Meet Stella: This gorgeous girl is the Mom to the Gilmore Girls (Emily, Lorelai and Rory) - she was found by her foster family in an abandoned trailer after just having given birth to 7 puppies, they were about 10 days old at that time. Stella was a dedicated mother for the first few months, until her pups grew independent personalities and were starting to push boundaries, then she was done mothering them. Stella now enjoys solo yard time and people attention, barking at other dogs - even her daughters at times - and going on walks. Stella is a long haired German Shepherd/something mix, about 2 yrs old and displays many typical shepherd qualities, like desire to please her people, above average smarts, food motivation (this girl is willing to do sketchy stuff for food..), and some dog reactivity. We do not know her background, other than she was not medically taken care of and came to us heartworm positive. She was treated for heartworms and is now waiting for all remnants of the worms and medication to clear her system before her spay, which should be early July. Stella is looking for a home preferably where she can be the only dog (she maybe ok with a calm, same size or bigger male companion), where she can get the personal attention and affection she craves and with a handler that is willing and able to spend some time teaching her new tricks and manners, she is eager to learn. We have three other dogs a shephard mix a cattle dog and a chihuahua mix . She isn’t getting along with our 1 year old Chihuahua mix . What a character this girl is! Meet Daphne Daphne was heartbreakingly left behind by her owner after apparently being kept outside in the yard and no longer wanted. Despite everything, this beautiful girl has remained nothing but sweet, loving, and full of life. Daphne deserves a family who will truly cherish her, spend time with her, and show her what real love feels like. During our shelter pull, we noticed a note on her kennel card that had incorrect information on it. Of course, we had to see for ourselves — and Daphne completely proved that note wrong. She was absolutely PERFECT during her temp test. No aggression whatsoever, just a happy-go-lucky girl eager to make friends with every dog she met. We think Daphne is a Collie/Shepherd mix and she’s around 2 years old, maybe even younger. She is incredibly sweet, eager to please, and has such a fun personality. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. She loves gentle pets, kind words, and someone who will tell her how beautiful and special she is several times a day. Penny is happiest simply being near her people and will quietly follow you from room to room, content to be your loyal sidekick. She is the perfect companion for someone looking for a low-maintenance collie who craves love and attention but doesn't need a lot of activity to be happy. As a senior girl, Penny moves at a slower pace and has some arthritis in her back legs, so she would thrive in a home that appreciates a laid-back lifestyle. She is currently on a fitness journey and has been steadily losing weight, which is improving her mobility every day. Penny enjoys short, leisurely walks and walks nicely on a leash. As an added bonus, she has no interest in jumping on furniture or greeting guests with muddy paws! Penny would prefer to be the only dog in her home. She socializes well with other dogs in neutral settings, such as on walks or in the backyard, but can be protective of her personal space when sharing a home with another dog. Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. Rather than fitting a square peg into a round hole, it was determined that Rachel would be happier in a home that can more closely fit her needs. Rachel likes to have something to do, either playing with a toy or one of her dog friends or going for a walk. She seems to have a permanent smile on her face, and loves attention. She can be a little sneaky and will find unsecured garbage cans and unattended food - as she is very smart. She fine with relaxing with her pack after some playtime. Rachel is fine with most other dogs - she can be a little slow on picking up subtle social cues form other dogs ("I don't want to play right now" - "OK, how about now" 5 seconds later...) so tolerant dogs are the easiest fit, and while she is pretty easily corrected and redirect, you may have to repeat yourself a few times for her to believe you. She does want to please her humans and loves to cuddle. Rachel does not like to be left alone, and is looking for a home where someone is home a lot and can devote time and energy to her exercise, training and give her the attention and affection she craves. Some dogs handle changes easily, Rachel is not one of them, so an experienced and patience handler is preferred. Rachel would do best in a home with another dog or more than one, she loves kids, is house trained, but does not like to be alone and is not a fan of the crate. She can be crated and is currently crated, albeit in a rather high security crate. Once rescued by our foster family, we started opening our eyes to see this beautiful world around May 12th, and boy are we HAPPY TO BE HERE! Our Mom - who has already found her permanent place once we find ours - is a gorgeous Shepherd mix and very patient with us and our apparently very sharp teeth. As my name suggests, I’m Yale-worthy smart. 🧠 Despite being a runt (closely tied with Sookie), I was the first to open my eyes and the first to escape the baby pen. My foster parents put in a lot of work to keep me safe! Sookie and I probably have a different dad than our litter mates, but Mama won’t spill. She said not until we’re adults, but something tells me she doesn’t even know who our dad is. I love to spill my food as soon as it’s served. Don’t worry— I still eat it so you don’t have to clean it up! I’m a huge lover. When I was a tiny baby I would get cold after bath time so my foster mom would swaddle me in a bath towel and rock me until I stopped shivering.
