Story
Sophie is an 8 year old, 60lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. If you are interested in adopting, please complete an adoption application at www.hhfrescue.org. Thank you for considering a rescued dog!

Story
Vivian is a beautiful young blue Merle smooth coat female collie. She is approximately 2-3 years old and 55 lbs. Vivian is a very special girl that came from a hoarding situation of about 200 collies, Her happy place revolves around other dogs, which make her feel comfortable and confident. She loves to run and play and has a tendency to hop around like a bunny rabbit when playing! She is a very sweet girl but is not a cuddler. She is very cautious around humans and is progressing. Vivian is house trained and uses a doggie door. Vivian needs a home that is calm and relatively quiet. It is a must that she has a furry friend that will give her the comfort and confidence she needs. Her family will need patience and understanding to continue her progress. Texas applicants only.

Introducing Beatrice and her Brood! Bea was very pregnant and rescued from a shelter. A shelter is no place for a momma and her babies. Beatrice is about 1.5 years old and 50% collie. We do not know who the daddy is but the babies seem to have some Aussie and maybe border collie. These puppies are a healthy and happy "Brood"! Bea has done a wonderful job training her "brood". They were born May 6, 2024. The puppies will be up to date on vaccines and micro-chipped. Fenced yard required. Apply at www.HoustonCollieRescue.org

Story
This sweet dog showed up on our front porch obviously starving and scared. We put out food and water and he ate the food in a remarkably short time. He is very submissive and we believe had been abused. He wants us to pet him all the time and just can't get enough love. He is gentle with our very old small Maltese. He dodges and hides if he believes we are upset. He very rarely barks. We took him to our vet and he doesn't have a microchip. Our vet said she believes he is about 1 year old and full grown (medium size, 48 lbs). He is heartworm negative and we gave him all the usual yearly shots. He is house broken and he sleeps in a crate. We will be relocating into a nursing/assisted living home and so we can't keep him or we would. We already love him.
