Story
Yahoo is an Australian Cattle Dog who weighs about 43 lbs and is considered a medium energy dog. He is a little timid at first, but when given the opportunity to approach on his own terms he is affectionate, snuggly and sweet! Yahoo rides great in the car and is a great companion on walks and hikes as he generally walks at your pace without pulling. He knows the sit, shake and down commands and picked up waiting at the door before going out in one try. He has does his business outside on walks and has not had any accidents in the house. He kenneled up for overnight without any resistance. If he trusts you he will roll on his back to get his chest/belly rubbed or snuggle up on the couch.Yahoo has many traits typical to Cattle dogs/Blue Heelers in that he will attempt to "herd" small children and has a prey drive for little critters. For these reasons he should not go to a home with cats, small children, mid-sized children prone to outbursts of high activity or those looking to start a family. He is very loyal to his people and can therefore be choosy with the dogs he meets, but with slow, proper introductions has made doggy friends. He also has one trait that is not typical to Cattle dogs - HE IS A CALM, DAPPER GENTLEMAN and a bit of a loaf... he would rather get pet than chase a ball, but will play with toys on occasion. Adoption fee: 425 All dogs/puppies have been fully vetted including spay/neuter, micro-chipping, worming, heartworm testing and preventative treatment, flea/tick preventative, and all required age appropriate vaccinations. As required by Wisconsin Act 90, all dogs will have received a veterinarian exam (CVI) within the past 30 days. Our adoption process requires the submission of an application. Applications and Adoption Rules can be found on our website, on the "HOW TO ADOPT" tab at JRsPupsNStuff.org. Upon receipt of the completed application, we will process the application including: contact with your veterinarian and completion of a home visit. Please be sure to include the contact information for your vet as we will call. If your vet requires an information release, please be sure to contact them as soon as you submit your application.
