Story
A NextDoor member reached out as he was unable to care for him. I stepped up, fully vetted him, and eliminated his skin issues. Our home is not the best home for him, as he is a smaller dog and occasionally gets trampled by the bigger dogs during play time. We believe he is highly adoptable and will do better in a more appropriate home. He is super sweet and easy going with no issues. He is so gentle that he won't even hurt an ant or a fly. He cannot be crated as he lived in one for most of his 8 years. He cannot be left alone as he was left alone most of his first 8 years. A home visit will be required.

Story
Oliver is a sweet dog and always loves alerting us to any changes in our home. He loves to always be nearby. He is 5 years old and has been with our family since he was a puppy. Unfortunately, after we have added two small children to our family, we found it to be too much chaos in our home having a dog and children.

Story
A Sweet Little Valentine 💝 Daisy is a 20 pound bundle of love. She's a very sweet corgi/chi mix. She's around 8 yrs young. Her owner has suffered a brain injury and can no longer care for her. Daisy is mellow most of the time & sometimes playful & silly. She enjoys going for walks. She's great with children & other dogs, though she needs to be fed separately as she can be food possessive. (Girl loves her food.. don't we all!) She doesn't mind cats, but if other dogs are around, she "joins in" if they go after a cat. So she would be best with EITHER cats or dogs, not both. She would also enjoy being an only pet.👸 Daisy would make such a wonderful loving companion. She's fully vetted & ready to find a forever home. Please reach out for more information about Daisy! Story
Want a best friend who adores you, will always be by your side, and who thinks you hung the moon and the stars???? Meet Marigold!! She is absolutely the sweetest girl and loves her people more than anything in the world! Because of this, Marigold would do best in a home where her family is home more than not. Marigold needs slow introductions when meeting other furry friends but would do well with another calm dog. Marigold was found in a rural area along with 4 of her puppies back during an ice storm. Since she has been in her foster home, she has really bloomed! She is a smart girl and learned the doggie door quickly from her furry foster siblings. She is around 3 years old, 32 lbs., house-trained, and walks well on a leash. She rarely ever barks, sits on command and just longs to be by your side! Please note that we do not recommend Marigold to families with children under 5. We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.

Story
Hello, my name is Waddles! I was named Waddles, because, I am a short, and low to the ground. I am a 3 year old, 26 pound, corgi/shepherd mix. I have very cute ears, and a fun personality to go with! I love to play outside, and I love to be with people. I would make a great hiking buddy or a good dog for an active family. I probably would do well with another energetic dog, and I wouldn't mind having kids to play with. Do you think I could be the dog for your family? Bring everyone by to meet me, you can even bring your dog!ADOPTION PROCESS: If you are interested in adopting from Second ChanceSPCA, please come during open hours.
