Story
A WONDERFUL COMPANION: Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 27 lbs. Hi, my name’s Reid! Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I sure am grateful they did! I’m in a wonderful foster home now, but nothing will beat a home of my very own! Come meet me soon! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: It only took a few minutes for the dog and I to warm up to each other in my foster home, but then we were great friends! We love each other and play well together. I may initiate playtime by biting at her ears, but I back off from that when she tells me to! If you have a friendly and playful dog, let’s meet / I am doing well with the kitty in my foster home, who has no problem telling me not to chase her, so if you have a kitty that will stand up to me, let’s meet! / My foster thinks that kids 10 and older would be best for me due to my mouthy style of play, so if you have kids that age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over or nibble on. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Though I arrived at the shelter a bit scared and snippy, the volunteers knew to go slow with me and give me time to adjust to my new environment. Now that I’ve settled in and have gone into a foster home, I’ve just been a doll! I’m cuddly- but not too tight please, playful, silly, a bit of a vocal player and friendly. My foster can tell I’ve had a home in the past as I have good house manners. I really like being with my people (and not alone), so I’d love a stay at home or work from home family member. / My energy level is 7 – 9 in my foster home, so let’s be active together! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’ve learned a lot in my foster home. I know the ‘sit’, ‘come’, ‘drop-it’, ‘leave-it’ commands and I have good leash manners too. I also know the word ‘no’. I’m sure you can teach me lots more too! / I don’t love going back to my little room at the shelter after spending time with the volunteers, so I did get a little snippy when forced. In my foster home, it’s been much better. I cry in my crate at first, but then I settle down. / My potty habits have been good on the shelter schedule and in my foster home too. • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love stuffed toys, chew bones which are fun to bury in blankets, beds, and clothes - lol. I also like belly rubs and being scratched as well as walks, playing with the dog in my foster home, looking out the window, mealtimes and of course – treats! I love running, so please make sure I don’t get outside off leash as I’ll run and if you chase me, I’ll run faster as I think it’s a game, but I wouldn’t want to get lost or hurt. / When I lived at the shelter, I didn’t like being restrained and when folks leashed me from under my head/neck. In my foster home I have overcome that, though I still don’t like to be hugged too tightly or to be grabbed by my collar, but I’m great for harnessing for my walks. I’m not a fan of getting into cars, but riding seems fine, so hopefully I’ll get used to getting in the car soon. I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a loving home with a great family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. April 26, 2024, 10:50 am
