Sophie is an 10 year old, 70lb, spayed Collie mix. She is up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. She is good with children and loves to play with other dogs. She would not do well with cats or chickens due to her prey drive. Sophie is crate and house trained and walks well on leash. She is an active, playful girl who prefers daily walks to get her energy out. She would love to snuggle with you on the couch and give hugs to everyone she meets! Sophie came into our rescue as a young puppy, she was adopted twice and had forever homes for approximately 3-1/2 years both times. Both times she was returned due to changes in the family dynamics through no fault of hers. She is looking for a REAL forever home this time - one that she can live out her remaining years with love and companionship. Story
Meet Piper. 5.5-6 yrs old. She’s been fully vetted and is ready for adoption. Piper came from a local shelter as a stray. Her medical has been lengthy and expensive as she went through heartworm treatment and had entropian surgery for one of her eyes. That’s where they fix the eyelashes from rolling inward and scratching the eye causing it to weep from irritation. She’s all healthy and feeling great. Piper is sweet, playful and mostly obedient. She is completely housebroken. Though Piper likes to play with other dogs she needs to be in a no other dog home since she resource guards her food. She would just love having a person she can snuggle on the couch with. We had Piper DNA’d and she is 50/50 smooth collie & husky. Meet Mia and Milo. Not quite 2 yrs old, DOB 2/10/24, Milo is 53 lbs, Mia is 42 lbs., rough collie or possibly sheltie and lab mix give them the smooth collie appearance. Owner relinq due to personal hardship, these 2 sweeties are socialized, great with kids, car rides, other dogs and cats.. They are heartworm & fecal negative, altered, fully vetted, microchipped and on monthly preventative. Foster dad says: They have been the sweetest fosters we've ever gotten. They have settled down, eat well, and sleep well. We do think they are a bonded pair. They function together, they are nice to each other, and take turns being lead dog. Though they do great with other dogs they are never far from each other. Grace update: she is doing wonderfully, and it’s hard to believe she’s the same dog who came to us just a couple of months ago. She arrived so emaciated and scared after surviving severe neglect, yet she has met every new day with quiet courage. Seeing how far she has come feels nothing short of remarkable. Today, she is a completely different girl. Grace has settled beautifully into her foster home. She follows the household routine with ease and continues to grow in love and trust. She’s gained healthy weight, her coat looks beautiful, and her gentle collie spirit shines brighter every day. She’s wonderful with other dogs and very sweet with the resident cat, and we think she would do best with another doggy friend. She’s fully house trained and crate trained. She’s also spayed, vaccinated, and doing really well. She leans in for soft pets, stays close to her people, and carries a sweetness that feels even more special knowing what she overcame. She is inquisitive, intelligent, and eager to please. Watching her become the dog she was always meant to be has been such a gift. Grace is ready for a forever family who will give her the love, safety, and stability she has fought so hard to reach. Rachel - Border Collie/Lab mix - Female - 6.5 yrs - www.twyla.org If you'd like to know more about this dog please visit our website at www.Twyla.org Meet Rachel: this gorgeous 6.5-year-old Border Collie Lab has returned to us as her needs and her families availability simply grew apart, like it happens sometimes. Rather than fitting a square peg into a round hole, it was determined that Rachel would be happier in a home that can more closely fit her needs. Rachel likes to have something to do, either playing with a toy or one of her dog friends or going for a walk. She seems to have a permanent smile on her face, and loves attention. She can be a little sneaky and will find unsecured garbage cans and unattended food - as she is very smart. She fine with relaxing with her pack after some playtime. Rachel is fine with most other dogs - she can be a little slow on picking up subtle social cues form other dogs ("I don't want to play right now" - "OK, how about now" 5 seconds later...) so tolerant dogs are the easiest fit, and while she is pretty easily corrected and redirect, you may have to repeat yourself a few times for her to believe you. She does want to please her humans and loves to cuddle. Rachel does not like to be left alone, and is looking for a home where someone is home a lot and can devote time and energy to her exercise, training and give her the attention and affection she craves. Some dogs handle changes easily, Rachel is not one of them, so an experienced and patience handler is preferred. Rachel would do best in a home with another dog or more than one, she loves kids, is house trained, but does not like to be alone and is not a fan of the crate. She can be crated and is currently crated, albeit in a rather high security crate. She is highly food motivated, which is great for training, is fine in the car, her leash training could use some fine tuning, but she is making great progress and has attended numerous group classes with her trainer with great success. ***Please note: All dogs are fostered in private homes of volunteers, so to meet a dog please fill out an Adoption Application so we may setup a private meetup with the dog or coordinate for an Introduction at the next general Adoption Meet and Greet, as not all dogs come to all Meet and Greets***

Great dog, potty trained and sleeps through night on his dog bed which will also be provided. Does good on a leash. He does great around other dogs and people. The only reason he needs a new home is because we have a toddler, and he herds him around and our toddler does not like it. Very smart, picked up some training already with treats.
