Story
Meet Philly Philly is 4 months old and at only 16 pounds. She is the tiniest of her litter—but don’t let her size fool you. This little girl is confident, curious, and full of personality. She’s more independent than her siblings and is perfectly content entertaining herself, but she also loves attention, snuggles, and being close to her people.   Philly would thrive with another dog but would be ok as an only dog, too.  She is great with other dogs, kids, and even cats. Because of her young age, she’ll need a home where someone is around more often than not to help her grow, learn, and feel secure.   If you’re looking for a small but mighty companion with the perfect mix of playful spirit and cuddly sweetness, Philly might just be your girl.   To meet Philly in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application.  ADOPTION FEE Covers: Core vaccines plus Lepto and Flu, all boosters, microchip, dewormer until clear fecal test & spay or neuter when completed by a DSDA vet partner plus any necessary medical care.  All dogs are on flea, tick and heartworm prevention and you receive the following month's preventatives complementary with your adoption!  * Adoption Fees: Puppies (12 months and under) - $325  Dogs (over 12 months) - $275  Qualifications for Adoption:  No dog is alike and each dog has different requirements based on breed, age, energy level and life experiences. Story
Astro is an adorable small breed puppy who is only 3 months old and approx 12 pounds. He has a long body like his mom who we think is likely a corgi mix. Dad is unknown but may be mixed with chihuahua-best guess. All we know is he is adorable! He is dog, kid and cat friendly and currently learning about house, crate and leash training and the doggy door is no big deal to this smart little guy! To meet Astro in person visit us at www.dsda.org/adopt and submit our online adoption application. Story
Tank is a 10 month old Corgi mix! He was first adopted from the animal shelter when he was a very young puppy, then returned a few months later. He was adopted a second time by my family. However, due to recent family situations that require us to go out and work more, along with school, we are no longer able to provide the attention he deserves.I am looking for a home with a decently sized backyard for this energetic boy to run around. He is a bossy little guy around other dogs, so preferably a quiet home where he is the only dog. He is pottytrained, but he does occasionally have accidents inside, and he knows how to sit sometimes, so he requires patience. I would like for him to enjoy having fun without a care in the world.

Story
Augie 8 year-old Corgi Mix Sunshine lounger | Snack connoisseur | Loyal little shadow Augie is an 8‑year‑old Corgi mix with a big heart, short legs, and an appreciation for the simple joys in life. He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t need constant attention - he just wants to be near his people. If you’re working, he’ll curl up close. If you’re relaxing, he’ll find a sunbeam and keep you company. If you walk to another room, he’ll quietly follow to make sure he’s still part of the moment. He starts off a bit shy, but once he decides you’re his family, his loyalty is steady and sweet. He’s gentle, affectionate, and happiest when he knows his people are nearby. And snacks? Augie believes snacks are a universal love language. Augie also has a curious, adventurous streak, and he takes open doors very seriously. In his mind, an open door isn’t just a doorway… it’s an opportunity. He will try to slip out for a self‑guided adventure, so he needs a home that’s mindful about doors, gates, and comings and goings. With good management, he stays safe and happy right where he belongs. Augie would be a great match for someone who: - Loves a calm, easygoing companion - Appreciates a dog who bonds deeply and quietly - Enjoys sharing sunny spots and peaceful moments - Can keep doors and gates secure for this determined little explorer If you’re looking for a loyal, low‑key buddy who will warm your days, stay close without crowding you, and happily accept every snack you offer, Augie might be the perfect fit. ***** ADOPTION APPLICATION: https://iamdogrescue.org/adoption-application/ ***IMPORTANT- PLEASE READ*** Our adoption fee is $175. We require an application to be completed prior to setting up a meet-and-greet. We do not offer "on-the-spot" adoptions. We do not adopt on a first-come, first-served basis. We do our best to match dogs with families that will be a good fit to help ensure a successful adoption. We reserve the right to decline any application for any reason. Due to the nature of our adoption process, our fosters are usually only able to consider forever families within a reasonable driving distance of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. A vet reference is required, and a trial period will be completed before finalizing the adoption. Thank you for your understanding.
