Looking for a loving home for a gentle, loyal companionThis sweet boy was my mom’s faithful companion until she passed away from cancer in late May. Since then he’s been living in her house mostly on his own. A kind neighbor walks him a few times a day, but the truth is he misses having his people around. He’s not anxious or difficult he’s simply a dog who’s used to a home full of life, and he deserves to have that again.I can’t give him the home he needs in my apartment. So I’m looking for someone who can.

Looking for the perfect gentleman, and a guy just great with your kids??? Seriously, who isn't looking for that perfect match? Well, you've found him! I'm Ocean, and I am a pretty active guy who loves to play and be part of the pack, whether dog or human! I'd say I am medium energy as I really get excited about exploring my surroundings. I am crate trained and settle nicely once I've had an opportunity to exercise. I also know "sit". My foster reports that I am a lovely dog, super friendly! I'm just the right age - not to young and annoying, and not too old that I can't play and have tons of fun. I can get a little barky, but it just may be that I like to 'talk' to all the other dogs here! If you are interested in adopting the perfect man, please apply today. Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

Story
🐶 Looking for a New Family for Lego 📍 Location: New York Lego was adopted as a young puppy but was sadly surrendered by his owner after three years. He grew up in an unstable environment with frequent travel back and forth to Boston, which made it difficult for him to form a secure attachment with his guardian. Because of this instability, in moments of fear, panic, or overwhelming stress, he has shown a few defensive or warning bites Lego needs a family who can meet him in person, understand his behavior clearly, and provide the consistent, reassuring environment he needs. City life is simply too overwhelming for him. With a quiet environment and a patient, steady guardian, Lego has every chance to continue improving and becoming more stable. The greatest hope is for Lego to find a peaceful home where he can finally rest. 📌 Basic Information Name: Lego Age: 4 years Gender: Male Weight: 25 lbs Breed: Jindo × Cocker Spaniel mix Color: Brown & White 🐾 Personality & Behavior People: Very fearful/reactive toward new people, warms up more easily to shorter women Children: Not recommended Other Dogs: Best as the only dog Shows resource guarding around food; must be fed separately Cats: Unknown Potty Trained: Yes Crate Trained: No Energy Level: High Touch/Handling: Uncomfortable with physical contact Barking: Quiet when alone; barks at doorbells or hallway noises when someone is home Escape Tendencies: None — manageable with “sit” and “wait” Walking: Martingale collar recommended; pulls with a harness Car Rides: Nervous initially, settles on longer rides Yard: Ideal, but a quiet neighborhood is also fine Living with Other Dogs: Not suitable 🔎 What Lego Needs Lego has fear-based reactivity. His current guardian has invested significant time, training, and management, and he has shown meaningful progress. However, Lego needs: A guardian experienced with reactive or anxious dogs A consistent daily routine A calm environment with low stimulation 🧡 Please Consider Becoming Lego’s Family Once he bonds, Lego is goofy, affectionate, and deeply loyal. He is waiting for a forever family who can provide the quiet suburban environment where he can truly thrive.

Story
Meet Fitz. One look at Fitz's smile and you'll understand why everyone falls in love with him. This 9-year-old Spaniel mix may only have one eye, but don't tell him that. He's far too busy leading neighborhood walks like the self-appointed mayor, curling up in the nearest lap, and making sure his favorite person never has to wonder where he is. Fitz is the definition of a velcro dogcalm, adaptable, and happiest when he's close to the people he loves. His foster describes him as wonderfully easygoing, with a smile that lights up the whole house. He does the cutest little tap dance when it's time for a walk, proudly takes the lead on his neighborhood adventures, and at the end of the day, all he wants is a soft bed with high sides and someone to snuggle beside. While he can be a little cautious around men at first, he warms up with patience and kindness. Fitz lost one of his eyes before coming to rescue, and his remaining eye will need to be monitored over time, but it isn't causing him any trouble right now. He doesn't let his limited vision slow him down one bit. Like many dogs who form deep bonds, Fitz can become protective of his favorite person. While he gets along well with other dogs most of the time, he has occasionally told a resident dog to back off when he felt his special relationship with his human was being interrupted. Because of this, he'd do best either as an only dog or with an experienced adopter who understands how to manage introductions, attention, and shared space. The good news? Fitz actually enjoys his crate and settles into it happily when left alone or when a little separation is needed. Fitz isn't looking for perfection. He's looking for his person. The one he'll follow from room to room, greet with that unforgettable grin, and love with his whole heart. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will happily join you for walks and then spend the rest of the evening curled up beside you, Fitz is ready to be your shadow. Fitz is approx 9 years old and 19 lbs. Fostered in Haymarket, VA Please apply at mirishaven.org

I have been in a foster home, and I am ready for my new home! I have been working on my commands and learning my adult dog skills, but I am still all puppy. Watch my videos linked below. My leg has healed, and you can see it does not slow me down. As I get older, I may need some arthritis medication, but the more exercise I get now, the better it will be when I am older. I need a yard to run around, long walks, playtime, and help continuing my transition from puppy to adult dog. I prefer hard to chew toys (the soft ones are not a challenge) and a good lap to cuddle into at night. You know you want to be my cuddle buddy! Please apply for me today. 06/13/2026 - Videos: Leo loves to run and play. Leo loves to play with his toy. MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Leo. My owner started have an allergic reaction to me so she asked CSAC to help find me a new home. The best home for me has people who have puppy experience who can help continue my training. I am sweet, very playful. I enjoy cuddling, playing with toys and being around people. I am house trained and crate trained. I even know some commands like sit, stay and outside. I do have a limp when I walk. I broke my back leg and it did not heal correctly. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
