Hamlet Needs a Foster or Adopter by March 14, 2026 to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin
Hamlet is currently in Arkansas and needs a foster or adopter to secure his spot on the 3/14 transport from Arkansas to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue. A committed home is required for him to make the trip, and we’re hopeful the right person is out there.
Meet Hamlet
Hamlet is an approximately 7-month-old Border Collie mix and the brother of Romeo who just came up on our 2/14/26 transport. He has been waiting far too long at the kill shelter for his chance at a forever home. Hamlet is a sweet, friendly, and happy boy who loves people and does well with other dogs. He is so thankful for any attention he can get at the shelter and would love a family of his own.
Like many young pups, Hamlet will need guidance with potty training, crate training, and leash manners, but he is young, adaptable, and eager to learn. His playful and affectionate personality makes him a wonderful companion for the right family.
Age: Approximately 7 months
Gender: Male
Weight: 35lbs
Breed: Border Collie mix (best guess)
Spayed/Neutered: Scheduled
Potty Trained: Not yet
Crate Trained: Not yet
Leash Manners: Working on it
Good with Dogs: Yes
Good with Cats: Needs to be tested
Good with Kids: Yes, friendly with people
Hamlet deserves a safe, loving home and a fresh start. If you are able to foster or adopt and help secure his ride to Wisconsin, please apply today.

ADOPTION PROCESS:
1.) Apply: Fill out an adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents.
2.) Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email.
3.) Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: After approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5-day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit.
4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue.
5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process, we conduct a home visit either in person or via Zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have.
6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. The procedure MUST be done at HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI, or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI. If you would like to go through your veterinarian or another location, we will reimburse $150 once we receive proof of the procedure. We recommend spay/neuter around 6 months old.
**Note: Adoptions are not considered final until the dog is neutered/spayed if applicable**
