I just arrived at CSAC. I was rescued from a puppy mill. I am scared because I have not been around a lot of people or lived in a home as a pet. I have spent my life in a barn, a shed or a cage. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me and are not going to hurt me. That is something I have not experienced so far in my life. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will help me to understand that I am a cherished family pet, not just an animal to be used to make money. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
